We are entering a golden age for college football...
boyst replied to GunnerBill's topic in College Football
100% wrong. Just like Title IX helped to kill sports the NIL is making it much worse for the average NCAA athlete. The brief time I ran D1 (Toledo) track and then quit only to have the team disbanded to due numbers of female athletes dropping ilearned a little. The student athlete could not work certain jobs due to lack of time, or simply because of possible rules infractions. 3-4 hour practices/day per sport with 2 days a week study hall of at least 90 minutes consumed all time. The greedy university making money off of the track team? Volleyball? *****...no. The MAC school i went to was like most other MAC schools and barely made money off of the basketball team. The only profitable sport was the football team. Baseball, softball, soccer, etc. didn't make money. Swimming, dive, field hockey...nope. The obscene amounts of money the University made from a pretty darn good football team was spread to other teams. We didn't complain the football team had their own weight room, training staff, etc. The track team shared a staff, locker room, and facilities with the baseball team. The whole idea and statement is so tiresome. Football literally funds the athletic programs of the smaller schools. -
Bile duct cancer... Not good. At all.

Yes. Bills/Rams. They didn't have to give full effort against the niners, but ended up buckling their chin straps up in the second half of the Rams game. If they can go to Detroit like they finished the Rams game we have a chance.
-
it was noticeable that the team had more effort to give in that game than just a normal game and i think often times it matters. the chiefs, for example, can exude and step up their game when required while other teams: ravens, eagles, dolphins, and potentially the Lions do not have that extra step in their ladder to climb. for the record the Bills don't do that - Josh Allen

the golden age flourished and truly was peaking early with Miami, Reggie Bush, USC, to end with Alabama and Nick Saban. -
also divisional rivals throw everything out the window.

Week 15, Bills v. Lions, PREDICT THE SCORE!
boyst replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
this is a team we historically beat regardless of any other factors we have lost to them 3 times since 1991 - in an overtime loss - then in 94 and 06. the bills lead the series 7-4-1. Bills 28-27 -
Davonde Campbell gonna go chase a ring. Smart to go to injured lions.

I thought it was because Belinda used to get mad at people for doing it?

I'm thinking about it, somehow I think it will be perfect for this franchise, this season, and just how things go: I think we finally return a touchdown this week. Indoor stadium, the Lions have a lot of injuries meaning their special teams core unit is full of guys that are newer. Just a hunch, a wild guess, who knows but I see it.

good to see you around! there are some lots up way down Abbott that are worth parking at. Some as low as $20. If you are going West, South, or working your way around to go North they cane be a good option. You can clear traffic in 10 minutes vs. an hour parking further toward the stadium. Meadowland & Abbott has some places that are about a mile away so you'll walk but you get out of traffic so damn fast.

its def got better in the last 5-6 years. covid stalled it, but in '17 i went to a Tigers game and it was just awful. everything was a ghost town around the stadium by 7pm with homeless people and dimly lit everything.

the Bills not having practice due to snow is nothing compared to Detroit still holding practice due to it being Detroit. What a sheethole city.

So I was curious after seeing the Lions injuries and people making a big deal about the large number of players they have reported. I had heard that many of them were backups so I took a look at their depth chart that I could find prior to week 1. Offense: Starters: WRX - Antoine Green (IR) PK - Michael Badgley (IR) Backups: WRZ / PR &KR - Kalif Raymond (IR) RG - Netane Muti (IR) RT - Connon Gavin (IR) Defense: Starters: DE - Aidan Hutchinson (IR) DE - Nate Lynn (IR) DT - Kyle Peko (IR) DT - Mehki Wingo (IR) DT - DJ Reader (Q) DT - Alim McNeill (Q) DE - John Paschal (Q) NB - Ennis Rakestraw Backups: DT - David Bada (IR) DT - Levi Onwuzurike (Q) DE - John Cominsky (IR) LB - Jalen Reeves-Maybin (IR) LB - Derrick Barnes (IR) LB - Alex Anzalone (IR) LB - Malcolm Rodriguez SS - Ifeatu Melifonwu (IR) The primary concern I have for their roster is Hutchinson being soft from a soft school and him being too soft from his soft school to recover. Beyond that their entire DL is in shambles which makes me wonder what Cook can do and we have Kincaid, Shakir, Knox who can go up against a rookie LB and a softened defensive backfield. Kerby Joseph has seen increased playing time and plays dirty.

He took Lombardi, a super bowl winning GM. the guy is going to change the way college football is run. i said in the other thread it will be awesome when he gets his buddies to do: Nick Saban - OC Pete Carrol - Assistant DC Brian Daboll - QB Coach

Where is that a given?

they need to go to seeding style and list it. the MNF game crushes it. every year it should be the 4/5 seed on MNF and it flips between the AFC and NFC. something like: 2nd and 7th Saturday night and Sunday 2nd game 3rd and 6th plays Saturday afternoon and Sunday night 4th and 5th plays Sunday afternoon and Monday night. Each conference flips years.
-
And when we get done with them, they will truly only be black and blue. We gon' beat dat ass.
-
If he brings a pro style office to the NCAA with that guy who helped him in New England then it will be interesting. To get a staff that will scout recruit and do all of that so he doesn't have to necessarily would be huge. I wonder why more colleges don't do this, and now that everybody is just about the money that's about all that matters

The Lions have got to be everyone’s second favourite team…right?
boyst replied to Billsfed1's topic in The Stadium Wall
I lived in Dumpoledo (well outside of it) for a long time and have always appreciated the team. I never met many Lions fans, though. Most folks were Browns fans despite Detroit being 30 minutes away, 45 from us. Outside of Michigan there are very, very few Lions fans. Oddly enough this topic came up at work and we researched it to find the Lions social media pages are more followed than the Bills and they have more fans than the Bills. -
I'll shoot him a text when I get a chancee @26CornerBlitz 🤣🤣🤣🤣 The copy paste buttons of the world have been so happy.
