People were saying last years eagles lost too many starters. The year before siriani was on his way out. Roseman kept loading up on defenders that weren't paying off and taking big risks. We can keep saying we need to give Beane more time and McDermott isn't the problem. But, at some point these two need to get the job done after 8+ years.

Our upgrades at DL are suspended 6 weeks, for the most part. Bosa is a wildcard. I hope he can last the whole game but also don't have hopes he will last the season so blowing our wad with him in week 1 is a concern.

And the players didn't play particularly impressive either. Their defense missed ints thrown to them. They committed a lot of penalties that were stupid and could have defeated them. The chargers offense would inexplicably get flat for a series and looked as if they didn't have a chance to move the ball. That is what struck me.

Explosive, verb, the ability to spontaneously without prevocation or indication produce a dynamic result. In football terms in my dictionary I say that is plays over 25 yards. I think the Ravens are capable of getting big chunks of the 12-20 yard type but don't see them frequently blasting away at the big runs deep or long ball passes. Sure, Lamar (who's not the best player in the league) can busy a 25+ yard run. It's likely and probably going to happen this year. I don't see that against our defense which is not fast nor necessarily athletic. But our defense is a bend not break type. I do worry that Hamlin/Bishop, rapp, and our CB's could be caught exposed. I also worry that they can be sucked in to rushing Jackson releasing from their man if we play too much zone cover 2.

I've listened to a lot of coverage on this game. In the shop this morning I caught Carruci and dan lebetard on NFL radio. I've always always always appreciated their straight forward non-hot take perspectives. Which, when eating lunch just now I see nfl.com says that the game will be a shoot out, 10 TD's between he QB's. I guess I get the idea. Everyone is expecting fireworks. But, back to Carruci and Lebetard they seemed more balanced. I am, too. I don't see either team scoring the 35+. The Bills offense has the potential, and their defense has the unpotential to give it up. The Ravens offense has the ability to score but not the explosiveness of the Bills. Their defense can shut down and offense. If the winning score is something 31-20something I'd expect that about the highest. If both teams touch the mid 30's I will be amazed. I don't know the Ravens have the horses to play like that - I don't know enough about their depth. I know the Bills could score 40 if they fire off.

Ravens @2 face #7 and win Chargers at 3 face #6 Steelers/bengals and lose Bills host Steelers bengals Ravens host #5 Chiefs One example but it'd be hard to face the Chiefs in my expectations if we get #1 seed. If we get #2 I'd expect it. Ravens would be with us at the top. Chiefs would be #5 if they don't win division. Playing as #5 playing #4 which is likely someone like the AFC is great for #5.

In a 3 week span I saw Charlie Daniels & Alabama, and Marilyn Manson. Manson was light years better but Alabama was worth it, and one of CD's last shows. He, of course, beat the devil that day.

With as small as the DL is these days, with the size of everyone piccard is a great idea. Are teams afraid to copy it? If I am a team I dedicate a scout to the draft to find a fast center or guard who pulls smooth, 6' -6'3" or so (even 5'10) who's 300 lbs but lean w good feet. I scout him. I get my scout to go meet him, play catch with him shooting the breeze covertly watching how he moves. I bring him into camp and work him as an OL his entire rookie practice squad until week 8. Then I start playing him at full back occasionally. The by year 2 I've developed a big fullback who can play special teams blocking.

Slot receivers are going to be trendy for a little bit because defense just gotten so small and light in their ass that they're not going to get lit up like they used to. As such effective slot wide receivers and really eat At the same time getting a big powerful back to knock these guys on defense down be great. I am obsessed with the idea of drafting a fourth or fifth round offensive or defensive lineman with a great raw athletic score and speed that might not be the best blocker. Turn him into a powerful back and an up back to block I would love to spend two weeks as an offensive coordinator even though I would get my ass kicked I would have a lot of fun.

"yeah, the ravens did win but you were missing two starting CB's, a kicker, and your primary WR?" or will you beg your mom for fifteen more minutes of screen time to bloviate that the ravens are bestest ever and lamar is the stud? if they were in the nfc they'd have been battling the defenses of san fran, the rodgers, goff, stafford, hurts... the nfc is no push over, dafodil. if you're asking the question of josh being a turnover machine than you clearly do not pay attention, especially in the playoffs. i guess because you stop watching them in the first week or two every year when your team gets put out.
