We will loose to the saints by how many points???
VanCity replied to Clippers of Nfl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bills are up 24-13 in the 4th and the lights go out. Ray Lewis throttles Goodell , instantly becoming the new commish. Bills hold on for a 27-20 win and Ray has the Superdome blown up following the game. LSU hosts all future Saints games. -
Official 2nd Half Thread - Bills and Fins

Just a little happy right now -
My open letter to you all
VanCity replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As a fellow Canuck, albeit one transplanted to the PNW, I endorse this post fully. I have fantastic memories of my father and I sharing our love of the Bills, going to the Ralph, and wearing Bills paraphanelia (including Zubaz) to school and getting grief from dumbasses with Raiders and Skins Starter jackets. Southwestern Ontario is a great place to grow up, but Sundays with our Bills make all the difference to this very day. Thank you fellow Bills fans! You make this world a better place. -
Official Game Day Thread: Ravens at Bills 9-29-2013

Ugghhhh...so not the start we needed to the 2nd half -
On the ladies? What do you really think he is holding out on? What a ridiculously asinine thread.

Byrd signed tender [update: may still want to be traded]
VanCity replied to BRAWNDO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
None of us know what happened behind the scenes, so despite the reliability of Rapaport (who broke the news), we have no clue as to the validity of these reports. We all should hope that he is happy bc Searcy and Duke aren't even touching Jairus' productivity and reliability. Happy with A Williams progress, but we need skill in the backfield as much as any team in the NFL with only Gilmore as a proven player aside from Byrd. -
I wish Kaufman had about 20 more pounds on him. With his hands and height, he'd be a nice TE target in the red zone. But, it's Chandler for sure and then Gragg falls under the maybe category with Smith just being a 6th OL.

I keep readingposts on here on how he's a tough cut, but he's been thoroughly outperformed by Easley, Hogan, Sampson and Kaufman and none of them has the history or rep that he does. I wanted him to be a steal, but am thinking he was available for more reasons than just a piss poor attitude

The nail was smashed on the head right there.

The envy within me grows every time I hear of Bills Backers bars. My house is the closest thing there will ever be to one in my city. My Wings may not rival Buffalo Brothers, but my beer kicks some major butt. Pacific Northwest microbrews are a nice trump card...

Stevie Johnson helped off the field
VanCity replied to artmalibu's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly J-Gun. Have to take the positives here and they could be extremely positive. Stevie is seasoned, the rest of the Wrs are about as green as it gets. let em get out there and learn. Do I wish Stevie could stay healthy throughout the year? Of course i do, but when your cards are dealt you play them the best way possible and I've seen way worse hands. -

Guard position battle not going so hot
VanCity replied to MClem06's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With all respect Senator, so would Chance Warmack, but I'll take Gilmore and Manuel in this case. DeCastro wouldn't have filled a need in the 2012 draft in the way that Gilmore did. letting Andy go bites, but Guards can be coached up. CB's with loose hips, toughness, speed and cover skills and QB's with mobility, leadership, huge arms and athleticism don't fall into your lap too often. -
Washington signs ex-Bills LB Nick Barnett
VanCity replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Best of luck Mr Barnett. He was a catalyst behind the Bills Mafia movement within the squad a few years back. Too bad that didn't pan out so well. Either way, an obvious good guy and we should all wish him the best. -
A Peter Pan outfit. That way i don't need to waste time posting fake links...the outfit can be seen in it's full and live glory.
-
Actually, he was. The Hawks staff were all talking about his athleticism, maturity and poise in OTA's last year. That's the reason that he was given such a big opportunity in Training Camp right off the bat. Each of the three (TJ, Flynn and he split the starts in pre-season)
-
He was on the practice squad? Thought he was a back-up. Anyways, multi-positional guy with proven history providing a challenge to the Bills current motley crew at LGisn't a bad signing, but the threads started in the dog days after the draft tend to get a little long. Whatever, I'm happy to see the guy brought in. LG is, IMHO, the most suspect position on the team.

2013 NFLPA Rookie Premiere (Photos)
VanCity replied to BillsWatch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like EJ's cleats. That is all. -
A friend of mine is a big Seahawks fan, but has a soft spot for the Bills. He and I were chatting the other day and he was asking about the defense and who looks good on the Bills for 2013. For some reason, I said Kiko, Jairus and Carrington. I like Carrington and definitely see him as an asset that has been improperly utilized by the past two DC's. Great to see him getting some props.

Marrone's potential chameleon offense
VanCity replied to In-A-Gadda-Levitre's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great read. Marrone's time with New Orleans and what he put in place there combined with the players that the Bills picked up in the draft on offense have me excited for the possibilities. Always have to temper expectations though and the writer did a fair job of that. I have to agree with the thought that every team in the league will have put a focus on read-option defense, to varying degrees dependent on the division. However, I see the AFC East being the division putting the least focus on it with Tannehill, Brady and Geno/Sanchez being projected starters at QB and the Bills perhaps putting Kolb out there opening day. If Manuel hits the books and the coaches feel that he's ready to get out there right away, the Bills read-option could be a big weapon in a division without another QB able to do what he does. I was getting that feeling too. Read what the defense is giving you and if the pass doesn't suit it, then take the option of running! -
Titus Young released 2x, arrested 4x
VanCity replied to Captain Hindsight's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am in complete disbelief of people that completely waste their God-given abilities. And then there are people like Titus Young. This guy was given fantastic physical abilities, a brain the size of a peanut and an ego too big to realize either. What a moron. Lock him up and let this be the last that the public ever hears of this complete waste of talent. -
I had done my best to forget that guy. Then you and the Golden State Warriors reminded me twice in 24 hours

9 breakout candidates (according to one NFL writer)
VanCity replied to BillsWatch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dareus has showed flashes over the last two years, but nothing to say that he was 100% worth the 3rd overall pick. He is a big, strong, athletic guy with a good head on his shoulders and, seemingly, a desire to be better. While that isn't necessarily a recipe for success, it sure is some required ingredients. Having a more ingenuitive DC should help a guy like Dareus to play up to his potential by challenging him and putting more onus on him to anchor the line like he should. If I was an NFL beat writer, I'd say the absolute same. Dareus should be a break out player. -
Marrone fosters player accountability.
VanCity replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, he wants the team to be great. This means that the other players will bench Mario if he plays poorly. I kid, I kid. But, seriously, this is the absolute truth in every team sport. A coach can set the plays, mentally and physically prepare you for the game and give their players the knowledge to do what it takes to succeed. But, the guy playing beside you can do a lot more to motivate you to perform by getting in your face and letting you know when you mess up, encouraging you when you are playing the game the right way and giving you feedback right away on the field/court. Not all players respond the same way to coaching or to on-field leadership, but the majority of players take a lot more accountability when the guys that they are going to battle with are letting them know that they are or are not doing their job the best they can. (Jared Gaither aside....)
