  1. If Pettine was in charge, there is no way he'd have let Da'Rick Rogers go! Sorry, just combining the two longest recent threads….
  2. What in Gods name does this translate to in English. Twitter is evil
  3. Lots of posters reaching for the cyanide pill right now.
  4. It sucks, yes. Frustrating, yes. But for once Buffalo didn't really do anything wrong here. The disaster that is Cleveland torpedoed us. That being said, the entire fate of the Bills is in the hands of who's under center. With that improved defense we didn't see a change in the record for the better from last year. It's all about the QB.
  5. Teams lose coordinators all the time. It's a setback but not a huge one. No reason to jump to conclusions on who buffalo hires as a replacement.
  6. Article makes it sound like it would be an outside the org replacement.
  7. Haha. The Blizzards would make a strong bid for a WC spot in '14. Just need a QB. Three first round picks will help though.
  8. Haha. It's kind of funny when you think about it. Two crappy franchises and their crappy franchise moves. All about QB for us in 2014
  9. I've said it once and I'll say it again: the only thing that matters for the Bills is EJ improving or getting a real franchise QB. Everything else is marginal by comparison.
  10. Eh... It's a setback if true, but it's an obstacle Marrone should be able to get over. It's not like Pettine is Vince Lombardi. Whaley and Marrone have work to do. They better step up and do it right
  11. The Buffalo PaulaAbduls: one step forward and two steps back It would be better for both Clevelnd and Buffalo if they merged franchises and played in Erie. Change the name, everything. The Rust Belt Blizzards
  12. Also was likely mentioned somewhere in the thread, but Wade Phillips would be a nice replacement for Pettine
  13. Wow. Ebron's highlight tape makes the Evans one look like a joke. I can get on team Ebron
  14. I am sure that somewhere in this thread this was mentioned, but I couldn't read through the whole thing to find out. How ironic would it be if the Bills lost Pettine to the Browns. The most likely reason Chud was fired was because the Buffalo defense knocked out Hoyer for the season and the team pretty much collapsed after that.
  15. I am not sure, but this excerpt from his Bills projection might harm his credibility a little: I feel better about this being the pick than any other in the top 10. I like their talent at all levels of the defense, and they have playmakers at every other skill position on offense. They need a tight end, and Ebron will be the guy.
  16. Unfortunately 100% correct
  17. The other thing that bothers me in how people are describing this is that you either have to have a boring interview or a Sherman one. Such a false choice. People can be honest and interesting without being boring or an A-hole. The extremes are just dumbing down the conversation.
  18. Sherman is a very good corner. He made a great play in about the biggest moment possible. You really can't take anything away from him on the field. His behavior after the play and after the game was a joke. He should be embarrassed. It's the culture nowadays, so I am not too surprised how people see past it or justify it by the actual play, but there is really no excuse. We have no standards of behavior anymore. The only standard is getting noticed, getting attention. It's pathetic really. When he grows up and looks back on what he said, no doubt he will be ashamed of his post game behavior.
  19. Easy: 1) I said before the game my position was not dependant on his play this coming week. 2) The verdict on Rogers as a player in the NFL won't come for a while. Likely a couple years. 3) pointing out his catch in the wild card game was just an example of the talent he has. 4) A team desperate for legit playmakers on the outside has nothing to lose by keeping a guy who has that potential instead of a almost any other deep depth player on the team. 5) it's no risk because if he refuses to work hard or becomes trouble again, you cut him and lose nothing. TC (IMHO) is not enough time to make that assessment.
  20. Making the argument that the Bills made the right decision because Rogers didn't have a catch or made a couple drops yesterday is like saying global warming doesn't exist because of the Polar Vortex. The conclusion may be right or wrong, the reasoning is significantly flawed.
  21. Ugh. The simpletons are out in full force today. Let's make two separate threads. One for those who want to discuss how the bills should build a roster and the idea of risk v reward. Then the second can be for the intellectually challenged and impatient and see who screams the loudest or snarkiest about Da Rick being good or not.
  22. Agreed on point 1. What I meant in point 2 was that a guy who's more heady and knows the offense better is likely to make up the talent gap against plain vanilla defenses. I think the QB position is a perfect example of this point. A guy with limited physical talent can look good when he knows what the defense is going to do. When the live bullets start flying, then you need a guy with both. In Rogers case, I think that the coaching staff needs to understand the kid was playing low level ball and relying solely on his physical talent against low-level competition prior to his entry into TC. Therefore he's going to need some time to acclimate himself to the NFL, and I don't believe a first ever TC is enough time for a guy of his physical talents. I like this conversation. Lots of excellent points, very little snark. It's like being at the bar with a few of your closest and most respected friends and having a meaningful conversation. Many of the other threads are like being on Chipp at 3am trying to navigate the blacked-out drunks (something I haven't done in a couple decades).
  23. I agree. When opponents run plain vanilla defenses, like in preseason, it's a little easier for below average receivers to shine.
  24. If Buffalo went 10-6 and made the playoffs there would be 0 pages of Da'Rick Rogers threads
  25. True. What I disagree with is the fit. Our staff decided it wasn't a fit. Doesn't mean they were correct. Like I said a few time, I like them. In fact I can envision the likely scenario in which the decision was made to cut him. I just happen to think that they put too much stock in "the Marrone Way". Got caught up too much in a "culture" and made a mistake.
