  1. well I thought it was an adequate reply to a lead in question. Sure the UAW was far from perfect. But there should be a balance between labor and management and it is rarely fair. In CT we are at will employees, which means we basically have zero rights whatsoever. I excelled at a job for 23 years, and got fired for no reason. I sure wish I had union standing behind me. Believe me I have heard all sorts of stories about some union slackers. But no system is perfect and there should be that balance. As far as Mexico- I put that on CEO's greed and inadequacy, and NAFTA. Roger Smith has been named one of the worst CEO's in history. In part because his awful relations with unions. Despite attempting to cut costs moving to Mexico, GM has lost their profits, and is most definitely a major contributor to the slow death of Detroit. Is this a case of biting your nose off to spite your face? have a lovely stroll through Detroit
  2. send all our manufacturing jobs to Mexico. That will teach those unions And while we are discussing urban decay- Charlotte Street in 1980's Bronx is as post apocalyptic as it gets. It is hard to imagine Somalia or Afghanistan or Dresden/Tokyo after the firebombings looking worse
  3. monument to outsourcing, corporate greed and inefficiency, piss poor labor relations, and general ineptitude from CEO's. I do agree Detroit would make a great location to shoot a post apocalyptic film.
  4. Detroit must of been a beautiful city in it's day. You said it well- it is sad, tragic, and beautiful. I love architecture and checking out old buildings. On city data forums there is a most ghetto visually photo discussion. Detroit has plenty more photos there
  5. The Pats scored on two very solid TE's in last years draft. How many years does it take for the Bills to get two TE's? My guess is McKeller and Riemersma- so 20 years or so
  6. I experimented with over a half dozen converters and found this this the best overall. Some of the others were slow, complicated, or not good for large batches of FLAC
  7. who is worse? And Jake Locker sucks. Bledsoe 2.0
  8. http://www.bing.com/videos/watch/video/some-kind-of-love-the-velvet-underground/002eda3a3207ee12a4fb002eda3a3207ee12a4fb-720013690248?q=velvet+undertground+some+kind+of+love&FORM=VIRE3 I also like the Benedictine Monks albums. It makes for a religious experience
  9. agreed. Fooling around to Sweet Thing is about as good as it gets
  10. Did you read the article? Average person surveyed was worth over $3.5 million. And a high percentage said they did not feel rich. That reminds me when Lattrell Sprewell complained about a $15 million contract saying "I need to feed my kids". I don't give a !@#$ about money. It does not impress me. I am much more impressed by a mans character. I got !@#$ed over at my job- and turned down $22,000 severance offer. I cannot be bought off. With what little money I make- I still donated over $1000 to charity last year. Greedy people suck. Don't tell me you are a fan of Madoff, Kenneth Lay, Gary Winnick, Dennis Kozlowski, etc? I could go on and on with scumbag corporate execs. And I could lecture for weeks about how evil companies such as Monsanto, Capital One, and Nestle are. What is not to understand? I reiterate- !@#$ greedy people, !@#$ selfish people, !@#$ Corporations
  11. No thank you to Bledsoe 2.0
  12. !@#$ greedy people, !@#$ selfish people, and !@#$ corporate America
  13. funny- I was going to guess the Bills would draft Miller and Rudolph too! Rudolph would be a steal in the second round. Not only would he be the receiving threat we have needed since McKeller- he is a great blocker that would help our run game and oline as well
  14. lol Fast Times - Kashmir scene reference
  15. I love the Replacements. Best album by them- I am torn between Let It Be and Tim
  16. I have been so very impressed by how the Japanese citizens have been dealing with this tragedy. They are strong, civil, polite, and acting as well as possible for the situation. Polar opposite of looting and lawlessness that prevailed after Katrina. Japan does not need marshall law or FEMA
  17. Norah Jones is great too.
  18. Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield, Ray Charles. Etta James. Jazz is always good for closing the deal. I also like doing the dirty to Chill Out and Down Tempo
  19. um, this is the Bills you are talking about. They could !@#$ up a two car parade
  20. Marcell Dareous, Nick Fairley, Muhommad Wilkerson, Corey Liuget, Stephen Paea, Phil Taylor, and Marvin Austin. This is one of the deepest DL drafts I have ever seen. If Buddy is truthful and truly believes Troup would rank #1 or 2 in this class- that is indeed high praise
  21. America has less then then 5% of the worlds population, yet purchases 1 in 4 items purchased in the world. The truth hurts
  22. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVZo1Jjfshw
  23. Von Miller is going to be a great player in the NFL for some team, even if is not the Bills. doh!
  24. God bless him. Good article and kudos to the subject for giving up a $600,000 house to live off the grid. America is the most materialistic society in the world. The article was a refreshing read. Now most of you can go back and catch up on the latest Charlie Sheen or Lindsay Lohan incident
  25. I have read the free market theory, but what about AIG, Bank of America, Chrysler, JP Morgan, Citigroup, etc? So much for the free market. And guess what- I don't go to games unless the ticket is free. And guess what else what? I don't watch TV anymore. Give me a book, music, or a documentary on Netflix streaming. PS- Bush sucked as president. And him, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfolitz should be brought to court on war crimes. But that is another thread. You brought up Bush, not me
