I Don’t Have Time for a Cold!
Johnny Hammersticks replied to Johnny Hammersticks's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Okay, so just an update because I know many of you lost sleep last night thinking about my well being. Last night was tough. I slathered my whole body with Vick’s like grandma used to do, took a couple shots of night time cold medicine, and drank a cup of tea with honey before bed. I was coughing my brains out for most of the night, and then all of a sudden (I think around 4 or 5) I just fell fast asleep. Woke up at around 8:30. I feel a bit better this morning. Although my nasal congestion is still bad and I’m still coughing, my body just feels better. I have to take my son to 2 hockey games today. We travel up to Burlington here shortly for a noon game, and then over to Hanover, NH for a late-afternoon game. Time to venture out into the cold. People, please send your thoughts and prayers. -
If Isaiah’s Dad is anything like Taurean Thompson’s Mom, we have a 50/50 chance ?

What? I can’t reach out to my friends for cold remedy tips? Are you too much of a man to take Zicam? Don’t you ever pee sitting down? Reported I haven’t used cannabis for years...not sure who you’re thinking about. But I have heard that THC is good for treating Neuroses ?? -

I bathe in Purell all day long brah. I need to remember to take my multivitamin tonight. -
It’s that time of year. Cold and flu season. And working in schools, I am constantly exposed to every bug/cold/flu that comes through. Nasty little buggers....those kids. Anyway, I have a cold. Sinus infection and cough with no chest congestion. I want to kick this thing’s ass this weekend. Started on Zicam every 3 hours as soon as I felt a sniffle, taking Mucinex to manage the symptoms, and drinking tons of water. Any other suggestions that would help me knock this thing out by Monday morning? I have a lot to do next week, and I don’t want to still be sickly.

Great analysis here. And very consistent with what I’m hearing from people in the know. My main guy who is almost always right is getting tired of me texting him for Isaiah updates, finally responded yesterday after he got back from Hawaii ? “Dude, I have no idea. Honestly. No one does. The only thing I’ve heard is that the coaching staff legit feels like they have a chance.” This is is a strange recruitment. I’ll cross my fingers, as IJ would be a huge get for this program.

They recently had youth hunting weekend here in Vermont. Essentially, if the kid can read well enough to pass the written test and completes the safety course, they can go hunting (and harvest one deer) with a licensed adult hunter. I think it’s a great program, as many of my friends have kids who participated this year. The one thing that rubs me the wrong way is the size of some of the deer I see in the back of trucks. I’m talking doe the size of a small black labs. Not sure how I feel about that.

She's a biter and frustrated

How’s she bite off his jimmy through his pants? -
If you find that special guy, I will be there with cash in hand my friend!

Always at least $100 cash if I get invited to a wedding (even if I don't attend). I typically shell out $300 for a close friend or family member.

Isn’t it interesting that there hasn’t been a 247 crystal ball prediction for Isaiah Jackson since 10/22? His people are really holding this very tight to the vest. I keep hearing Kentucky lean but Syracuse is still “in it.” We’ll find out this weekend.

Prostitution arrests: Jacksonville FL style

I’m guessing these girls work the Mon-Wed lunch shift. -
It’s sad, really. I’ve been noticing Carey reacting to some negative stuff about him on Twitter, and this was even before the UVA game. He clearly is an insecure kid, and you can see it in his game. My hope is that JC responds well and remains a good teammate. Finish out the season and enter the transfer portal if need be, but I hope he does it right. Good kid, overall.

Still need lots of polish, but the defense and shooting was much better. JG3 just brings a palpable energy to the game every time he checks in for Carey. He looks the part of a major D-1 PG, and while Carey has a lot of talent, he just does not seem to be mentally tough enough. Lacks confidence...easily shaken. I feel bad for the kid, but I’ve been saying since summer time that Girard was going to will his way to that starting spot. Nice to see lots of kids get minutes in the 2nd half. Guerrier finally showed some stuff offensively. Sidibe looked pretty solid. I’d like to see Goodine get some minutes at SG....which he might have at the very end last night. Good bounce back game.

I farted in your thread. -
There is a fine line between playing reckless and playing uninhibited. Clearly, Josh Allen has been holding back this season, and I think this has been by design. They need to do a combination of both strategies. Teach him and encourage him to be a pocket passer as much as possible, but give him license to let it rip (on the ground or through the air) if it’s there. I think he’s stagnating and frustrated.

He does well to shave around that thing.
