  1. Yeah I think that 4 pre-season games is ideal. Game 1- Warm up couple of drives for the starters, and tons of snaps for unproven and second string guys Game 2- More snaps for starters who are starting to warm up for the season and still ton of snaps for the bench players. Game 3- Official Warm up for the season starters play most of the game dress rehearsal, primary backups get some work in. Game 4- A couple drives for the starters to stay fresh and then the last chance for players to make the roster. Games 1 and 4 are mostly for the backups but it allows for games 2 and 3 to be the primary for the starters. It makes sense to me overall. If they cut it to two pre-season games it makes it means less reps overall. Yeah pre-season sucks but its a needed evil.
  2. Pro Football Prospectus ranked Moulds 1998 season as one of the best seasons by a wide receiver since they kept stats (Early 90's is when they started their metrics). Granted this was 2009 but still that's still pretty dam impressive and I bet that season still ranks up there.
  3. McGee if placed on this wouldn't be eligible to return for 8 weeks. Don't know how sever his injury is.
  4. Simple question where do you see the Bills going this season? Over 8.5 wins or under 8.5 wins? Personally I see them going 9-7 so I will take the over but I don't think 9-7 makes the playoffs. I think you need 10 wins to be in play for a wildcard spot, but if 9-7 would at least be a step in the right direction and the Bills will be relevant come December.
  5. Bad video to show off Lee Evans former speed, that catch against the Cards he had in the 2008 season was much better.
  6. The way the Williams deal is structured is very cap friendly and there is plenty of fat on the roster that could be cut salary wise. I also don't think players like Peppers and Dansby would have wanted to come here. Part of the appeal for M.Williams was not only the money but also that the Bills were that much closer to winning now then two years ago. My big issue with Nix and Gailey was the 2010 off-season. The free agency haul was A.Davis and D.Edwards not exactly the best guys, and the draft seems to have been a bust with Troup and Carrington not panning out so far, and Spiller not being that dynamic back everyone thought. Had Nix been able to get better free agents and draft better I think we would be that much closer to the playoffs.
  7. With Merriman being released (And Florence earlier in the off-season, and T.Thigpen too) they could likely resign Levitre and Byrd without and major issues. They then could release Brad Smith or someone else making too much and handle Urbik and whoever else with the remaining cap space.
  8. Chan has to win 9 or more games for his job to be safe 8-8 or below the Jauron line 7-9 isn't going to cut it. Even for Nix I think you would have to consider letting go if they can't get to .500.
  9. Jets D is better till proven otherwise, but the Bills D has potential for sure to be as good or better. Even if the Jets D is better, the Bills offense is light years ahead of the Jets offense.
  10. Its not that Cooley is that great but rather we are razor thin at TE. I wouldn't mind the move as I have no idea who our backup TE is going to be. Cooley is 30 but right now a on the downside Cooley should be better than what we have behind Chandler.
  11. It talked about the Pistol offense being something that could possibly catch on as the latest fad in NFL offenses. Seemed interesting, Chan is an innovative mind for sure, but lets hope he puts it all together.
  12. Combo of a lot of things hurt our deep passing game. 1- Fred Jackson went down, we run a lot of our offense around the guy. (Kept a lot more teams honest) 2- E.Wood and D.Bell injuries and the declining play of the offensive line. (Fitz couldn't get the protection he once had) 3- D.Jones and receiver injuries (D.Jones was making big plays with Fitz, he got hurt and other receivers got hurt too, what speed we had got hurt). 4- Teams adjusting to our offense (Defenses played things differently thanks to the above factors) 5- Fitz's injury (That likely didn't help things) It was a lot of things that led the offense to decline in the second half of last season. But a lot of it is health related, a healthy O-line and receiving core would go a long way for Fitz. But also its up to Chan and Fitz to adjust the offense.
  13. Who the hell is our backup Tightend? Seriously we are razor thin at that position, I think it would be a good move to sign the guy or at least gauge the guys interest.
  14. Before we lament not taking Wilson can we please see the guy play in games that matter? I am not saying R.Wilson will or won't be a good NFL QB but the jury is still out on both these guys. We needed help at WR TJ Graham fit the bill of the type of player we were looking for. IF TJ goes out and catches 40+ balls and makes a few big plays I think we got a good impact out of a 3rd round pick year one.
  15. Colin Cowherd is a grade A moron for sure. Last year with his NFL predictions he had the entire NFL going 55 games above .500. The guy just sucks.
  16. I am sorry but T.Jackson should not take Fitz's job unless Fitz gets hurt. T.Jackson sucks as a starter I watched him with the Vikings (My brother and father are both Vikings fans and from what I saw the guy is just way too inconsistent). I like him as a backup because the guy can manage a game if that's what the gameplan calls for (Took the Vikings to the playoffs being a game manager) and can make a couple plays. But T.Jax can't go out there week in and week out and make big time plays. He also will make turnovers the moment he has to go out there and make a come back. T.Jax is better than what we had but the guy shouldn't be starting for more than a couple of games.
  17. Not a bad idea, Stevie, TJ, Nelson, and D.Jones are really the only locks on the roster at WR could use him.
  18. One of those change of scenery type trades, low risk move for the Jets that could pay off as it was garbage for garbage type trade.
  19. Each team gets made fun of, its a roast for the entire NFL. Take it for what it is. I love the comments from fans, they sound like some posts from here.
  20. I bet he lands somewhere, quite a few teams are looking for WR's. I think the Jets might take a flyer.
  21. Its easy to say who we should have drafted three seasons after. Ugh I was on record during the 2010 draft saying we should have drafted Terrance Cody but who knows how he would have done here.
  22. No but Davis is a good young talent to get for a 2nd round pick. In 2-3 years when the Colts are likely going to have rebuilt the roster around Luck Davis is still going to be on the team and in his prime. Good move for the Fins to get a good asset to help rebuild the team.
  23. I agree its make or break or Fitz this season, if he can't get it done this season (Winning record at the very least).I do think that what we have seen from this offense in the pre-season isn't exactly what we will be getting from them in the regular season.
  24. If this is for anything more than a 7th rounder I will be disgusted (Its rumored to be a 5th or 6th). T.Jackson is a pretty decent backup but marginally better than what V.Young is. I would have preferred to have kept Young. But if T.Jackson starts more than a game or two this team is screwed. T.Jackson can win you a game or two but over the stretch of a full season the guy's limitations are just blatant. I would just keep VY and put the kibosh on this deal to get Jackson, no need to give up a pick for a marginal upgrade at backup QB.
  25. Honestly I put it on the secondary that Big Ben was allowed to pick us apart on that one drive. They were keeping 7 in protection against 4 guys. That's not really the D-lines problem to get to the QB 4 vs 7 is unfair. But its up to the secondary to be able to cover 3 receivers with 7 players.
