  1. Can't build from the draft if you can't resign your own players. I agree he is average to slight better, but he is easily one of our top 4 starters on defense possibly top 2. Given that how can you rate his overall production without saying he could be better. I am excited to see what he can do with a solid LB coach. I think he can still be taught to play smarter. I also think he would be better with more skilled players around him. According to everything we have heard about the new CBA the Bills should have a few days of exclusive rights to sign him. If they don't they low balled him, or he didn't really want to be here. I'm not sure I see him playing for less thouh, it's human nature. As long as it's not too excessive I would not be happy if we didn't resign him.
  2. By not announcing his intentions I think the Bills benefit fro extra ticket sales by holding the team hostage. He wants to keep it until he dies. If he said Kelly's group would get it afterwards I think some people would stop buying tickets for this pitiful team until then.
  3. Any chance the Bills will have interest in The Ohio State University's Pryor in the NFL supplemental draft? What round do you guys expect him to go in ? Would drafting Pryor do anything to Fitz's positive attitude he has. "based on the Bills confidence in him"?
  4. I said it in another post that disappeared if this team was losing money Ralph would fix that in way less than three years. It would be fixed in about 3 weeks.
  5. It wouldn't take Ralph 3 years if the problem was they/he was losing money, they would turn that around in weeks.
  6. I keep hearing the Bills are rushing 4 up to 50% of the time. I cancelled my directv this year so I have not seen them play. Where does he play when they rush 4? Has he been playing a DE in those situations? I agree that if he is it doesn't seem to have helped the run D, but just wondering? I keep hear It's not ?
  7. They have a complex way to determine "team rankings". "Instead of limiting our analysis to players who have yet to emerge in the NFL, these rankings consider all players who will be 25 or younger as of September 1, 2010 -- regardless of where they were drafted or how many games they've started. After compiling a list of eligible players for each team, we compared the groups on a variety of factors. We weighed issues like upside versus established production, quantity versus quality, and current staff versus historical ability to develop rookies when it comes to evaluating the talent available to each NFL franchise. In the end, we put together these rankings with help from the rest of the crew at Football Outsiders. The capsules represent a synopsis of thoughts as to why the team is ranked where they are and who the important young players are for the franchise. However, we should point out that talent under the age of 25 does not equal talent overall. In the NFL, a couple bounces of the ball can turn an average team into a wild-card contender -- but it takes real time to build a team that can challenge for a Super Bowl title. Some of the teams near the top of our list are still a couple of years away from that point, and their rank is more about promise for the future than promise for this upcoming campaign." Initially I would have expected us to be ranked higher as well, at least initially. Then I realized the "young players" probably stand out more in Buffalo because we all expect them to be key in turning this franchise around. The way things are going they certainly need to be large part of the equation, luck comes in at a strong #2, after that I couldn't even speculate what the formula would be. To make things worse this guy really doesn't have much good to sat about the young Bills. So unless you were expecting to see young players, that have not shown much while backing up average starters, suddenly predicted to have pro bowl futures this probably makes sense. I do think that I need more time to digest this before agreeing or disagreeing. But in the end my opinion doesn't mean S#!^. But I did figured I would post the ranking for anyone interested. 22. Buffalo Bills The Bills have a lot of young players on offense; unfortunately, none of them appear to be any good. Okay, C.J. Spiller should be the exception, but we don't know anything about what he'll do in the NFL. He has potential, but so did Marshawn Lynch, who failed to develop whatsoever. Buffalo has nearly a dozen qualifying players at wide receiver and tight end, but the best of the group might be 2008 second-rounder James Hardy, who's caught 10 passes in two seasons and showed up to OTAs overweight. Promising guard Eric Wood broke his leg last year and may never be 100 percent again. There is hope on the defense, though, where safety Jairus Byrd tied for the league lead in interceptions as a rookie and cornerback Leodis McKelvin appears to be the next one up in the assembly line of great Bills corners. Unfortunately, those corners all seem to leave. Linebacker Paul Posluszny is a supreme talent, but he struggles to stay healthy, and health is a skill.
  8. To win the division they just need to win more games than the other 3 teams ...just saying.
  9. True but even when the salary cap was in place there were not a whole lot of teams following "The cash to cap policy". Having additional cash to pay out bonus money would not be a bad thing.
  10. It was just a comment to Peter Kings article about playing an annual game in London. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writ.../25/mmqb/1.html " Would Jacksonville trade one of its non-sellouts for a crowd of 75,000 there each year? Or would Buffalo? Stay tuned" He needs to do his homework.
  11. Keep reading from sports writters that do not do their homework that the Bills don't sellout. We know this is not true, but we do have an issue with ticket revenue. I do not know how much prices would need to go up to get us into the 3rd tier ,$20 seat per game (avg.)/ more? If forced to raise prices say 25% for a new owner that would need to pay for financing would you still buy tickets? No one could guarantee a winner but would you pay more for one? How much more would you be willing to pay to keep the team? How much more would you be willing to pay fo a winner?
  12. He probably wasn't as good as we all remember after 3 years because the team was stacked, but how many QB's drafted in the last 5-10 years are as good as Kelly was? Just a handfull if that, the guy had a swagger and confidence that made everyone billeave he could do it. With this line and this schedule Trent will be back with an 8-8 record, a few good games and decent stats. Given that... Juron may be gone, and with Ralph that is even a "may". But in any case there is a good chance that next year at this time we are saying the same exact things about Trent with the exact same hope and optimism. But here's hoping he has a great year!
  13. If I were Jaron and I pushed this, I would have gone for 2 years or a 2nd year option the Bills could chose to pick up (or not). This is a cheap price and if no one else was intrested, the Bills held all of the cards.
  14. Here is a supposed up to date ranking of all of the NFL Stadiums... and the Ralph ranks 30th... http://www.thesportsroadtrip.com/nflfavorites.html Funny thing is the guys that did the rankings are from Buffalo... " Imagine traveling to every big league city in the United States and Canada and attending a home game of every team. All 30 Major League baseball parks. Every National Football League Stadium. All the big arenas that house NBA and NHL teams. Think about tailgating at the venues, checking out the local sports museums and shrines, hanging out at cool sports pubs and eateries, and sightseeing all around town." "For two best friends from Buffalo, New York, this has been the sports lovers' adventure of a lifetime. We started hitting the road in 1998,..." about the Ralph... #30 RALPH WILSON STADIUM ORCHARD PARK, NEW YORK BUFFALO BILLS One of the NFL's absolute best tailgate scenes here in Buffalo, but not enough was done to upgrade this place when "The Ralph" was renovated after the '98 season. The stadium remains extremely functional even after 30+ years, and Bills fans are very loud and passionate. Arc- 5, Food-4, Scbd-2.5, Ush-6, Fans-6, Loc-6, Bann-7, Ent-3, Conc-4, Bonus-5 Total: 48.5 Only teams we beat were the Giants and San Fran, somehow the Jets finished ahead of us playing in "GIANTS STADIUM".
  15. It will be a tough sell, but if the team is going to remain here long term, something will have to be done. However not without commitment from the team to stay in the new stadium for years. Perhaps Obama will build it as an opportunity for his job stimulus plan, thats how we got War Memorial and I believe the original Aud.
  16. Ah.. Jim Kelly went to Miami, Marino went to Pittsburgh. Not that it matters, neither won a Superbowl. One is a god (small g) and the other does weight loss and car commercials.
  17. I think Sarnia has us beat, makes us number 3.
  18. I think Sarnia has us built, makes us number.
  19. Bingo! it was all downhill after that.
  20. Hell, we should draft a QB with every single one of our picks! That way we have a chance of getting one that is worth a damn. Actually, I think we should stick with Edwards and get him a veteran backup to help him progress. It made perfect sense to me that his stats were going to get worse as the season went on... He had JP teaching him how to read defense's... only problem is he learned what JP tought him. BTW JP learned from RJ out in Cali.....BOOM!
  21. What makes seats luxury boxes? Not to sound stupid, but just what is the legal NFL description? Why can't Ralph et all start referring to all of the club seats as luxury club level seats raise the price by a few bucks and keep all of this profit away from the other owners? Hell we can put a few of those red ropes and gold poles you see at banks around the entrances and exits, have a few girls sell drinks and food to you right in your seat and bring your check at the end of the night. Who says we have to match whatever Jerry does?
  22. I'd hate to lose the team, not what I was saying. I think holding this team over our heads (Will they be sold and moved?) adds to the all of the frustration.
  23. Say what you want. The players are paid well and should perform on their own. BUT.... These players have no heart because the coaches don't try to get the extra effort from them. They have it too easy. I don't care what they get paid, it is he coaches job to get the most out of the players, and if that includes rah, rah, bullsh$%... SO BE IT. It is the coaching staff's job. The frustration is there. Ralph has been holding this team over our heads for this entire 20 year contract. It is normal for the fans at some point to say enough is enough. Sure Ralph kept the team in Buffalo when he could have moved it, but he made allot of money doing so at the expense of the local taxpayers and ticket holders. This team consistently makes RALPH money. The fact that he want to hold it over our heads and keep the team until he dies, no matter the outcome, is asinine and selfish. What could he possibly say that would mean " I could give a rats ass about the city of Buffalo and my fans " more? What does it matter to him if the team is sold to someone locally when he thinks the business model won't work? It wouldn't be his team or his losses. He is an arrogant, cheap, bitter old man. No one wants to say it because they are afraid of the outcome. We can't boycott the team because it plays right into the hands of the people that would want to move it. They would say "See the city is too small to support the team". This is what happened with the Braves. Some people won't care, I would and believe most people on this board would. ( I hate those people by the way.) Statistically the real FANS will only take so much before they start to see the light. If he doesn't care ... how long can we?
  24. Can't someone knock that Chimp off the board? We got enough problems trying to verbally destroy this team on our own so it matches their level of play.
  25. Might be a knee jerk reaction but... I'd FIRE the WHOLE coaching staff, JARON SUCKS and will never be a winning coach, this was one of the most embarrassing games I have ever watched. I really hope they pulled a Drury and never signed the so-called extension back from our 5-1 days. We will see by the end of the year that SF was the better team, because they will finish with more than our 5 wins.
