Opposing Fan Ettiquete
Johnny Hammersticks replied to The Real Buffalo Joe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have no observed this fan behavior disproportionate to other venues. Generally, with a few exceptions, I have founds Bills fans to be respectful and even accommodating. -

Words don’t hurt me, man. I can deal with any taunting/name calling peacefully. If you throw things at or put hands on me and/or my loved ones, however, prepare to feel the wrath. #illturnyourteethintobloodychicklets -

I was at a Syracuse v Auburn football game at the dome back in the 90’s, and Syracuse managed to pull off a huge upset over the Tigers. I think we were unranked and they were top 10. Auburn probably had 5-10 thousand fans there. Anyway, we were walking out of the dome and a few Cuse fans started teasing an Auburn fan (a very large, muscular man...probably an Auburn student). Probably not a great idea. It was pretty gentle stuff...I believe there may have been someone who said “overrated” and “enjoy the ride back to Bama.” Some things like that. This guy turned around and approached the 3 people. Looked like a man with his wife (I’d say mid 40’s), and another woman. I was walking with two of my friends, and we all saw was about to happen. So the Auburn fan walked right up to the most vocal woman who continued “chirping” at him as he got closer. He walked up to her, kicked her dead in the lady parts as hard as he could, and then ran away down the hill. The security guard who was in the parking booth saw the whole thing happen, and didn’t even say anything to the guy. I have never witnessed anything like that in my life. -

Yes this can happen, but it shouldn't. I've encountered plenty of annoying/rude opposing fans in my days as a sports fan, but never thought to physically assault them. Ignore it if you can, but if you can't inform security. There also is such a thing as not being so boisterous to the point of being obnoxious when you're the visiting fan. Cheer for your team, but keep it classy and respectful. Or else you're just asking for some nut-job to punch you in the face. -

Certainly someone putting their hands on you in that fashion would be crossing the line. I would have had a big problem with that if I were you. -
FWIW, I'm hearing that the coaching staff feels really good about Stewart coming to Syracuse. Apparently, there is family pressure to stay closer to home, and after his official visit, he is really warming up to the idea of doing so. For those who have followed me in the Syracuse hoops threads, I have made it known that I have a "source" within the SU athletic department (and another actually who is an alum and prominent donor to the university). My information has proved to be correct on many occasions, and turned out to be wrong on other occasions. College basketball recruiting is a crazy thing, and decisions can change at the last minute for different reasons. Take this information for what it's worth.

[Name Only Title] Wyatt Teller?
Johnny Hammersticks replied to Dave Allen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After watching him at TC, I was positive that he would get some PT eventually this season. You are correct, he is an absolute monster in the running game. Must need some polish, as most late round o-linemen typically need. -
I think most people forget about Goodine who is already a very good commit for ‘19. With the additions of Guerrier and either Akok and/or Stewart, this has the potential to be one of JB’s best recruiting classes ever. Your take on Akok being partial to UCONN is new to me, and I’m guessing based on someone “in the know.” Last I heard he was believed to be a Cuse lean. We’ll see...

I think we land Guerrier and Akok. I think our chances at Stewart have improved since Girard committed, and I heard that he has a really good official visit, but I still think he ends up at either Michigan State or Duke.

Siffredi Hard Academy on Netflix
Johnny Hammersticks replied to stuvian's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I watched about 15 minutes of the first episode and turned it off. It was a lot different than I thought based on the IMDB description. I thought it was going to be more like a reality porn game show...if that makes any sense. It was kind of nasty. Nothing I would have on my “recently watched” list for my wife to see anyway ? -
McBeane Confidence
Johnny Hammersticks replied to The Real Buffalo Joe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This. Yes, I think McD & Beane can improve the offense in the offseason such that we will notice a marked improvement in 2019. 2018 is a wash, folks. Come to grips with that now. -
Reggie Ragland trade a win for Buffalo
Johnny Hammersticks replied to Zerovoltz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Interesting. I have watched at least 4 Chiefs games this year, and Ragland has looked like he has always looked. Slow and a liability in pass coverage. So much so that he is now losing snaps to a rookie. I’d be interesting to see his snap count from the last game, as I don’t think I even saw him in the 4th quarter. -
Media trying to get McDermott fired.
Johnny Hammersticks replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Allen sure is the biggest piece in this puzzle. Teller, IMO, has shown enough to be a good depth player if needed...potential starting potential in the future. Siran Neal has played in all 7 games this year in a good secondary. Not bad for a 5th rounder. Nate Peterman? Well, you can’t hit on them all. Overall, I think Beane/McD have done a very nice job with the draft. -

This team has proven to be able to hit on later draft picks. Matt Milano (5th) and Taron Johnson (4th) are good examples. -
Theory about Raiders/Gruden
Johnny Hammersticks replied to The Real Buffalo Joe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Refuse to pay one of the best pass rushers/defensive players in the NFL. Trade of of the better young WR’s in the NFL. Openly state that your franchise QB is “available” for trade. Essentially they traded 2 proven assets for 2 first round draft picks which are not going to be guaranteed “hits.” I think this is less about the best interest of he team, and more about making this Gruden’s team. -

Ummmm....got us out of salary cap hell. Have had 2 very successful drafts....hitting on a couple late-round gems. Accumulated 10 draft picks and counting for 2019. Yeah, Beane and McDermott haven’t done anything. -

At least the new regime was smart enough to move him early and recoup as much as they could before people actually figured out that he was terrible.
