Dude.
Gunner.
You're trying to have a logical, unbiased discussion about Tyrod with a guy named "t-bomb" who has Tyrod as his avatar.
That's like trying to have a logical, unbiased discussion about "cheating in professional sports" with Brady and belichick.
Except Bradford isn't perfect if you want your got to sit for a year, since there's a good chance his knee won't make it 4 games.
I mean unless you plan on throwing Peterman out there if that happens while still sitting the rookie??
If that's the case, why not let Nate roll with it from day one and save yourself the $$
Bc Nate can’t take us to the playoffs and TT can.

It doesn't, at all, but 40 million is 40 million.
With the Jets cap space, can't you guys see the Jets offering this ridiculous contract?
The jets have a top pick. Trade to the bills and grab all the skill positions around KK with the booty
-
Even if we draft one of the top guys, we should keep TT and start him for another playoff run. When we are out of contention the new era fully begins. Unless of course, the rookie beats TT outright, which would be ideal, but is unlikely.

Lamar Jackson runs a 4.29 40yd dash...

I think our best chance is if the Browns want to sign a vet QB (Cousins, Foles, a Minn QB) and draft S. Barkley #1 overall. That gives them their offense. Then they prob would trade back from #4 for as much draft capital this year as they can get to fill the holes. So maybe they would trade #4 for our two firsts this year and some other picks / Glenn.
At #4, we will get at least Mayfield, and could get one of the top two guys if something odd happens w the Giants or Colts picks.

I know this was 5 pages ago - but this statement couldn't be anymore wrong.
A guy could throw 100% of his passes two feet in front of him and as long as the RB doesn't drop it; he'd have 100% completion percentage. Which, honestly, isn't far off from what Taylor does.
Completion percentage has ZERO barring on accuracy.
well given this statement is a fact, it cant be wrong. it may be misguided, but it isnt a wrong statement.
-
Well he is the all time leading Bills passer for completion percentage, so that says something about accuracy (and about previous Bills QBs). Now throws not attempted is another theoretical stat altogether.
Generally, I wish everyone would stop being so polorized regarding Taylor. He is a slightly above average starter, and has had a good cap number the past couple years. He isn’t a top 10 QB in the league. It’s pretty straight forward. People treat it like the Devine mystery or something where you have crusaders and atheists both willing to die for their beliefs.

The cap hit is due to his extension he signed being guaranteed for injury.

why not go for Carlos Hyde as the #2 back instead. think that would be a strong 1, 2 punch and actually feasible

Too soon for that with the 2018 league year not started yet.
Got it, just expected to

Didnt Sammy just get the franchise tag??

the more and more i think about it, they should give dennison another year. complete turnover in the WR corps, a QB not fit for the system, etc. I think some of the playcalling was suspect indeed, but its tough with these circumstances for he to be a one and done. I would say though, he would be on the hot seat in year two and if there isnt improvement he should know he will be sent packing.

If the Browns draft Darnold at #1 and Rosen is somehow still there at #4 (as per the CBS mock), I would be pissed if the Bills didn’t move up to get him.
agree, seems us moving to 4 for the browns to reload on picks is the move

IDIOT!!! why go for luck when we can package our picks and get Tom Brady from 2010??? hes even younger than Tom Brady today!!!! buh bye Patriots domination!

Be serious, he came in out a 4th and 3 and kept the drive alive, also made a very nice play after.
The intentional grounding was a garbage call and very subjective. And we all know the INT wasn't legit either and even if was it was another deflection.
I think folks are really underestimating just how good NP is given what he's shown this year under very extreme circumstances. I have no doubt he's going to have a great offseason and certainly bulk up a bit to work on the perceived weak arm strength issue.
not to pile on here, but just curious what leads you to conclude he is good? What has he shown, specifically, this year that would lead you to the conclusion he should start over a vet (cousins or smith) or one of the top rated rookies?
-
I'm NOT in the trade the farm for a rookie QB camp. That said, with the Browns having 1 and 4, I think you might be able to trade them these two picks and next years 1st to go to #1 overall. The Browns know they will get a QB at 4, and 3 firsts is hard to pass up.
from the Bills perspective, the extra 1st this year is a gift given we still drafted White, and w 2 2nds and a 3rd we can still acquire pieces on defense and the OL.
-
i mean, this is a pretty strong rookie class. White 100% deserves consideration, and probably would receive some 1st place ROY votes if he were in, but its hard to argue against any of the other candidates as well. You can argue white and Lattimore are neck and neck, but its hard to argue Lattimore doesnt deserve to be included at all. Is the number fixed at 5 finalists or something?
For the Bills, im sure they couldnt be happier. T White looks like a astud, and Dawkins looks like an absolute steal in his own right.

Anyone here have a view on who is better, Tyrod Taylor or Nathan Peterman?

Notice in that article that there are a lot of teams that you can make a good case for also looking to move up and get a QB.
Remember that the teams that hold the highest picks are not in the business of doing the Buffalo Bills favors. They will sell to the highest bidder. In the article, they make the reasonable suggestion that there might be ten teams drafting ahead of us who could use a QB as much or more than we do. The "money" that you spend to move up is almost always draft picks. Let's use the NFL draft value chart so see how much MORE some other bidders have to spend by using their first round draft pick compared to our {1st #24}. What I am getting at is what EXTRA we would have to spend to just meet their opening bid- not the total cost. Regardless of the original plan, our success this year does not put us in a good place for moving up.
Other bidder {1st # X} difference in points What extra change we would
compared to {1st #22} have to spend just to match
Jets.................. #6 820 {1st ~ #21}
Fish...................#11 472 {2nd #11}
Skins.................#13 370 {2nd #21}
Ravens #16 220 {3rd #10}
Do you really want to weaken the Bills compared to those other teams by this much extra? Realize that our later round picks makes this type of picture increasingly bad, as their value falls faster.
i would give up a 1st and a 2nd to move up this year to match the fish, skins, and ravens. i wouldnt give up two firsts this year to match the Jets however. Honestly, im not sold on any of these guys including Rosen and Darnold. When everyone thinks about trading up for the franchise guy, they imagine trading up for Luck or Peyton Manning. I think locks like that are very rare and i dont think any of these guys are locks. Looking at QBs taken in the top 10 since 2000, its very hit or miss. I think you have to take one if you are within striking distance, but you cant bet the farm on it IMO:
QBs taking in the top 10 since 2000
Mike Vick
David Carr
Joey Harrington
Carson Palmer
Byron Leftwich
Eli Manning
Philip Rivers
Alex Smith
Vince Young
Matt Leinart
JaMarcus Russell
Matt Ryan
Matt Stafford
Mark Sanchez
Sam Bradford
Cam Newton
Jake Locker
Blaine Gabbert
Andrew Luck
RGIII
Ryan Tannehill <- i was shocked to see he was taken 8th overall
Blake Bortles
Jameis Winston
Marcus Mariota
Jared Goff
Carson Wentz
Mitchell Trubisky
Patrick Mahomes

yes. They may not seek Buffalo out, but they also may not cross them off the list without considering like they would the browns, for example.

How are we going to get a lead forcing them to pass if Tyrod has another 57 or 112 yard passing game?
They better be scheming up tons of new plays that rely on Tyrod's mobility, or we're dead ducks.
if tyrod plays very poorly, its likely we lose. that is the same for the 31 other teams. If you are going into this expecting 57 yards passing, you probably shouldnt bother watching Sunday.
-
we need to get the lead early forcing them to pass more than they want. On D, crowd the line and hope White and Gains can hold their own. Hyde and poyer will need to make tackles early.
Our only advantage it seems is Jax has a poor run defense by the numbers, hence why they traded for Marcell. I think if we get a lead and then start gashing them on the ground with it, they will panic and start trying to throw too much.

Would you trade T White and a first next year for Mahomes at this point? If not, flies in the faced of the trade up into the top 10 and draft the 3rd available QB crowd (assuming CLE and NYG go QB at 1 and 2)...

I think we need one on the effect/affect (we can argue that too!) Eric Wood's snaps have on Tyrod's game.
Yes. We havent fully explored Tyrod's performance in white vs blue vs color rush jerseys yet either. SO MUCH TO TALK ABOUT!!!

id take Foles for a 2nd in a heartbeat.
If im the Browns, i would make that play too. Get him, draft Barkley 1st. Trade back from #4 and maybe take Lamar Jackson later in the 1st as a developmental guy with loads of extra picks.
