Bills Entire Marketing Dept Steps Down

He has a job. You're obviously paying attention. So what's not working out? jw -
it would have been easy to think so, but the mixed messages provided in their explanation of why they made the move, and the severe cuts that followed doesn't exactly raise confidence in how this team is being operated, and whether the focus is purely on winning. jw

Buffalo Bills Wall of Fame

ummmm, not sure if this has been mentioned, but Saban's already on it. Bennett has been considered, but his off the field issue stood and may continue to stand in his way. jw -
New Wawrow article on the DUKE
Delete This Account replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not sure anyone saw enough from Duke given what he did in preseason games against second- and third-string defenses. He also got off to a slow start in training camp. He did enough to merit addition to the practice squad. And then, according to those I've spoken to, he continued to develop in practices and scout-team situations. GM Brandon Beane told The AP this week he fielded and rejected trade offers for Jones in the preseason. Jones' inability to carve a niche and produce in new-look offense, plus Duke's development led to what happened last week. I believe the Bills like what they see in Duke, but much like Foster's rise last year and mostly disappearance this year, it remains to be seen how things develop. Let's remember, there were a lot of no-namers on the Fitz-magic quarterbacked teams. Few, save Stevie Johnson, made a lasting impact. jw -

Let's straighten out some comments made about me in the since closed Clowney thread. Badobilz erroneously posted that I had "claimed there was nothing to the AB rumors (when there clearly was) ..." Well, that's just plain wrong. In fact, I refuted rapppapapaports report as being totally wrong and that the Bills were not closing in on acquiring AB. I noted that there had been some discussion between the Bills and Steelers about a trade, but it never got very far, and by the time rrappppappapaort reported the trade was apparently near done, he couldn't have been further from the truth. The trade had in fact fallen apart days earlier. Of course, there is this narrative here that the locals never get anything like that. Well, that's baloney, too. More often than not, the locals are refuting much of the speculation that's out there, such as this Clowney to Buffalo baloney. let's move on to 3dening suggesting that citing someone in the organization as shaking their head on the Clowney trade is some way of me not "being tied down." that's baloney, too. i've consistently reported that there is nothing to this clowney to buffalo talk. in fact, the first time i tweeted about it, the response I got was "LOL" from someone familiar with the situation. accuracy certainly isn't a big thing regarding some on this board. similar to the wannabes trying to sell you something they don't know about clowney and the bills. pfffft. jw

Wait, Dave, I missed this a while back and just catching up. I've re-read the piece and florio is once again beating a dead horse of a drum, by making sure to spur unsubstantiated fear in Buffalo, because much like cowherd, he gets his kicks out of doing it. It's a simple and lazy trope. Find the smallest market team that was supposed to be moving after Ralph Wilson died, realize you were wrong in predicting they would move, and carry the narrative forward by finding yet another reason to punt the ball forward. Let me get this straight, florio is actually suggesting that should the Players Association have a say in where teams should be located by having the right to fund new stadium construction, then the Bills future in western New York is in jeopardy. I'm not sure I know of any business model in which a union can dictate these terms. Heck, I'll fund building an AP bureau in Fiji just so I can work there. What florio conveniently continues to ignore and overlook are numerous things: The Pegulas aren't going to move the team. Lease agreement non-relocation clauses. They can't be rendered moot simply because players prefer playing in Hawaii. Relocation is also a matter for the NFL's board of governors. I don't see this conservative group of business people suddenly carving out room at the table in providing players a voice on where they should play. Amusing as it would be, I don't foresee Antonio Brown using an air balloon to arrive at the next owner's meeting, proposing the Raiders avoid moving to Vegas and instead relocate to oh, I don't know, Paris. That Buffalo was used as the example moving forward is florio's MO, in which he conveniently overlooks the case that the Jacksonville Jaguars are considered to be a larger favorite to move than the Bills ever are. And yet, to bring up the Jaguars, it would ruin his point, because the players like Florida. jw

the fear-mongering by PFT is never-ending. remember the annual, LeSean McCoy is going to get traded/cut posts from previous years. i'd suggest not including a link because it only provides the site credence in clicks. it's barely a tip sheet of a site. Florio has authority of predicting the weather. jw

ok. here's how i really can't take you seriously. it's this suggestion that the "bills offense has gone from excellent to gawd-awful under McDermott." you say this with a straight face? the bills, only by virtue of LeSean McCoy, Eric Wood and Richie Incognito -- and a one-dimensional, running quarterback -- ranked 11th and 16th overall in net yards offense under Rex Ryan. but it had very little to do with passing. the bills ranked 27th and 30th behind the tyrod, and that's with a far more talented receiving core than what the team's had under McDermott. oh, we can even go back to the magnificent Orton era, when the Bills finished 18th in yards passing and 26th in total yards. what is this offensive juggernaut that you speak of that preceded McDermott. where were these receivers which during everyone's fantasy draft clamored they wanted to pick in the first round? pray tell, how often bills fans -- not you, of course -- celebrated 100 yard receiving games, 1,200 yard receiving seasons, and Tyrod firmly entrenched in teh 4,000-yard, 35-TD a season club. you bring up Mike Tolbert and Chris Ivory, i'll counter with the unstoppable three-headed monster of Fred Jackson and Anthony Dixon and CJ Spiller in 2014 that inspired fear in every D-line they encountered. that was the year Hogan, who once played lacrosse, essentially clinched his spot on the wall of fame with 41 catches for 426 yards and a whopping total of four tds, or how about we refer to the 2016 season, when Charles Clay led the team with 57 catches. and let's not forget Walt Powell. well, ok, let's. however you want to put it, it's evidently clear how these Bills have certainly regressed. oh, where have you gone Leonard Hankerson? jw

hey, bubba. i didn't start this thread. but since it reflects and outlines the views I expressed, i've chosen to take part in it. 1. i thought i personally insulted you at least three times. 2. i also personally insulted one other poster, whose coat-tails you appear to be riding, as you've really offered up little that's original to this discussion. 3. the above is not an ad hominem attack as it pertains directly to the discussion we're having. 4. you're not criticizing an article, but instead a series of tweets that were shared. 5. at least i have a profession to be unprofessional, unlike you it seems. 6. that would be me personally insulting you a fourth time i believe. jw
