  1. Its all potential right now, The D-line, the young secondary even Sheppard, Moats, Brandham at LB. Its all looks like it can be very good, but it has to be seen on the field first. Right now I think A.Williams will struggle early on in the season. I like what I have seen from McKelvin out of the slot and Gilmore and I know Mcgee can be capable if he gets on the field. I think A.Williams will be the subject of many TBD posts for this season, in a bad way. Check back 8 games in the season and we will know just how good this secondary is, or at the very least have a good idea. Even Gilmore could still struggle at times.
  2. HUGE ITS FREAKING HUGE. If our D can't stop the Jets mess of an offense its going to be a long season. Our offense is also getting a good test, the Jets D is stacked. If we couldn't move the ball on them I wouldn't be worried. But if we are able to do a good job against a top 10-5 caliber Jets D then I think we could be in a good position to make the playoffs. Its a lot on the line. Its a division game one that if we want to make the playoffs winning it would go a long way. Our D needs to dominate and our O gets a good early test. If we lose the sky won't be falling but it would be a step back. I maintain we need to be 3-0 heading into that Pats* game week 4. Jets, Chiefs (At home), and Browns are all winable games and considering its at the Pats* week 4 going in with a 3-0 record and momentum would be huge.
  3. I think for once in a long time the season really matters. In the Jauron days and the last two seasons under Chan we have always been a underdog, a team that was always a year away. So it didn't feel like too much was on the line for the Bills, if we lost hey we were expected to lose, and if we won well then hey. But this year We are expected to make a serious bid for the playoffs. There is a lot on the line this season, If we go 6-10 or 7-9 we could be looking at a long road ahead of the franchise. But a 10-6 wildcard birth could be huge for the team. I have a lot of nervous energy for this season. And it doesn't help that our opener is against a team that we will likely be competing for in regards to a playoff spot. Its a huge game, can't wait.
  4. First off it was one game, and the Giants D isn't a referendum on our D. I honestly think that while the Giants D-line is much more proven, our D overall is much better in the secondary (Esp with the injuries that they have at CB) which I think is a huge difference. Byrd and Wilson are one of the best safety tandems in the league, and our CB's while certainly unproven are much better than the Giants second stringers. Although both teams linebacking cores are about the same (Mediocre) but our secondary is much much better. Right now I am much more confident in our D and the way its constructed.
  5. Look deeper on the depth chart, he is rated a 68 so he is one of the worst rated receivers on the team. Plays well out of the slot because he is big and his catch rating is high. I put him as my number 3, guy plays better than his rating.
  6. If the Bills put together a couple good seasons together I think the value will be close to if not over a billion. Right now if the Bills were a stock their value would be really low. I am surprised how high the Redskins are compared to a team like the Steelers.
  7. Branch is washed up. The Pats* know him best and Brady is one of his best friends. If the guy had anything significant left the Pats* would have kept him.
  8. I actually like the idea of a last place game better, kind of like the Sacko bowl from the show the league. Bottom 4 teams play against each other you win you are out, you lose you move on.
  9. No team would ever play the game seriously. No team wants to risk injury playing for something other than the Super Bowl or at least regular season games that matter. If in some hypothetical universe the two teams that lost the AFC and NFC title games played each other for a trophy that might has some meaning. I would watch it. But in reality it just wouldn't work due to risking injury so late in the year for well nothing.
  10. Buffalo 21 Jets 10 Bills offense scores twice, Bills D scores a TD or gets a turnover deep in Jets territory that the Bills cash in on. Bills play super conservative ground and pound to keep from turning over the ball. Jets score 10 but its a closer game than the score indicates. I could easily see it being a blowout but I think the Jets D keeps them in the game.
  11. Pats* 12-4 Bills 9-7 Jets 7-9 Dolphins 5-11 Pats* are the favorite in the division but they still have a ****ty D that isn't much improved from last season if improved at all and they now have a very unstable O-line which could expose that offense which had trouble when Brady was pressured. Bills I think the offense will struggle at times due to the lack of a deep threat and Fitz at times not being the most careful of QB's in terms of turn overs. The Bills D will be top half of the league but we have young corners and not the best LB's so its not a rock solid unit but it will push for top 10 in the league. Special Teams also looks like it will be a top 10 unit. Overall I think 9-7 second place but I hope they prove me wrong. Jets- Jets have the best D in the division no doubt, it will be a top 10 unit and could be a top 5 unit. But their offense is just a mess. Tebow will undermine Sanchez and won't be good enough to win as a QB. On top of that they have a shaky O-line, a very sub par reviving core, and not the best running backs. Their D can win them some games but 7-9 will be due to their offensive limitations. Dolphins- The team is rebuilding. Their D has changed schemes and will take a step back, they have a rookie QB, and their offense surrounding their QB is mediocre. 5-11 seems like a good fit for them.
  12. I never understand why they don't just let you dress all 53? 46 players seems kind of small for a professional football team.
  13. Easley really needs more time to just work with the team and within the system. PS makes sense for him to do just that and make the roster if there is an injury.
  14. Brad Smith was actually a pretty good fourth receiver for the Jets in his last couple seasons there. I think as a 5th WR and as a Wildcat QB he actually makes sense for this roster. I also have to think that Gailey has some sort of plan for Smith during the season to add a wrinkle to the offense. Either an expanded role of the wildcat or some trick plays involving end arounds and him throwing. So far Gailey has shown he likes versatility and Smith has that down, 1- 5th WR 2- Wildcat QB 3- Return Man 4- Can fill in on some special teams 5- Emergency QB That's five roles Smith has shown he can do, like it or not Gailey sees the value in that.
  15. Dwan was always decent, never anything special but never anything horrid. Prototypical guy you want off the bench but not starting. Honestly S.Johnson being a better player and the upside of A.Carrington made him expendable for us. But the Panthers are a team that needed depth at DT and I can see him starting. The guy had a nice soft landing spot good for him.
  16. That team would likely go 1-15, now if you put that team together 4-5 years ago (With VY as the QB) that team could have won 5-7 games. I still think that a decent amount of those guys will find a team as the season goes along and injuries hit rosters.
  17. Spygate takes him out of the conversation if you ask me.
  18. Players drafted in rounds 5 or later should be on the practice squad unless they really impress in camp. None of our late rounders impressed that much in camp so they were cut and they tried to put them on the PS. Some of our guys are getting claimed not a big deal.
  19. Makes sense Trent can manage a game, always said he would be a good backup. Key word backup.
  20. Heard was a middling DT, not much better or worse than what we already had on the roster. I think S.Johnson is pretty good depth behind Williams and Dareus.
  21. The defense is light years ahead of where it was last year. The offense is healthy and had some minor additions, its going to hinge on the D being good right off the bat and the offense doing close to what it did last year before the wheels fell off.
  22. Chan needs to stop using the empty backfield. At least with four wide and Freddie or Spiller in the backfield you allow for a draw or screen pass to take the edge off of the D. This team seems more smash mouth than Chan has played it in pre-season.
  23. Makes sense to put him as the first LB off of the practice squad. I thought he would have made the roster over White but its a minor thing, I doubt he gets claimed off waivers.
  24. Also Brad Smith is a WR more so than a QB.
  25. True but he is familiar with the staff and I am sure some of the playbook is similar, I wouldn't be opposed to bringing Florence back as a temporary measure.
