No. Just no. Much like a "Jump to Conclusions" mat, this is a terrible idea.

Thank you for finding a positive, of which there were a few last night. The O-line, D-line, Duke Williams, Woods and Tuel showing a stronger grasp of the O were chief amongst though. Because he is the starting QB and he didn't go 6-7, EJ will get the majority of the attention, but that's pretty standard.

That is a very good question. Mario is my best guess in 2024, but he's not a lock. HOF players are few and far between. To have had 4 on a team for as many years as the Bills had speaks volumes to the quality of personnel we saw in the FO during that era. He wasn't a player, but Polian will be the next Bill in I would expect. I would be elated. I don't expect it, but Kent deserved it as a player and, foremost, as a person.

Training Camp tweets and media reports, Week 2
VanCity replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Reed, I suspect, will not attend this event. Either that or he will sit front row with his middle fingers up and mean mug JBJ the whole show. I prefer the latter. -
This. My thoughts exactly. I have never once thought of taking a baseball bat to Jaws. Skip and Stephen A bring that out of me within seconds of seeing them. Arrogant morons.

Prediction time - 2014 NFL season
VanCity replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Which AFC team will take a significant step backward? (i.e. Houston from 12-4 in 2012 to 2-14 in 2013) Cincy Which NFC team will take a significant step backward? (i.e. Atlanta from 13-3 in 2012 to 4-12 in 2013) Carolina Which AFC team will take a significant step forward? (i.e. KC from 12-4 in 2012 to 11-5 in 2013) Buffalo. Who else? Which NFC team will take a significant step forward? (i.e. Carolina from 7-9 in 2012 to 12-4 in 2013) tough question. I expect Arizona to leapfrog SF for a playoff spot, but they had a solid record in 2013 Offensive POY- Aaron Rodgers Defensive POY- JJ Watt Offensive ROY-Sammy Defensive ROY- Clowney Division Winners: AFC East-Bills AFC North- Steelers AFC South- Indy AFC West- Denver NFC East- Eagles NFC North- GBay NFC South- N'awlins NFC West-Seahawks Superbowl matchup Eagles vs Denver Superbowl winner Denver -
I was going to use this very same statement. Gus Bradley is as defensive-focused as any HC in the league. He led one of the best defenses in the league in Seattle and has made major headway with the D in Jax. If he doesn't want Babin, then there's a very good chance Babin is no longer a very useful player in the NFL.

As someone who has watched every down of Hawks football for the past 12 seasons, this is a very good assessment of Marshawn. He has been a driving force behind the Hawks offense, got the hard yards when they needed them and hit the opposing D hard every time he's in the game. As much as we all love Freddie, Marshawn would have been awesome for the Bills, especially when our line was strong a few years back. I'm not 100% certain on this, as I don't personally know the man, but I feel like he may have some anxiety issues. He hates getting in front of the mic and the Super Bowl media drama came as no surprise to Hawks fans. He avoids all of the team parties and is rarely seen in public in Seattle, unlike all the other high profile Seahawks.

Jimmy is a WR. Just ask him

Kinda surprised that this topic received such low response. I would have thought that with the opinionated bunch we have here, we'd see at least a few pages or some debate more than this. Oh well, I tried.

QB- tough. Still Brady, but the future is Luck. FB- This position exists? RB- AP WR- Calvin Johnson TE- Gronk OL- Joe Staley DE- JJ Watt DT-Gerald McCoy OLB- Clay Matthews ILB- Patrick Willis CB- Sherman S- Earl Thomas KR- Cordarelle Patterson K- Haushka P- Shane Lechler

I thought he had been expected to play the slot all along. Either way, I haven't been this excited about a Bills squad on offense for some time. If the Bills offense makes strides similar to what the defense did last year.....sky's the limit. The top 4 WRs (I'll put Goodwin in that group) bolstered by decent depth and steady, if unspectacular, and good blocking TEs really sets up well.

What Are They Doing with Nickell Robey?!!
VanCity replied to Last Guy on the Bench's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Last Guy. Where are you in South Africa? I'm headed there at the end of June and have a free day in Joburg. Any tips on things to do? -
Colts looked into "The Mountain"
VanCity replied to voodoo poonani's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's funny. When I saw this guy (the third different actor to play the role BTW) all i could think is "why is he not on a squad in the NFL?". That is one ginormous human being. -
I'M Canadian and, sadly, never played to a sufficient level to earn a Div I US scholarship. My favorite Canadian University for sports growing up was SFU in Vancouver, where Terry Fox attended. I played basketball there for 4 years in the late 90's.

I love seeing the pick-ups of the hometown boys (Corey and Mike) and the Southern boy who grew up a Bills fan (Sammy) this offseason. As someone who played for the College team that I grew up being a fan of, I can tell you that having a greater emotional investment in the outcome of each game will inspire you to work harder to ensure your connection to the teams success.

I am amazed that no one pointed out that the OP stated, over the course of two back-to-back paragraphs, that he hoped the Bills would trade or release CJ and also that they would re-sign him to use him appropriately. That is odd. That being said, keep the 4. Let Bryce learn from Freddie how to be a pro so that he can pass the torch at the end of the year and let Dixon run the FB/ST role that he is best suited for. Less wear and tear on Freddie and CJ in short yardage situations will bode well for the running game. I am a definite fan of Fred Jackson, but am also very aware of the fact that the end of the road is near.

I don't think "celebrate" is the right word. However, your opinion is just as valuable as anyone else on the board. Whether it is agreed with or not is why we have a board. if everyone felt the same about such important topics, we would have some really boring discussion on TSW. I have gay, and married, uncles as does my wife. I have a number of gay friends. I could care less what their preferences are. They are great people who I am proud to call my family and friends. In my opinion, more people should open their eyes and see that we are all just people trying to get through life the best way we can and that gay people and straight people that do absolutely nothing to negatively impact your life or anyone else's life should be left to carry forth. Life with positivity is a lot better than dwelling on perceived negatives. Don't sweat the small stuff.

I am drinking the Whaley Kool aid and it is gooood!
VanCity replied to Kellyto83TD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can't get enough of this kool aid! Though it was a gamble of a draft in terms of what assets in players and picks were given up and the health (physical in the case of two and mental in the case of one) of the three OL picks, if the picks pan out this will have been the draft that put the Bills into annual contention. As a Bills fan, who could rightfully complain about that? And now, on to you EJ. You are the lynchpin. -
The guy is an obvious talent, but cases like Rae Carruth and Aaron Hernandez have put the league on notice. red flags cannot be ignored and the ramifications of ignoring them can be immense. If he truly had his head on straight he would have deleted his twitter account and gone into a training and rehab program. Neither of those things happened.Ergo, red flags still abound.

I understand your beliefs, but how about this for a retort; the world is over-polluted and over-populated. If less people have kids, sustainability is improved. Ergo, homosexuality may actually be good for the future of the human race. Just a thought. But, your point is well taken. No one can change your beliefs. But, your screen name is appropriate. Your school of thought is not what would be considered new school.

I was happy to see the Rams draft Sam. The guy was a conference defensive player of the year. His tape shows his true ability and, despite a poor combine ( which a number of players that were drafted in the first three rounds had as well), is a player that will add depth to St Louis' d-line and will learn from the excellent Chris Long ( insert your joke here). I cannot, nor can anyone on this board, definitively say that his coming out was a publicity stunt. I can, however, say that it was a big step in promoting tolerance and acceptance in major sports culture, a place where homosexuality has largely been pushed under the rug. We have to recognize that equal rights do not have boundaries. Just one man's opinion...

I have been checking through most of the major draft reviews this am and the reviews have generally been pretty spot on. It was a gamblers draft. Three days of picks and trades that each included a sizeable element of risk. We all hope that they were each well calculated, but nobody comes with any guarantees. I think that the national media has actually, for once, actually examined the Bills roster when picking their draft grades.

Prediction: Michael Sam to the Bills in round 7
VanCity replied to ThurmasThoman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, I don't decide what's funny, but if you really found connecting Michael Sam to some made-up connection between Whaley and Nix's sexuality funny, than I question your sense of humor. I like comedy. I have two good friends who are on the international comedy circuit who use vulgarity and base-level humor in their acts and I am the first guy laughing, but making up some BS about the Bills former GM and their current GM, that's really not funny. -
Prediction: Michael Sam to the Bills in round 7
VanCity replied to ThurmasThoman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not funny. I'm absolutely fine with Sam being picked in the seventh, but it has absolutely nothing to do with his sexuality and everything to do with his ability to provide depth at DE. Those who find it funny to continue to post in such an obviously immature (and truthfully, offensive) manner should be removed from the board. Grow up.
