  1. Good pick Bills have needed a kicker for a least a couple of seasons now, Lindell use to be a guy who was excellent inside 40, very reliable 41-46, and able to make a field goal 47-52 a decent amount of the time. His range topped out in the early 50's. But now anything in the mid 40's is dicey and its almost impossible for the guy to hit 50. Having an accurate kicker who tops out at 50 yards is not a bad thing but Lindell is no longer that guy.
  2. I liked David Nelson... but we went from completely devoid talent outside of Stevie to having a lot potential there. Overall I still think it could be rough at WR but its good that the Bills tried to address this position. TJ could also have a better impact in his second year too. Hopefully putting two high picks and taking a chance on a high potential UDFA pays off.
  3. Love this pickup as a UDFA, low risk high reward and exactly the type of receiver we need big and fast.To burn a pick on such a volatile guy would have been a mistake but the talent is too enticing too not take a flyer on. Even with Goodwin and Woods we still need some depth and talent at WR and we really could use a big body. The worst case scenario is we cut the guy, best case is we get some talent at a position we need help with.
  4. Wish they thought about going with a guard or tightend here but its a 5th rounder can't complain too much probably going to want him to play special teams, maybe they aren't high on Searcy.
  5. Say what you will about this draft but the Bills with their 1st 4 picks really targeted the key positions that were lacking on the roster. Team desperately needed a QB, MLB, and some WR's they got them (Wither or not they are any good remains to be seen). Good to see them add a good talent at WR in the UDFA process guy has talent that should have been drafted a lot higher
  6. I don't hate the pick. Big arm, mobile, healthy, and some of his flaws might be coachable. My major concern is his accuracy is described as above average but not great but not great and his mechanics need some work. I keep hearing that mechanics are coachable but in recent years few QB's have been able to change mechanics. Throw in that his accuracy might be a concern and I am officially wait and see on this guy. I would have loved this pick had the Bills been able to trade down just a few more picks. Trade down to the early to mid 20's pick up a extra 2nd or 3rd and another late rounder and it would have helped this team a lot. Still loved the original trade down.
  7. My only issue with taking EJ was we could have made one more trade down and still got EJ. If you felt like there was going to be a huge run on QB's come the beginning of round 2 you could have easily traded back to the early to mid 20's and gotten EJ. adding another 2nd or 3rd plus picking EJ would have been a coup. Having 3 2nd rounders or 2nd's and 2 3rd's plus another 6th would have been excellent. The EJ pick is going to make the Bills look like morons or secret geniuses. Just glad we made the initial trade down. Two somewhat early seconds and a third should help fill some holes on this roster. Still would have been nice to add a couple of more picks before taking EJ.
  8. Pretty much also what method would you have college players enter the league? You would run into the problem the league had before the rookie pay scale. The top 40-50 college players would demand huge salaries without having to play a down and it throw off the competitive balance of the league. I don't see the draft as broken, I see it more so as being less effective because the talent pool is much deeper.
  9. I think it is counted, remember that's an estimate so I think the cap number would factor that in.
  10. Here is the only scenario I can see us taking a guard.is if we make a couple of trade downs. A guard like Cooper or Warmack at pick 25ish while picking up an extra 2nd and 3rd. So many needs a rock at guard would be nice but far too many pressing needs to spend a high pick on one esp when Buddy has proven to be able to find guards later in the draft.
  11. I would much rather have Nassib in round two Barkley seems soft
  12. Would be a guy worth taking at 8, imagine having him and Mario Williams lining up at OLB,
  13. Sounds like it could be a nice little signing. Nothing Earth shattering but these are the signings that really round out a roster.
  14. People have to stop thinking that the Vikings are going to trade both 1st to trade up. The more likely trade down with the Vikings would be 23 this year, 52 this year, their 6th, and a 3rd next year (they have an extra one form the Seahawks next year). That's 15 spots for a 2nd, 6th, and a 3rd next year. Seems much more plausible than 2 firsts.
  15. I would be all for it, the Bills have so many needs would say their 1st this year (Duh) 1st next year, 2nd this year, and a 5th this year and they can trade up from 30 to 8. I would love for the Bills to trade down to 13 and get an extra 3rd and 6th from Tampa and then trade down with the Falcons for their 1st this and next year plus a third. I know its highly unlikely the Bills could get the 30th, 60th, and 77th picks plus a 1st next year and have 5 picks in the first 77 this year plus net additional late rounders and a 1st in their back pocket next year. But its pre draft so why not dream?
  16. Makes sense I guess, guy didn't seem to be cutting it as a corner and we need a SS. With Gilmore the number one, McKelvin at the slot, and Brooks at the dime maybe they see something with Justin Rodgers.
  17. Well its only two picks their 3rd and 5th to move from 13th to 8th. I think its reasonable although I think it would more likely be a 6th instead of a 5th. But a 3rd and a 6th for 5 spots not a bad trade if there is a guy Tampa really wants.
  18. No way the Vikings give up a first to move up 10 spots maybe they give you their second at best. Trade down with Tampa is reasonable thought
  19. I actually think the Bills are going to avoid drafting a QB in the first three rounds but go heavy on offense. I would like to see WR and TE be the Bills first two picks then draft a OL round 3. Not that Kolb/Jackson is at all a good QB combo but I think that this QB class is so bad that the Bills want no part of it and that they would rather get targets for a QB this year so that next year when they draft a QB he has good tools to work with.
  20. I think the players who get paid by game would have their whole pay check taxed. However if you are hourly or salary its only the hours you work in that state. A lot of people in my company deal with this and they say that very few people are impacted by this because if your company designates your pay a certain way then it won't impact you all that much if at all. Its really the state were you live and were your company is headquartered.
  21. 1- Revis wants to be the highest paid defensive player in the league. 2- It would cost us a substantial package of picks 3- The Jets aren't going to trade him within the division 4- He is coming off an ACL injury. Tampa and the Jets are going to make this move before the draft. No need for the Bills to dump picks and a big contract into this guy.
  22. I think you can take guard off the list, Nix is going to just snatch up a waiver wire player or pluck one of the remaining free agents on the cheap. I also think you can take QB off of the list, Not because we are set but because they are going to pass on this years QB class and just go with Kolb or Jackson. I also don't see a glaring need at RT, Pears or Hariston are viable options. Were I see desperate needs are WR, TE, and MLB and unless we get a trade down I see the first three picks going there. Then maybe a mid rounder on the O-line. The team needs good targets around the QB for any QB to be successful. I see the teams real deficiencies at LB and at targets. Yes QB is always the number one issue but there is no need to burn a pick on a lousy QB class when we can fix other issues and then go after a QB next year.
  23. I would like to think the reason Pettine isn't grabbing a bunch of ex-Jets is because he likes what he has to work with here and he doesn't think the guys the Jets released would be an upgrade over what we have. I still think one of the ex-Jet LB's like Scott or Pace will be brought in on the cheap to be depth and help teach the system but outside of that not much.
  24. TD made good moves and built a strong defense. But for every good move TD made he made two bad ones. He brought Takeo Spikes, Sam Adams, Miloy, London, and drafted Clements Evans and Schobel and trade Price for a 1st. But TD let Pat Williams go (A move that set us back 5 years). drafted Losman, drafted Reed, drafted McGahee, traded a 1st for Bledsoe, drafted Mike Williams, drafted Parrish, let Winfield walk, and seemed incapable of finding good players at vital positions. Overall TD made a lot of big moves but his success rate was far below what it needed to be.
  25. Too much of a distraction, don't need that on team.
