  1. When I heard Von was trying to work out a reworking of his contract I figured he would stay, but I guess it just wasn't going a way that made sense for both side. I thought Von had a nice 2024, he was far from dynamic player he was in 2022 prior to the injury but he was still a very good rotational DE.
  2. Doesn't Groot's extension lower his cap number?
  3. Locking up Benford would be a very prudent move he’s too valuable to the defense. Always good to lock up your own before they hit the market esp for a guy who’s been a starter for 3 seasons. Take care of Benford and then find some resolution with Cook and then if BBB has got some time McGovern would be a good veteran extension option The concussions are less of a concern because he’s not had a history of them and he’s getting an offseason’s worth of rest immediately after the second concussion happening. That’s a major positive because concussions like many injuries benefit with rest
  4. He's always been banged up so not really stressing about the Bills not getting him or KC signing him. Makes sense for KC to keep him opposite Rice whose coming off a major injury and to have a stable vet with Worthy being in legal trouble.
  5. Good teams retain their own because you get a better deal negotiating against a player whose still under contract for another year (thus you are likely to take a lower deal to avoid getting hurt and tanking your value). The Bills are also not only getting these guys long term locked up on good value but they are also sending a positive message to the locker room that if you produce you will get taken care of.
  6. This was the number I pegged for Groot that was fair to me. He’s not an elite DE but he’s very good and this pays his in that range. I hope he has that Ed Oliver 2023 season where maybe getting the contract eases his mind and he just can ball out. Either way 3 out of 5 drafted 2026 free agents taken care of on reasonable deals. Love to see it, take care of Benford next
  7. Have teams done many restructures and major roster moves? I have seen a few like Devante Adams being released but I haven't seen much news about teams doing restructures and such. But maybe it's being reported and I am just focused on the Bills.
  8. I'm assuming my invitation is in the mail...
  9. Seems like a workable solution to me. The Bills by cutting Von only save 8 million and they probably have to add another 1-2 million added for a additional roster spot Von is no longer occupying. By doing something similar to this type of deal The Bills gain an extra 3 million off the bat and have one more roster spot filled. Von to me last season was still a productive player, he wasn't the elite one sack a game player he was in 2022 prior to the injury (a sack a game playing 55% of snaps is elite, Garrett that year was at the same pack sack wise playing 74% of snaps for reference, of course Garrett is a much better run defender) but Von in 2024 was still producing as a high level rotational DE. If you gain some cap relief by keeping him and you still have a productive DE3 who is a former Super Bowl MVP with 2 rings I don't see the issue with brining him back for one more season. Von's dead cap in 2026 is 9 million a much easier amount to just eat. I'm not too worried about Von eating into Solomon and other DE's snaps. There will be injuries and the Bills play a heavy D-line rotation. Assuming Von is willing to work out a pay cut that saves the Bills 11ish million in cap space (an extra 3 million plus filling one more roster spot could be something like 4-5 million in total savings) he's more than worth being the DE 3/4.
  10. Wonder if this is a sign that Seattle is getting Darnold? Geno's not a franchise guy but he's a "starting" caliber QB. Carroll has a lot of familiarity with him so it makes sense for the Raiders who have nothing at QB to at least get competent QB play esp for a fairly modest price. It kind of allows the Raiders to "punt" on this years QB class which isn't the best and then when they make a move for a QB in 2026 they still have a veteran option in there in Geno to be a stop gap.
  11. He’s a top 10 MLB in the league at age 25, seems like a fair deal
  12. Beane locking up both Bernard and Shakir takes care of 2 out of 5 2026 pending free agents. I suspect Beane is going to try to get one more done at a minimum. Good business so far, paying both players for how they currently are producing but these deals become tremendous bargains if they produce more which they could only entering their 4th seasons.
  13. It wouldn't excite me too much. Maybe if this was paired with an edge rusher at 30 and Bosa is just a stop gap. But Bosa hasn't been a consistently dynamic player for awhile. And while he is just 30 he's been in the league for 8 seasons and banged up the past 3 seasons.
  14. Jones needs to be a backup/rotational player not a starter anymore, no argument from me. But I think he can still be a productive player in a more limited role. There's not much in the way of cap savings by cutting him this year and he's an expiring contract so no need to worry about cap savings in 2026.
  15. Chargers would make the most sense. They need a boundary WR and they fit what DK wants. They also have the cap to absorb a big contract after cleaning up their books in 2024 with a big dead cap number.
  16. I figured when they signed it they would at least have a reasonable out in year 3, usually 3 year deals in the NFL if you don't restructure them the third year is a low dead cap hit if any. Just an odd contract to sign. Jags smartly resetting their roster. Only issue is will you put a lackluster team around Lawrence? B. Thomas is a dynamic piece their RB's are solid but not much else. Maybe just cut all the fat eat all the dead cap and draft mostly offense and use whatever cap dollars you have on adding a piece or two on the offense. You might have a terrible defense but then you can once you clean your books after 2025 you then will have the chance to build back up your defense and add what is missing to the offense.
  17. He will be 32 which is very on the border of past their prime for DT's and he's coming off a season where he was hurt (although he was very durable prior to 2024). I wouldn't hate it for a modest price but I think D.Jones is a solid veteran backup 1-Tech who this team already has under contract and the cap savings on cutting Jones is only 2 million so just on the cap it makes more sense to keep Jones and not sign Hargrave who will still cost some sort of moderate cap hit and might not present that much of an upgrade.
  18. Takes him off the market. Raiders and the organization seem to love him and he is of course a very good player. Onto other options.
  19. I think much like other sports the allure of "youth" and a cheap contract is what drives a lot of value that isn't there.
  20. Just doesn't seem like a proper fit, Bills have two quality slot options in Shakir (one of the best slot WR's in the league) and Samuel. Bills need a WR capable of playing consistently on the boundary. DK would be perfect of course that's gonna come at a cost of draft and cap capital but if a dynamic defensive player isn't on the market at a reasonable price and given that this is a deep defensive line draft class perhaps it is better to trade for DK and solidify the offensive and then tackle the defense with a mid-tier CB via free agency and going heavy in the draft.
  21. Thuney is going to be 33 this season and he's on a big contract. I would imagine that's why he went for such a relatively low cost in terms of draft capital.
  22. Wouldn't hate Adams while investing in a WR in round 2.
  23. From a quick Google Search it has apparently since the NFL expanded to 32 teams has not happened where every team has held its own first round pick going into the draft or at least going into the off-season.
  24. I really like Crosby as a good 3-4 year play, he's going to be 28 and he would give this team a big time "war daddy" pass rusher for 3-4 years which fits the teams needs and allows them some time to develop players behind him. But I honestly don't think the Raiders are going to trade him. Garett at age 30 at a high cost of picks and cap space just seems like too much of a gamble. DK I like a lot but I think the need for a defensive dynamic pass rusher is greater. If I had to rank them. Crosby DK Garrett
  25. In the 4 games Diggs and Nico Collins fully played Collins had 10 more targets than Diggs.
