  1. deal done. story just moved. Jackson already en route to Buffalo. jw
  2. and here's the latest update from the AP. http://www.chron.com/sports/article/Bills-in-talks-to-acquire-Seahawks-QB-Jackson-3816615.php jw
  3. just filed update with Pete Carroll confirming trade has been agreed to, but not done yet because there's paperwork left to do. jw
  4. just filed. deal tentatively agreed to but not completed. Bills and Jackson's agent still working out figures on final year of Jackson's contact -- a person familiar with discussions has told The AP. story to move shortly.
  5. not a big martini guy. i'll have one occasionally, though, come to think of it, i don't seem to mind that olive. guess, soaking it in alcohol helps. jw
  6. which is it? good night or not good night? i got my information from Russ Brandon or not? one minute i'm wrong, the next it doesn't matter. Brad Smith will be the 6th receiver is my best guess. produce your facts, unless you're a poser. jw
  7. it's the few people like you, who make posting on this board difficult, because it's quite obvious you assume to know the answers, can easily tell me what to do in the convenience of anonymity under the pretense that you have a true bone to pick because, you have a keyboard and an internet connection, and a conspiracy theory that the sky is falling and the worst is yet to come. don't condescend to me by suggesting what i should and should not do, or suggest to know what i know or don't. and please stop your attempts to provoke me any further because it's an exercise in futility given that i have no respect for you or your opinion given how you came out of the gate attempting to pick a fight by making unsubstantiated allegations and blowhard accusations. first off, you don't even have a grasp of the facts, because you seem blindly unaware of when the lease actually does expire. it's july 2013. and what proof do you have that the lease negotiations are at "a severe stand-still." Cuomo has finally taken the first step by hiring a point man, and there's no reason to suggest -- or fear-monger, as i allege you are doing -- that there won't be progress in the weeks and months to come. as for all the other so-called "points" you pretend to make, it's useless to repeat myself. the third preseason game is regarded as the most lucrative, and it's the one that was essentially sold to Rogers as part of the deal. and you're suggestion that i got this information regarding Springsteen from Russ is so far from reality that it underlines how little you pretend to know. and i hope you're not asking me to reveal sources, here. go tilt at your windmill alone, or better yet, ask Russ Brandon the questions yourself since you have all the questions and answers all wrapped up in one tidy little bow, and report back to us your findings. jw
  8. as i noted, believe what you want to believe. i've cited facts. you've made allegations. there's a difference, though, it would be too much for me to expect you to accept that. jw
  9. 1. who said i got that from Russ? 2. yes, this Rogers story will get me a Pulitzer. 3. you've provided no information in regards to your liking or disliking of olives. 4. the NFL International Committee has already approved the extension of the series for 5 years. 5. what's left is to work out the details between Bills and Rogers. 6. both sides have expressed an interest in renewing the series. 7. i've noted i don't like pineapple on my pizza, also. you? 8. talks were delayed because Bills were busy at training camp, and Rogers folks were busy dealing with Olympic coverage. 9. you already said good night, so why are you still up? 10. really, all this over this one game? yikes. jw
  10. it's clear that you're quite off your rocker, but to suggest people are lying without providing any semblance of proof is insincere and certainly not a something someone in my profession would consider doing. but then, you seem to know how this journalism gig works. it's a little different than how this message board works. you see, anyone can come on here and shake their fist at their computer and go on and on about something, repeating it so many times until they're quite confidently deluded that they're unconditionally right, to which point they proceed to proclaim to the intrawebs that: "I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY, AND I'M GOING TO SAY IT. AND IF SOMEONE SAYS ANYTHING DIFFERENT, WELL, I'M GOING TO SAY IT AGAIN, AND LOUDER, AND CALL PEOPLE OUT ON STUFF, BECAUSE I HAVE A POINT AND I'M VERY PROUD OF IT, AND IT'S BECOME SUCH AN OBSESSION THAT MY ENTIRE WORLD REVOLVES AROUND THIS THEORY, WHICH ISN'T A THEORY BUT INSTEAD A FACT ...." and then mom calls down into the basement, suggesting to get off the computer because it's beddy-byes time. night night. jw oh, and i don't care what anyone says, i still don't like olives. just sayin'
  11. pardon me? i've explained what i was told back in february, and it turns out that what i was told is exactly how it came down. and because i failed to provide you the answer you were looking for in order to fit your one-trick pony of a conspiracy theory, you now go after me? i might not be able to see through what you claim i can't see, and yet, strangely, in this brief interaction, it hasn't taken long for me figure you out. guess i'm one for two. jw
  12. believe what you want. don't know how this applies to this topic, unless i offer to extend you an olive branch. but that's stretching it at best. jw
  13. wha? it's my understanding that Rogers Centre was in negotiations with Bruce Springsteen to host a concert there. the timing of the show was unsettled, but targeted for a date sometime this weekend. turns out, that date was Friday. at the time, it the date was unclear and it was also uncertain an what day the Bills third preseason game would fall. the Bills didn't want to play on a Sunday, because it would give them very limited time in turning things around for their game at Detroit on thursday. so i have absolutely no clue what exactly you're talking about. jw clearly, it's about olives, i think. jw
  14. to each their own. me, i can do without. and ever since moving to Buffalo, a good old pepperoni and cheese does the trick. ... and puh-leeze, don't get me started with the whole pineapple sacrilege. ... jw
  15. me, i'm not a fan of olives. one of the few foods i don't like. my wife, on the other hand, loves them. so it doesn't really matter to me what the price of olives are, given that i'd never buy them for myself. and my wife does most of the shopping, so i guess that would've been a better subject for her to listen in on. jw
  16. Correct. There is either IR or getting cut for players who have opened training camp and fail to make the season-opening active roster. And before someone starts another thread, Troup is not eligible for practice squad. jw
  17. jeepers. 1 week into the preseason and must all threads by hijacked by qb discussion? just wondering. jw
  18. oh crap, let's just find a topic and stick this in, because prodding the blind and naive is relatively easy ¶ i get a big kick out of the ingdignant reactions to my stance against the suburbs. ¶ it's as if i've hit a nerve, which isn't all that bad. ¶ you can have you're cul de sacs and i'll take my innercity crap. ¶ labillz gets a big kick out of my comment that the suburbs are inhumane. ¶ given the losers and pork bellied dipshits who park their suvs out there, ¶ i'm not exactly sure how i'm wrong. ¶ commute this and paul ryan that. ¶ and jesus christ this, ¶ cause the roman catholic church ¶ has a long history of twisting the truth ¶ to fit its crusading destiny. ¶ and yet my mom lives in the suburbs, ¶ and somehow she can accept my point of view. ¶ so flee and flea and justify all you want ¶ and pretend guns don't kill. ¶ i'll sit happily on my urban porch ¶ laughing at the hipocricy ¶ amherst's sinking ¶ and yet my foundation's sound. jw here's the cool thing. if paul ryan excpects to express his deviant views, i call shotgun in suggesting i have the right to mine.
  19. ok, now you're merely looking for trouble. these are the types of comments that weren't said in Buffalo for far too long. in 2009, when the Bills starters failed to score a touchdown in four preseason games, the Bills pretended there was nothing wrong, and things would work themselves out by the time the season began. and then, a week later, Dick Jauron pushed the panic button by firing his offensive coordinator. puhleeze, the fact that the Bills are unhappy with their performance in the first preseason game should be yet another indication that the expectations are higher outside and inside that locker room. and a little pressure and reminder doesn't hurt. and it's important that the players not only realize that, but voice it. sure, they've still got to do it, but what you suggest is pure poke-in-the-eye baloney. and that you continue down this road of passive aggressiveness of "wha? me say somehting?" is pure farce. jw
  20. you might get what i'm saying, but i don't get what you're saying. -- you suggest Stevie shouldn't comment? so, as a team leader, when asked about the team's poor performance, he should say what? nothing: how would that come off? say they played well: right that's a winner, and i'm sure there would be those criticizing him for saying that, eh? or give his side of the story, and say the team needs to play better whether it's preseason or practice because the regular-season opener is only weeks away. -- where did he call out players for their effort? he said they have to play better. -- where did he say anything about attitude during camp? he said they have to start performing up to their expectations, no excuses. -- who's annointed him god? who's suggested he's among the NFL's elite receivers (there are only six or seven of those, which is what makes them "elite," and he's not yet among them and may never be, who knows?) geez. jw
  21. Donte guaranteed a playoff berth, which never materialized. Stevie has not made such a guarantee. he was upset after practice yesterday, in part how the practice ended with a miscommunication that led to an incompletion on the final play of the two-minute drill that closed practice. and was also stewing about the game and how the Bills offense performed. what Stevie said was relevant, because there have been too many times in the past when players didn't step up like this. i think it was an important statement to make after the dud the offense laid on thursday. of course he's got to back that up. that's how things work. a little passion doesn't hurt, no? jw
  22. sick and twisted. in a post-911 world, you're not supposed to have fun on flights. leave the poking and prodding to the TSA. so no soup for you. jw dong, that's funny. and fitting.
  23. nope. he was in the area visiting a friend and asked to come to camp, because he's familiar with both Chan and Wannstedt. jw
