  1. "The Bills are 2-0 and now face their biggest test to gauge whether they're for real: New England." jw
  2. easy answer, though i speak only for myself. as Bills fans too well know, this team has provided promises and hope-raising expectations way too many times before to have burned me in my predictions. i foolishly predicted playoffs in 2009. i foolishly thought Mularkey's second year was going to be something. and don't get me started on 4-1 in '08. a broken clock is right twice a day. and i'll wait a few weeks before determining whether these Bills are actually for real or whether they caught a Chiefs team in turmoil. that's possible. but please, it's Week 1. it was a good win. an uplifting one. but to bang this drum of the media this and the media that, puh-leeze. we here get it both ways: we're not hard enough on them when they lose; and we don't milk them enough when they win. perhaps this team just might be better. for win-starved Bills fans, i hope that's the case. this town has deserved better. jw
  3. here's the biggest kick i get out of this. Jerry writes something. people agree and disagree with it. and within hours -- hours i tell you -- it's a five, going on six-page thread on TSW. i'm sure it'll get to 10 before long. it's kind of like the standard line we in this business sometimes get from coaches and players, who insist they don't read the papers. and yet, they're able to note somehow word for word what someone wrote. it's interesting. long may we live. jw
  4. here's a link to a piece of mine that just moved on the wire. Fitzpatrick finally gets his shot jw
  5. nefarious, really? gees. all i did was point out that he has played guard, even started more games at guard than some players currently on the Bills line. i don't know if he ever got a chance to practice at guard for much if not all of training camp. that's all i'm saying. jw
  6. ummm, he played guard -- and started -- at Carolina in each of the two seasons before arriving in Buffalo. what's notable is he was never tried at guard during most -- if not all -- of training camp. jw
  7. Cool. Apology accepted. Thanks for the note. jw
  8. i don't know if that's the way anyone has phrased it. jw ADD: heck, NGU might even agree with me on this.
  9. based on how poorly the launch went with the Bills in Toronto series, and the state that series is currently in, i'm not entirely sure what Rogers was thinking or envisioning aside from fans lining up to Queen Street for pricey tickets. that didn't never came close to materializing. jw
  10. i have never been quoted as saying i intend to buy the L.A. Dodgers. does that, by default, then make me a candidate? jw
  11. enough. this is starting to sound like arguing with crayonz. no matter what point anyone cares to make, you come back with this innuendo. i asked for a little respect, to have you spell my name right. you failed. i asked how you pretend to believe you know what and what i don't know. more baloney, second, third and fourth heaping platefuls. i started this thread, so i get the right to end it, too. feel free to open another thread in which seances are held, and psychics are called in to determine what and what i don't know ... and let me tell, you it ain't much. and thanks, Jim in Anchorage for the drunk shoutout, and everyone else for participating. and i apologize to those who feel like rubberneckers at the country fair demolition derby. no, ain't leaving. just closing this mess. i guess, you can say, i give up trying to get an answer from this guy. jw
  12. and there you go again. an apology is not an apology when you come back with this same baloney schtick of pure unadulterated nonesense. you can stick your assertions where ever you might want, but i wash my hands of this now as i have lost all respect in how you have handled yourself through much of this. sorry for giving you the forum to expose yourself as someone delusional enough to believe that you -- and no one else -- are the one and only source of anything of merit. (shakes his head, signs his name) jw
  13. well, actually, two but who's counting as you still can't spell my name right. i really hate to break it to you, but i've never claimed to be a know-all and be-all. the only question i have left is why would you come out write what you did in regards to me. it was so blatantly off the wall and provoke-driven that it's really put both of us in a bad light. and yet you persist with these ham-handed comments in regards to me and my colleagues. it makes me wonder if you have any inside information at all, or whether someone has cracked your password in accessing this board. you come off sounding more like that Jets fan "seeking a trader," than someone who built a very good reputation on this board, only to throw it away with these handgrenade rants about me and everyone else not knowing anything. it's really sad. jw
  14. to have my name spelled right out of respect. unintentionally, by laying out some cards in this thread, i can say that NeverGiveUp isn't entirely in the loop on some things either given one of his responses. but what do i know, given that NeverGiveup apparently knows what i know and don't know. jw
  15. i wasn't at the combine. there was a discussion that took place at the combine, which i've recently found out to be curious. jw
  16. so, you're saying there wasn't a conversation between two people at the 2010 NFL combine in regards to the discussion here at hand? so you're saying that if i got it from the agent, i would be wrong? cool, so i'm not wrong, then. so, you're saying that there wasn't more to Pat Williams departure than what's been detailed here? so you're saying, that the entire coaching staff knew Troy Vincent was placed on IR, when he was, and that a certain person in a great position of power on this team wasn't actually caught off guard by the move? it's all very intriguing. thanks for the response. jw sorry, one last thing: so Jim Overdorf didn't handle the trade? oh, sorry, it's Wawrow. you've had a few chances to get it right, not that i'm questioning your insights and accuracy, here.
  17. again, i don't want to belabor this point, as it is not my intention to run off anyone, but instead to defend myself. like anyone else here, me, you, NGU, crayonz, we should all be entitled to our opinions. so i have no problem when NGU writes: "Overdorf manages the cap and certainly handles contract negotiations, but anyone that thinks he he making any player related decisions is way way off base. He is given parameters on deals and contract and works to them. That is it." or "Relative to Warrow, you can believe what you want there as well." what i don't appreciate is when someone questions how anyone knows something as NGU wrote: "Warrow has no inside information and never has." or "no one is talking to him that has any real information. Not sure what your infatuation is there, but I have never seen anything I would consider inside coming from him. If he claimed it was, it was not accurate. Actually none of the Bills beat reporters have access to anything that would resemble inside information." that's simply wrong and irrational. as how can anyone ever pretend to know that? i'm not asking him to reveal his sources. all i wrote was how i found it convenient that he can hide behind his veil of anonymity and take potshots and make disparaging remarks against someone whose name is his reputation. jw
  18. funny. for everyone here on this board, let me explain that i'd rather not have to go to this extent in calling out someone else in this fashion. it's uncomfortable for me. and i'm sure uncomfortable for a lot of people, including the moderators. however, i didn't start this. and i don't like the fact that my reputation is being called out in this fashion. i don't want to get into a debate as to who has better insight to the Bills, me, him or someone else. all information that's posted here on this board is open to debate. but when someone comes out and openly accuses me of having no knowledge of something, well, that's a little personal. jw
  19. This just moved on AP wire: Jasper cut. Bills hope to keep him on practice squad jw
  20. as the thread in question has now been locked, it leaves a certain unanswered question lingering in regards to my reputation and certain baseless accusations made by an anonymous poster. so i'm opening this thread in the event said poster would care to muster a response, and verify how he believes i don't know what i know. well? jw
  21. well, that's interesting. i was told morning of the draft that the Bills draft order was: 1) Cam Newton. 2) Marcell Dareus. 3) tie: Von Miller and Blaine Gabbert. the stock on Miller was falling because the Bills had questions about Miller's size. jw
