Why would we ever NOT want the Bills to win, especially against New England. Makes no sense.

Hate to say it..... (QB situation)

What would you like them to do and who would you like them to hire? -
I don't know. It sounds ludicrous that the NFL would be able to orchestrate a widespread program that favors any team. But it does seem to happen in their favor over and over and over again.

NE got another gift TD on a terrible PI call in the endzone. It's truly amazing how often they get those.

Playoff possibilities NFL and draft order

Totally agree. Win out and keep it rolling next year. -
Buffaloes track record of letting guys go in FA is pretty good. When was the last time we let a guy go that lived up to the contract he got? Nate Clements? Convinced the only way some people on this board would ever be satisfied is if Buffalo was allowed a higher salary cap and spent to it year after year.
-
I am so glad you wrote that about "loose". I've been seeing that all over the board the last few weeks and was certain it was some kind of inside joke. I am still not convinced that it's not. I can't believe that many people would purposely spell "lose" that way.

High hopes, low expectations.

I think it goes without saying that if the Bills were more competitive that the games would almost always be sold out. I remember when the season was sold out early on. It would be very interesting if the team built a new, smaller stadium (perhaps downtown or niagara falls). If that was the case and the team was good, I guarantee it would almost always be sold out.

I was just on Pro-Football-Reference checking out his career. They have an interesting section at the bottom of each player page that lists other players at the same position that at the listed point in their careers, are good comparisons. Stafford's is pretty interesting. 4 Steve McNair, Joe Montana*, Michael Vick, Greg Landry, Tobin Rote, Tony Romo, Philip Rivers, Josh Freeman, Randall Cunningham, Troy Aikman* What does "similar" mean, according to PFR? Players who's career was of similar quality and shape.

From what I've seen, Stafford is an animal. I know he's prone to mistakes, but the kid is 25. His statistics (I know, I know, not the only thing that matters!) are pretty darn good. He's got 9 game winning drives. He's thrown 108 TDs in 59 games. I just think that it's shortsighted to call a kid of 25 who has unlimited potential and has shown a good amount of success a bad QB. Let's not forget, in terms of terrible franchises the Lions are in worse shape than the Bills. The primary reason they are better now is because of Stafford.

I was kidding man

Newton = Definitely. He actually might be top 3. Not sure about Kaep. I am not sold on him. I mean, I would love him on the Bills but not sure I like him as a top 10 QB. I will admit I don't watch the Lions that often. Maybe I'm just mesmerized by the beautiful spirals and cannon arm. I also liked Jeff George so take it for what it's worth.

There would definitely be guys I'd take before Stafford, I just think he's up there. Prior to Stafford I'd probably take: Luck (as you said) Rogers Wilson (maybe) Ryan (maybe) Brees (probably not because he's getting a little older, but I'd consider it) It always amazes me how quick everyone is to hold QBs to unrealistic standards. The guy can flat out play. He will learn from his mistakes. The comeback he had this year (I think against Dallas) was a thing of beauty.
-
I highly doubt it. I'm not saying I'd take him number 1, but he'd definitely be in the top 10. When you combine talent, arm strength, on field production, wins, and age, he's close to the top of the list. How many mistakes have each of made at our jobs when we were 25 and younger?
-
Exactly. If I was starting a franchise from scratch I'd take stafford over almost any other QB in the league right now.
-
Definitely going to be interesting. He's got to be on the radar for Buffalo. In theory it sounds awesome. He's been uber productive on a great team. Fits a huge need for Buffalo. Probably value around our draft slot. If the kid put on some more muscle maybe he'd be the next JGraham.
-
I'm no scout so it's tough to say. Love the idea of having a big WR. In fact I think it's a primary need for Buffalo. My concern from this video is that he seems really slow to me. How's he going to stack up against studs week in a week out.

The Sanchez Butt Fumble was one of the greatest plays in the history of the NFL. Greatness like that cannot be overstated. -

Ah...misread that. My bad. I was thinking it was weird to pick arbitrary dates like that but now I understand. -

But...but...but.......he stinks....fails eye test......Jacksonville was trying to lose for a better draft pick.....our WRs are so good they bailed EJ out....we are only 5-9.....Trent Ryan Losman....short circuiting...... -

Taking the first QB in the draft and with your first round pick is not putting a priority on getting a QB? I mean, you may not like the results, but it's obviously a priority for Buffalo. -

I think you are way too negative on EJ. That being said, I'm not totally opposed to the idea of drafting another QB, even at 1. IMHO, having a franchise QB is exponentially more impt than anything else. If the FO isn't sold on EJ, they then have an obligation to do what they can to get that guy. What they can't do is hitch their wagon to EJ soley because they don't want to look bad. It's a tough call. Glad I'm not an NFL GM. -

I agree. It's basically impossible to know whether or not EJ is the guy at this point. He's had good games and he's had bad games. Pretty much what you'd expect from a rookie. What baffles me is how people constantly talk about teams tanking to get better draft picks. I would love for someone to explain exactly how a team would execute this. It's impossible. Players and coaches are aways 'interviewing' for their jobs. They will take any opportunity to show progress, even if it's a good game against buffalo or Jacksonville. So diminishing this win because Jacksonville was 'tanking' for a better draft pick is patently absurd.
