ton of stuff i'm dealing with today. already behind. i think the Watkins on special teams stuff is merely a chance to see what he can do in a pinch. but i'm sure it's a question that will be asked. jw -
given the theme of the OP's posts, i've quickly come to the conclusion that he/she has become the new "crayonz" and cannot be taken seriously. this person is simply posting for effect, attention and stir-the-pot reaction for reaction's sake. jw

odd. the one thing i don't see is a price-tag connected to this proposal. cost of stadium? environmental cleanup (acutally, what is the condition of the land)? public cost of building up infrastructure, road ways, marina? is using Ridge Road as a feeder acceptable, given the historical value of the corner of Ridge and South Park? i mean, people question the Niagara Falls proposal over traffic access and lack of infrastructure? not sure if this is any better. jw

the state is as much a part of the lease agreement as Erie County. and i have no clue what you mean by "enjoin." jw it won't happen. gawd. jw please stop posting on this topic. please. IT'S NOT A BUYOUT. IT'S NOT A BUYOUT. IT'S NOT A BUYOUT. the NFL won't have an opportunity to approve Rogers until after a court case over the non-relocation clause. any NFL approval would HAVE to become AFTER the court case. and the NFL would certainly have a vested interested in the court case because it doesn't exactly enjoy the negative publicity that could potentially come out of the case. the process would be extensively delayed, which wouldn't do any good to the NFL or Wilson's estate. the uncertainty the court case would generate wouldn't be good for anyone either. and the NFL would certainly be leery of anyone in the case attempting to pry open its private books. the threat of a court case almost certainly prevents anyone from going after the team with the intention of relocating it before 2020. and it certainly rules out anyone who has publicly mentioned an intent of wanting to relocate the team at all. and anyone seeking relocation of the franchise would require two separate votes. one regarding ownership, the second would be a separate one regarding relocation. i don't know how else to make myself clear here except to reiterate that: IT'S NOT A BUYOUT. jw where's the bash-head emoticon? really, where is it? a prospective buyer doesn't not merely have the right to plunk down $400 million and wash his hands of the Bills in Buffalo. it's NOT a buyout. it's a last-resource penalty. jw -

You're missing the point entirely. They don't get to the NFL approval point without the legal process started. Cuomo will immediately initiate action at any hint of relocation. And those hints are out there. jw -

it's NOT a buyout. it is a disincentive and penalty. there is a huge distinction here. the State and County are not going to cave to a cash payment for numerous reasons. first, they would not accept the offer because that would make them complicit in the potential relocation of the franchise. who in their right mind would want that? second, they feel they have "home-field" advantage by having the case go to a NY court. third, the mere process of a court case is a disincentive that would big down a prospective new owner's timetable and certainly make the anti-litigious NFL happy. fourth, the $400 million payout if all fails. jw -

no. the $400 million is not a buyout. it is in place only if a court fails to grant an injunction on relocation. that means, the Bills future would be tied up in court the minute any new ownership group that has previously expressed an intent on relocating the franchise outside of WNY. should the prospective ownership group then be approved AND pass the legal hurdle, it would then be on the hook to paying the $400 million penalty. the court case would come first. the penalty is the final option. jw that could well happen. however, the argument can and will be made that the Bills former ownership signed off on this agreement and considered it to be fair, which would result in a 3 (state, county and franchise) against 1 (new owners) argument. jw -

i have a list of people i regularly talk to to try to provide perspective on the baloney factor. but it's getting more and more difficult to distinguish given all the noise and nonsense that's out there right now. jw -

ummm, i think we've strayed from the initial point. did what the initial poster suggest actually happen or is it bogus? no one seems to have any links to this thing or anything verified. the trouble that's occurring with this process is speculation and rumor-mongering are now driving the story to the point where it's very difficult to believe anything that's out there. and i fear this is only going to get worse given the vaccuum of any real news. to suggest this is what was discussed on the radio and a failure to follow it up with actual verification will only lead to these endless debates and discussions that repeatedly fill a whole host of speculative threads already on this board. jw -

yay! jw glad to see your making the case of ignorance being bliss. -
but he's the "backup" right? jw your welcome. jw ummmm, right. it's the media's obsession. some of us in the media make fun of the overzealous fans who make a big deal of the schedule coming out and the unveiling of new uniforms, which i oddly find to be incidental to winning. and yet, when it comes to access to seeing actual players practicing the actual game that they're going to play, this is where the "fans" draw the line. good for you. jw

don't tell me what amuses or doesn't amuse me. your flailings at logic and ideas in regards to how i do my job are amusing. ha, ha, ha. jw yes, we search for the truth. and in searching for the truth, we sometimes re-ask the same questions because the answers sometimes don't add up or are incomplete. funny, we in the media are criticized for doing both not enough to find the truth and too much to find the truth. and when we in the media attempt to explain our actions and concerns we are accused of being whiny and defensive. your stance is an easy one to take because no matter my response, you can justify your argument. the truth about Johnny Manziel will come out one way or another, whether he is made available to the media or not. to slow or filter that information really does no one no good, in my opinion. rather than taking away the focus on Manziel, it simply adds to it. the Browns drafted him in order for him to be a leader. and yet they don't seem to have reservations of whether he has leadership skills. seems to me, this decision reflects more on the Browns and Manziel than the media. but we're the ones that are easy to blame. jw all that said, it's a credit to the Bills that they made Seantrel Henderson available given questions about his past. and it's a credit to Seantrel for standing up and answering those questions over the past few days. whether or not he overcomes the "demons," which Doug Whaley referred to, Seantrel has earned my respect for being a standup guy.
