  1. big difference between what happened with Lynch and Spiller's status. a deal to trade Lynch was made well in advance of the trade taking place. Marshawn wanted out and was prepared to force the Bills hand. the team provided assurances that would happen at some point before the trade deadline so long as he didn't cause a distraction. i have no information that this is the case involving Spiller. jw
  2. i'll finish the answer for you. it's quite clear that you're incapable of comprehending that someone might have more answers on certain topics than you, which you find to be incredulous. how could it be that someone actually learned something before you did? impossible as that may sound, it happens, bubba. to suggest that you know what i know is the height of ego, because i might not know much except for the fact that you're incapable of reason on this issue and you continue to prove it with each post you make. to suggest that i didn't learn something that i didn't learn is the height of blather. let's make a deal, then: prove to me that you know what i know. read my mind (ok, beyond that middle finger). no, it's not a trick question, it's the corner you've essentially painted yourself into by calling me out and by not only suggesting i reveal what i know, but the preposterous notion that the story i wrote was inspired by one comment. and it's quite evident that you've pegged your entire argument from the beginning based on the belief it was a result of Duffy's statement, to which i say, and i quote: OOOOPS. but please, enlighten us with your brimless wealth of knowledge, karnac. jw ADD: and please, enjoy the attention that you're bringing upon yourself by going up against "the reporter," because unless you fail to work yourself out of this little picadillo of unwarranted accusations without an apology and retraction, i'm blocking you and calling you out as a charlatan (though, the latter has become quite evident). so i'd suggest you cut your losses. ADDII: please don't find it odd, too, that i'd stake my reputation on this.
  3. funny, given i had the byline. you really are obtuse. jw
  4. here's the thing, we were going to report the Niagara Falls angle with or without Duffy and with or without Dyster. their comments did not prompt the story. jw
  5. yes, you've captured my point entirely. "Let's go Bills." jw
  6. there are questions regarding rising land prices in Buffalo, and that the chance for finding an ideal location in the city may have passed Buffalo by. ... note, i said ideal. i didn't say "any." jw
  7. being snarky because in this overly TMZ-news-every-minute-can't-get-enough-of-it-without-providing-any-time-for-perspective-or-nuance world this actually counts as news. whereas as recently as 10 years ago, this wouldn't have been reported and the world would not be different, as it is no different today than it was before the Eagles were rejected in their bid to get Spiller. in other news, Michael Vick, is still a New York Jet. jw
  8. so, let me get this straight. you don't see any "game-changers" on the horizon, while acknowledging NF has at least a 10 percent chance of winning the site selection sweepstakes. essentially, you're saying a stadium in Niagara Falls could essentially be on the horizon. i'm not into arguing the merits for or against Niagara Falls, but all this talk about "transportation-challenged" Niagara Falls is a bit thin. let me get this straight: should NF, by the very slight chance, actually be selected as a location for a new stadium, this new stadium would materialize out of the Falls mist in virtually an instant before anyone has any iota of a time to plan for never mind improve the infrastructure. jw and who would the powers that be turn to if not, say, the NYState Thruway Authority, which would probably be completely caught off guard by these developments because, oh wait ...
  9. not entirely clear why this is news. i might be wrong, but i'm guessing that several GMs and team presidents around the league have commication devices, which they use to contact one another to discuss a variety of topics including the status and value of players, and what it might take to pry a player loose. sometimes these conversations reach fruition where something called, "a trade," is consumated. other times, probably more than "once," someone rejects the offer either early or late in the process of what's termed "a negotiation." jw
  10. even in death, these threads still come up. really? oddly enough, a majority of respected journalists who make up the Hall of Fame panel and put their reputation on the line for making their votes disagree with you. take it up with them. jw
  11. thanks for having the patience to spell that out, GG. owe you one. jw
  12. read the gdam story. what i reported is what i reported. you are either obtuse or illiterate or both when it comes to me spelling things out. jw
  13. very much so. doesn't mean there shouldn't be room for concern. i've been on record as saying i'm 70 percent confident team will stay in this region.
  14. again, you seem to think it's an obligation by suggesting i share here what i know and/or have been told. you make assumptions in regards to who the AP has or may not have spoken to. you make take a wild flying guess as to what prompted the story, and now you suggest that i lay my cards on the table because you somehow feel obligated to know. your guesses and assumptions have been laughable, and you seem to revel in the process of digging yourself deeper. i'd suggest you stop, but i doubt you'd listen. jw and i certainly hope you're not angling to suggest that i reveal my sources. i block you in a moment's notice if that is the case.
  15. if it is your wish to assume the role of crayonz on this board, please proceed. jw Add: what's also odd, WEO, i don't ever recall being under any obligation to inform you who the AP has spoken to or what those discussions pertained.
  16. your response to this is completely laughable. fully and completely. jw
  17. i'm not saying NF will be the site, but don't you think upgrading the city's infrastructure is going to have to take place one way or another if the city is ever going to re-emerge as a true tourist destination? it's not as if upgrades aren't part of Albany's long-term focus in regards to Niagara Falls. tying those upgrades to a potential NFL stadium would address several needs, which is why the search will include Niagara Falls and surrounding county. ... and let's put it this way, Howard Milstein didn't buy all that land to simply sit on it. jw
  18. it was not a single throwaway comment. Duffy was asked this because the AP had heard that NF was on the table and clearly in the mix of discussion, which went beyond the working group's initial charter limiting the search to Erie County. at no point did the AP report that NF or Niagara County would BE the site. the report clearly noted that NF can't be ruled out. Duffy didn't come out and say this on his own. he was asked by the AP specifically. to suggest the AP based this story on one single comment is dreadfully erroneous. and to suggest a site or sites in Niagara Falls aren't in play is naive at best. there are numerous things in play here and from various perspectives, as noted in the piece, Niagara Falls makes sense on many levels. jw
  19. right, you initially wrote "he's out." now your couching your opinion, which is correct in regards to Jeremy Sr., but the wording of the statement fails to rule out other possibilities. odd, that i need to to spell that out to you. odd, too, that you feel almost all of the information that gets reported is false. how would you know that? or are you going to know backtrack on "almost all." jw there is meaning to the statement, and it's to make sure that there is no speculation in regards to the Bruins' ownership future. they aren't in play. jw
  20. please read the statement carefully. it says something, but it doesn't say all. jw
  21. linked again? what, the first time didn't stick? jw
