c'mon. i've got punchlines and you've got dogma. don't try to pretend this crap makes sense. good lord, trump's trolling the entire nation, and now palin's bought in. give me a shout when the zombies take control. i'll hang up and listen. jw oh, wait. flint. oh, wait, cruz is a canadian, just like me. oh wait, you don't like jeb. oh, wait, you cum at the mentions of guns. oh, wait, you're nuts. ha. ha. ha. ha. and? i have no absolute clue what's happened to conservatism. seems inbred these days. for shame i'll bring up nixon's health care initiative, but i'm sure you'll bring up watergate, what exactly do republicans stand for these days? if the dummification of society is the answer, i'll buy. i'll convert to muslim, too. and buy guns. lots of them.

well, sure, yesterday wasn't that long ago. jw evidently, the definition of "widely" has been changed without our knowledge. jw it is not. that relationship became strained after the opt out. what's stranger still, the two wound up in Jacksonville together. jw -

Dear Diary: Still don't understand why Syracuse City Council is holding up my request to rename State Street to Doug Marrone Way. stdm

Dear Diary: Got to really hand it to myself, not only am I back being a hot candidate again, I snagged an extra bag of nuts on the flight to Cleveland this morning. Probably coulda got a few more freebies, ok? but I was busy preparing my opening remarks for my introductory news conference as head football coach of the Browns. How's this to start off: "North-Central Ohio really reminds me a lot of Central New York." Nailed it. Right there, it makes it sound like I'm one of them. And I know this town, OK? It's got the streets and the avenues and the traffic lights, just like Syracuse. Hey, I can relate, even the team's colors are orange! Best of all, I'm used to rebuilding projects like this. We did it in New Orleans, where I taught Drew Brees to be a star. We did it in Syracuse. And in Buffalo, where I left because, hey, we won. 9-7, ok? And let me tell you -- i'm a straight-shooter, right? -- Gus couldn't thank me any harder about the job I did in Jacksonville. No way, we win two games without me. Now Gus didn't exactly come out and say it, but I know he knows, OK. I saved his job, just like I promised. And now it's time to continue on my legacy. Sure, Pettine tried, but I can't help but say that I didn't warn him. Leaving my side was the worst decision he could'a made. Now we'll show him. STDM p.s. I even brought along my two Pinstripe Bowl championship trophies to show 'em what winning looks like.

Neil Peart calls it quits.

one: i don't hate rush. i just think they're over-rated. i saw them perform numerous times in the late 1970s, including front-row seats at either the Joe or Cobo Hall in Detroit (can't remember which). two: the reasons i moved away from liking rush was discovering bands such as The Clash, Cheap Trick, the Pretenders (first two albums), Tom Waits (Rain Dogs), the Jam and eventually the replacements, among others, and determining that i'd prefer my rock and roll to feature more of a snarl than something involving red barchettas. three: heck, of songs about red cars, rush's pales dreadfully in comparison to Prince's Little Red Corvette. jw -
D&C takes on the Buffalo News
Delete This Account replied to Casey D's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, not all of the national media picked up the story. The AP did not. jw -
Might be an assistant on way out. Also foresee changes to LB group. Curious to see what happens on O-Line. Though Incognito wants to be back, and Bills want him back, he is going to be a popular guy in free agency. jw Can't see it happening this offseason. No point adding another voice into this mix. jw

Not sure if that's the case. There was a split between Cassel and Tyrod heading into last weekend. Some wanted one, others wanted the other. It came down to Rex breaking the deadlock by going with Tyrod. Once Tyrod was named the starter, then it became evident that Cassel's contract was too expensive for a backup job -- though some who supported Tyrod pushed in part for Tyrod by knowing it would lead to Cassel's departure.. So, by Wednesday, there were discussions but no decision made on what to do with Cassel. And the decision was not dependent on how Simms did in the preseason game. And then it reached the point where Cassel was cut today. Check my timeline. These are all things that I've tweeted. I have also tweeted that I have concerns about Tyrod maintaining his consistency once the season begins. I say that, because he's never had an NFL start. And I was tweeting this in the face of everyone going ga-ga over Tyrod during the Cleveland preseason game. I like Tyrod. I think he earned the job and has a chance to be a dynamic player. That doesn't mean I'm fully and completely sold on the guy as being good. I believe I've tweeted comments to that effect as well. To suggest I've been all over the place on this, is a little much. jw

Perhaps OT? Timmy Graham's Twitter Pillow Fight

Feel however you like. Tim is a very good friend and I will never apologize for that. jw -
yours is a very extremely convenient argument to make. i don't answer to you. jw that's just it. he didn't parrot it. he acknowledged it and then spoke in his own words, which were telling. no seed was planted. it's a fair question and one that's been asked of him and on this board for months. ... years? and you conveniently fail to forget that a follow up question was asked and he provided a mixed response, saying no, but then acknowledging that this is a business. believe it or don't. it's what he said, and the first time he's said it. that it doesn't fit what you think is his state of mind, that's not my problem. and if those who just happen to have read the story, the first line is more than fair, before the second paragraph gets into the details of what he said. jw thanks. jw

i believe i've already answered this question. jw odd, when he was asked if his days were numbered, he provided that response, which included the phrase "somewhere else." not sure how this is fabricated, as this is what he said to a direct question. and having never said "somewhere else" before, this was an indication that he was finally wondering whether his days in Buffalo were, in fact, numbered. also, it seems that EJ didn't take any issue with how this story was written, and how he was quoted, when i finally had a chance to meet with him again in the locker room yesterday. seems odd -- and/or predictable -- that you're pounding this drum without any perspective of what was said. but please, proceed in this fascinating exchange of what you think you know as opposed to what you don't. jw

Those were the two headlines that were atop the story that moved/was published on the AP wire. jw I sent out several tweets. in order: More to come: Speaking to AP, #Bills QB Manuel doesn't dispute possibility his days in Buffalo might be numbered. http://pro32.ap.org/article/manuel-confident-he-can-succeed-buffalo-or-somewhere-else … #Bills Manuel to AP: "If I play well, it should take care of itself. Whether it's here or whether it's somewhere else, I don't know," And full version's out: #Bills QB Manuel tells AP he's confident he can succeed in Buffalo or `somewhere else' http://pro32.ap.org/article/manuel-confident-he-can-succeed-buffalo-or-somewhere-else … And finally: John Wawrow @john_wawrow Aug 17 John Wawrow retweeted Rob Quinn No. But he's never acknowledged "anywhere else," before. John Wawrow added, Rob Quinn @RQUINN619 Is this surprising? https://twitter.com/john_wawrow/status/633386233322962944 … jw
