  1. Pretty much no more second tier retreads.
  2. I would franchise Levitre I think our O-line is too good a unit to put a hole in it. Byrd would be tough to lose, but I think its going to be easier to sign him if the Bills put up a good offer. God I just hope we tag one of them and get a long term deal done. No need to lose both guys.
  3. B.Rothlisberger E.Manning P.Manning A.Rodgers D.Breese T.Brady That's about 6 all have got a Super Bowl to their name since 2003. I think that they are the elite truly elite. There are some other guys who are pretty good and I think Luck will be joining them soon and RGIII if he stays healthy (A huge if with him) will too. Cam Newton also has potential to be elite but can he put it all together? Matt Ryan and Schuab are good QB's but can they win in the playoffs? P.Manning and Brady are likely gonna be on their way out soon as both are in their mid 30's and subject to decline soon.
  4. AT this point you gotta roll with younger players who you don't know how they are gonna preform. Easley fits that bill if you ask me esp if your got a guy who is hurt.
  5. Jake Long would be a stud at RT, if the market is really down on him at LT and he is far from commanding LT type money I would give him a nice deal at RT. Pears is decent and Hariston has potential but I think Long would be a pro bowl RT year and year out. Combined with a nice interior OL and Glenn at LT our line would be sick. Its not a great need and I think some team would gladly pay LT money for Long.
  6. As an outright free agent yes I would consider him a viable option. But to give up a pick for him plus a huge deal I say pass. I would look into drafting a QB or Matt Flynn in Seattle. Flynn has 2 years at 9 million per, he didn't play himself out of a job in Seattle Wilson just took the job from him. Giving up a mid rounder for Flynn would be better than giving up a pick in the first two rounds for Flacco.
  7. I am hoping that they just go 3-1 and go 8-8 finish strong and set up a nice end to the season and make it above the Jauron line.
  8. The guy isn't going to throw his QB and HC under the bus with games still left to play during the season. Nix still wants this team playing hard and buying in. I suspect that Nix is gonna gut a lot of the coaching staff on both sides and that includes Chan. Fitz is up in the air I don't know how the money is on his contract, they may just keep him for one more year in a QB competition sense. But I wouldn't read too much into the comments.
  9. Mario was injured all of last season and hurt his wrist this year its possible that he needed time and that wrist procedure to round back into form. I think he has been much better since the Texans game but these last two he has looked like the way Mario Williams should be playing.
  10. I actually think that the roster is much much better now than it was then its just the coaching is just as terrible. The defense has talent and potential esp on the D-line and in the secondary (Which coming off the Jauron years had almost no talent in the front 7). The O-line is a standout unit far better than what it was under Jauron. The RB situation is still good if not better than what it was under Jauron, the WR's have Stevie and a decent support group of 3 and 4 WR's. Even Chandler at TE is better than what we had at the end of Jauron. It comes down to finding a QB and a coach and fixing a couple of holes on the roster. After Jauron it was an almost complete rebuild outside of the secondary there wasn't a unit on the team that you could say was good. I like to think that the team has much more talent on it that isn't being fulfilled due to the poor coaching.
  11. He is gonna seriously consider taking any HC job offered to him. The Giants D preformed well in the playoffs last year but its been hit or miss both years during the regular season (I think mostly due to their heavy dependence on their D-line to cover for the lack of talent on their D in other areas). Fewell would be a good fit with the personnel we have (D-Line and Secondary have talent) and is familiar with the situation he is going into. Chan has to get the boot after this season and the whole defensive staff too. I am not gonna say Fewell would be the guy I would want but I wouldn't be opposed to hiring him. Considering we don't get the best former HC's I think its best we go the coordinator route and try to strike gold on a guy who is up and coming as opposed to coaches who have had mild success elsewhere and flamed out with good cause.
  12. No doubt we are taking a QB round 1 if there is a QB there. I still think Fitz will be back there as the money is something hard to swallow and they might want a veteran hand much like Hasselbeck with Locker with the Titans.
  13. No Reid is vastly overrated at this point in his career. He passes non stop and can't commit to a ground game. He is like a better version of Chan. I would rather grab and up and coming guy rather than another retread.
  14. Getting those two guys back would be huge team is getting thin and could use the reinforcements. Glenn can take his time, don't get me wrong I want the guy back but not till he is 100% ready.
  15. Its a bold move to bring Merriman back but I think we are at a point where the team needs to make a bold move this is probably the only one we could make on the defensive side of the ball that wouldn't really cost anything.
  16. The season was on a respirator going into this week, with the win we are still alive but we are far from strong. The Titans at home is a must win the way I prognosticate the season is we have a brutal middle part of the schedule the first 3 games (Jets, Chiefs, Browns) was pretty easy (Which is why I thought that that loss to the Jets was so bad because had we started out 3-0 it would have put the team in a much better position to survive the middle portion of the schedule). But after a relatively easy first 3 weeks we then had a brutal part of the schedule with the Pats*, 49ers (Away), Arizona (Away Which looked like an easy game but suddenly turned into a not so easy matchup), Titans (Which is win-able but much more so a toss up), Houston (Away), and Pats* (Away). That's a 6 game stretch that's just brutal, two west coast games the Pats* twice plus another tough top AFC team in the Texans away. But then the last 7 games of the schedule looks much better Miami twice (Not a slam dunk we should be favored type game but games that the Bills could win without it being considered a major upset), Jacksonville at home (A team that we matchup well against a game we should win), @Indy (A game we could win, Luck is a rookie and the Colts D isn't very good), St.Louis (A home game we should be favored to win), Seattle (In Toronto a game that we will likely be underdogs in but its not hard to see a victory going up against a rookie QB), and @Jets (A Jets team that blew us out but is now missing Revis and Holmes and could be torn apart by Tebow by week 17 a game that like Miami we can win) Even at 4-5 we could go 5-2 in the last 7 games (Jacksonville and St.Louis we should be favored to win, and the Colts, Fins, and Jets games are more than winable, even Seattle is not impossible) which would put us at 9-7 a winning record and a crack at the playoffs.
  17. If the defense is playing well and CJ and Freddie are running the ball we can play conservative and win games. Problem is that the defense doesn't seem to bend it break once things go wrong. If the D can get tougher and the running game stay consistent I think we can win games with Fitz as a manager of the game. But the problem is once you just have your QB as a "manager" it limits your offense and teams will force you to throw it deep or that puts a **** load of pressure on your defense and we see how that can go for our D. Fitz will have to win games our D isn't that good. Can Fitz do it? I guess we have 10 more games to find out.
  18. I think they all play. You never know with Belicheat he always puts players on the injury report. Remember when Brady was always probable or questionable with some non-existent shoulder injury? If Mankins or Volmer can't play its great for us but I think they do play.
  19. If you watched the Bills this season you will know that they haven't gotten run on at all this season. The pass rush has been inconsistent but the run D has been pretty stout. I have never at all this season thought that the Bills run D has been terrible. Even if you think all 3 teams are terrible at running then you have to be able to shut them down. Last year even the terrible running teams were running all over us. I think that the Chiefs are a pretty good running team and we shut them down. Richardson is a pretty good back too, its just his team can't pass around him so he gets shut down because teams won't let him beat him.
  20. Yeah double teamed on just 4 plays and chipped on another 7 sounds like a underestimate. Granted I haven't gone back to watch each and every play but in that KC game I saw at least 4 double teams off the top of my head. I could also think of a handful of times in the other two games where he was doubled. Not saying Mario is doing great (That first game he was invisible) but over the last two games he has at least been a presence on the D-line drawing double teams and getting pressure. Mario is going to have to show what he is worth against the Pats* for sure. I think we can make a solid judgement come week 6 how Mario is actually doing in terms of pass rush.
  21. Its going to come down to two things 1- Can the front 4 get pressure on Brady (We aren't going to get 4 INT's off him again) 2- Can Fitz make plays Belicheat is smart he is going to try and stop the run and force Fitz to throw. As for stopping Brady well the front 4 is the key, tons of money and a high draft choice went into building it lets see if it can do what its designed to.
  22. If Freddie is able to go, I think they hold him out for the week. Spiller is a smaller guy, I think they play it safe with him. Granted if Freddie can't go I think they use CJ but as long as Freddie is good to go I think they will use him and Choice. You don't want to risk Spiller for the rest of the season just to rush him back.
  23. That actually would be good, although I think separating the Ravens and Steelers would make a lot of people frown as that's been one of the better modern rivalries (Past 10 years or so). Still the Ravens would easily develop new rivalries with the Pats* (Who they already have a rivalry brewing) and the Jets (Who can pretty much be a rival with anyone). I wouldn't be opposed to the switch, but I don't think that the NFL is in the mood for any realignment. There doesn't seem to be any unnatural placements or need. But swapping the Bills and Ravens wouldn't be a terrible idea.
  24. The Chiefs gave up a late pick for him it wasn't a Jon Gruden type deal where they gave up massive picks for him. Herm basically got the KC job because the NFL coaches and GM's are basically a big frat house, its tightly knit, if you had even a modest amount of success somewhere its going to get you another shot. Herm was the epitome of average with the Jets, but KC was desperate for a HC and Herm knew the right people. Now after having 2 crappy seasons with the Chiefs and one one and done playoff appearance he has used up that second chance unless he wants to be a coordinator.
