NFL Kickoff 2025: Dallas at Philadelphia (no Bills discussion, please)
boyst replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall
A lot of action in this game. I keep missing elam. How's he doing? -
I've been saying this all a long. Or, prater does the kickoffs and PAT's and bass field goals for this week Prater is capable of holding it down for 4-5 weeks.

NFL Kickoff 2025: Dallas at Philadelphia (no Bills discussion, please)

These players on the cowboys gotta be heated. I hope they major league Jerry jones and dominate. -
A QB from the 90s and 00's that lasted a long, long time and won a ring starting for the Ravens when they had a murderers row of a defensive unit.
-
How important was dilfer to the victories or defeats?
-
I think he can realize more potential.
-
fwiw i agree with you. talent wise lamar has more than tua because he can run but tua is the better qb. he's not as healthy, however. but lamar and tua are equal, both havne't got the job done when they need to and thus only so great. it's like when people talk about the best qb's of all time. jim kelly would be higher if he had just 1 SB victory. ... let go of things like mark andrews? but, lets be honest... you say he can win a title and be sb mvp. ok, when he is just that we will revisit this discussion. because, i bet ya.... he won't.
-
at what mark do you judge a qb? hurts has a ring. by most measures that brings him into any discussion. the eye test doesn't show that with hurts, i may agree. but if that's the case i would say that with mahomes. mahomes has regressed more than any qb mentioned. burrow is the one who hasn't reached his potential yet. of all those qb's burrow is the one that has more upside than any at this point.
-
if a quarterback was graded like a lineman or any other position than mistakes shoudl count. time and time again lamar chokes. he's got better, sure but the offense is catered to him and he has had the benefit of great talent all around him. the eye test also shows the truth. he doesn't have good field vision, especially early he woudl tuck and run instead of read the play and execute the reads. the eye test doesn't pass the smell test. he's elite, a great football player and possibly one of the best ever but he is not one of the best qb's ever. he's only among the best in the league right now. but so is burrow, allen, hurts, and a few others.

Ravens ran for 187 yards per game. so, 271 is, as i said.... a fluke. 113 yards/game for Henry. 53 for Jackson so, reiterate...199 for henry was a fluke. in the regular season where he did not fnish as the best player in the league he did 54 on the ground and 39 in the post season where he turned the ball over twice. in the playoff game henry got 84, which didn't matter because lamar choked and lost the team the game.

without those two the Ravens actually need to come out attacking short passes, quick routes, and even wheel routes. put speed against our db's, a lot of motion against our banged up cb's and rookies, our slow hamlin, our easily duped bishop, and wear rapp out. run these pass routes early, get jackson his confidence. hell, even come out without huddling against our defense, quick passes all over us. maybe send someone deep. but eventually put henry into action and let him rumble and stumble against our weakened legs. i could share some ideas...?

awe... sweetie. stats are really complicated for some. it's a hard subject. i know philosophical experts like stephen a smiff present grand explanations... but in 2024 the bills averaged 115 yards/game thats with the big run by Henry. traditionally, the bills defense is good against the run. so on average, yes, 199 yards is statistically a fluke. once the bills let the large run break for a TD that meant the bills gameplan was off the script and it fell apart. so that is a football logic and 101 type of thing. are you following? because if i have to go more i will be more abrasive because i don't suffer fools from other teams coming here waving a flag of superiority. not especially when they get beat by the Bills in the playoffs in the last run and you'll likely come back here and pound your chest to the entire internet about how amazing your team is... but, it's sort of the point. you pay to have an affiliation with your team. likely countless dollars, like all of us. you pay with your time, like us, to discuss your favorite team. the difference here between most of us and you? you're on the opposing teams message board stroking yourself off to fill some sort of void in your lack of superiority/confidence to instill that your identity is that of men who will never know your name, wear colors you support, from a town you have some connection to, in a game you probably have not played in 20 years+... so, yeah, sweetheart, spare me that you have an opinion that Lamar JAckson means anything more to you than that of him just wearing purple, black, yellow and red.... because if Josh Allen was your QB you'd be just as willing to go visit him at the truck stop as you would Lamar.

Amari Cooper anyone? (has decided he is going to retire)

That's possible to do. But we also have the best player in the league and you do not. Josh Allen.
-
Yes. To bust a run on the very first place that's over 70 yards is an anomaly. Learn2stat101 sweetheart.

Ravens don't seem to be paying attention to the bills RBs. Sure, you know Cook. I don't know that he will see 100 ground yards but could see 100 all purpose. Ray Davis and Ty Johnson, the third down back, are other players. Johnson can catch exceptionally well. Between him and Shakir underneath the Bills don't need deep. Let Palmer and Samuel run down field. Let Coleman do whatever he is capable of doing. Regardless, the Ravens think they only need to be concerned about the Bills passing. The Bills didn't win games passing last year. The Bills on the ground is going to matter. We also have the league MVP. His name ain't Jackson. He's the best in the league and we have him.

Zion makes a lot of sense business wise. He's not guaranteed seasons pay. And I don't see a need if White is good to go; hence, why not an extra kicker.
-
As far as strategy goes for the FO we are a big flummoxed here. Bringing up Phillips fully guarantees his $. Any vested veteran will be locked for yearly salary if brought up week 1 That's why I'm not against Franklin and either Dane Jackson (if we have questions of health at CB) or Phillips (if we are concerned with 2 of 4 being rookies on the interior).

Could we go into the game with two kickers playing? Prater to do kickoffs and pat? I'd be ok w that. Putting defenders in the box against Henry and the Ravens gets the box stuffed and the ravens crush it. You can't fill the box up because the Ravens OL makes big lanes from the chaos and Henry can break the arm tacklea of DL. We are better off running a Big nickel which is why I liked signing Peppers. Bringing someone from the middle or the field to bring Henry down is critical
-
The game last year was a fluke. He broke a long run. That changed the entire game.

Do you use a quart of lotion a day? I feel bad for your ravens plushy. So, to your weak point. ... Going back 2 years the ravens beat by a lot. But the dolphins can beat the Ravens when they're a better team and this has happened. The Ravens implode some. 5 losses is likely the best for them. Burrough is going to come out swinging against defenses. Cleveland has a defense that can disrupt the Ravens flow. The Steelers are weird. The Chiefs own you. The Lions have the talent and it'll be early before they're injured. Either way, God it must suck to always do so well when it doesn't matter than go home so early in January...every. Damn. Year. Womp womp womp. Sorry crowboy

I am not concerned with a loss because the bigger picture. Find the losses: Ravens @jets dolphins Saints Patriots @falcons @panthwrs Chiefs @dolphins Bucs @texans @Steelers Bengals @patriots Browns Eagles Jets Worst case? Ravens, Chiefs, eagles, Bengals, 5th loss (bucs, Texans)... 6 losses is hard to believe. Find the losses for ravens: @bills Browns Lions @chiefs Texans Rams Bears @dolphins @vikings @Browns Jets Bengals Steelers Patriots @packers @steelers Losses: Chiefs, Bengals/browns/Steelers (they'll lose 2 games in division), Texans or patriots...beating them is important but the Ravens always find a slump. They don't ever play the dolphins well, also. I can see 5-6 losses there. The Patriots will get better and play tough as the season goes on.

Kelce is one of the most overrated players in the last 15 years. Yes, he has a ton of yards and done great for catching as a TE. But he hasn't done crap for blocking as a TE. He's also been the #1 or #2 option on his team year in and year our since the few years with Hill. Sure, he will make the HOF because it's the Hall of Cool and douchebags think he's the ultimate Chad. He's a pompous over celebrated douche who is now more famous because he's engaged to a billionaire celebrity.

I always will wonder if we had oneore year of hardass Marrone to clean the place up then when he would ultimately fall short in the next year or two get us the coach that got us over the hump instead of rex Ryan.

That's 17 years older than Tremaine Edmunds.
