  1. wouldn't count on that ever since, say, late November. jw
  2. that and the 'Mats reference, i'm fully in favor of jw
  3. Believe what you want to believe. Form your own opinion. Stick with the "happy talk" from the Bills marketing department. Do whatever makes you happy. I'm simply not basing my observations on the past 3 days, but on the past 3 months. I'm questioning EJ because he's left himself open to questions. I don't know what others are tweeting, nor do I care. I've formed my own opinion. I also know that there are those inside 1 Bills Drive that have the exact same questions and concerns. but don't believe me. I'm merely presenting what I see and hear. jw
  4. let's hear what Doug Whaley had to say before camp opened when discussing EJ: "By the time we leave training camp, you should see a guy that's standing tall in the huddle and quick and decisive with his decision-making." that's all well and good, and also an indication of qualities EJ currently doesn't possess on a day-to-day basis. no one said that about Kelly, or Brady or Rivers or Brees, as far as I know. Flutie, neither. jw
  5. and, if EJ succeeds, good for him, and good for the Bills and good for Bills fans. people have proven me wrong before. i will be again. bank on it. i'm merely expressing my own perspective based on what i've seen. jw i dunno. headline that moved on the AP wire said the two "differed," not disagreed. they did differ. one said one thing about the performance the other said another. one of the two were wrong, i believe. jw
  6. the ever positive thing. i think he needs to take more of a leadership role and be more assertive. not sure who he's trying to please with these all's good comments. they don't reflect well upon him, in my opinion. i'm told even Tuel expressed disappointment today in the offense's production. if not Tuel, why not EJ. too often, and this is something i failed to mention in the story i wrote today, EJ is starting to get that hang-dog look after a bad throw. that's a discouraging sight from a supposed leader, and people see that, and it has an effect on morale, no? as for some people losing respect for me because i just so happened to defend a friend of mine that they don't like, well, nertz. i didn't defend Tim because he was a friend, i defended him because he did his job. not sure why EJ needed to seek justification by asking a question to a throw-away question. jw
  7. need to chime in here. i don't have it in for EJ. i just don't see a polished quarterback or, for that matter, a lot of improvement from last year. he still misses short throws over the middle. he still seems to hold the ball for way too long. some of the nice throws he's made in camp have been against air. and, give me some credit, i asked questions today about EJ's performance to back up what i saw. EJ called it a "good day." Marrone didn't. And he expressed concern over EJ tucking the ball and scrambling during 7-on-7 drills. does it mean EJ won't get better as camp progresses? no. but, i had much of the exact same concerns a year ago. even after the Indy game when some tabbed EJ as having shown signs of arrival. and i got rapped for the mere suggesting that I would have preferred EJ led the touchdown drive against the Colts starters and not the second-stringers late in the second quarter. i don't base this on subjectivity. i base my observations on what i've seen. and i must admit, i think i've watched all but 5 or 6 of Bills practices and minicamps that are open to the media since EJ was drafted. i'm not sure i'm seeing a lot of progression here. my two cents. jw
  8. umm, because some of us aren't ostriches. jw
  9. way late to this party, in part because i've been on vacation. but: wha?!? jw they're considered strong bidders because they are considered to be ready to make a strong pitch. jw
  10. the Bills are western New York's to lose. make what of that that you will. it's as far as i can go. jw
  11. a quick sale process is all i'm hearing. no reasons why that i can ascertain. jw
  12. I keep hearing an emphasis on parties wanting the team to be sold sooner than later. And though there could be hiccups in the process, so far the timetable proposed in the AP story, though somewhat ambitious, remains an objective. jw
  13. i answered that question, and noted that it was my mistake. Pegula still owns East Resources, which sold of many of its assets to Royal Dutch Shell back in 2010. jw
  14. here's parody: is Jauronimo helping or hurting this thread? jw
  15. and yet, you actually don't help things here by muddling the topic by contributing to the end of serious discussion. ummm, good for you? jw
  16. Yes. jw Jeremy Jacobs Sr. can't own the Bills and the Bruins. But his sons can divest themselves of the Bruins and own the Bills, as happened with the Kronke family's cross-ownership of the Rams and Avalanche. That said, the Jacobs are less interested in getting involved in NFL ownership because of league rules regarding ties to gambling holdings, which the Jacobs have through Delaware North. jw
  17. be very wary of some reports as some "sources" are over-stating their case, and attempting to manipulate the media and the process. sorry, for now, i can't say anything more. jw
  18. the release of the valuation is a mere formality. talks and discussions have been going on well before Morgan Stanley releases the "book" on the Bills. the key is getting on the list of prospective candidates. and no one, to my knowledge, can say who is or isn't on that list as of yet. jw
  19. too early to say. Pegula will be among the front-runners if he elects to make a bid. expecting at least one other big name (out of towner, likely) to emerge that has yet to be mentioned. jw
  20. Though Pegula is "leaning" toward making a bid, he's not yet preparing one. That would be the next step in the process but, I'm told, it would be a big stretch to suggest he's gone that far down that road. jw
  21. no, it's not. it's the front of the field house, directly facing Abbott Road. jw
  22. actually, you are right. my mistake there. that said, he still didn't pocket the entire amount. jw
  23. a few words of caution or perspective: Pegula isn't pocketing the entire amount. he was merely a part of the deal. how big/small a part, i don't know. keep in mind, East Resources is no longer his company. he sold that to Shell. so Pegula was among the unnamed company in the deal. keep in mind, though he owns East Resources, the sale also included an unnamed company, leaving it unclear as to how the money was split. also, the timing of the deal is coincidental to the fact the Bills are now for sale. the two are exclusive to each other. that doesn't mean Terry Pegula isn't considering buying the Bills, and this sale of land will help his bottom line. jw
