  1. you've got my vote. jw
  2. interesting background on Byrd and how he's grown up in an NFL environment. AP: Byrd off to a soaring start. jw
  3. hey Steely, am i still banned from posting on this thread? jw
  4. ah, cmo'n guys. you obviously d'on't know punctuation or gramma.r jw ADD: does this count for flammin?
  5. has the pass rush really been that weak? 16 sacks in seven games. only 5 teams have registered more sacks, though the Bills sacks per play is down, which is partially a result of the defense being on the field for so long. and yet, 16 sacks is already 8 short of what they had last year. add to that, the bills have applied enough pressure to contribute to help their backfield register 12 interceptions. i can't say how many picks were the result of qb pressures, but the two do go together. as for Kyle's potential loss, well, it doesn't help. don't know why i'm responding to two posters who, at this reading, had 8 posts between them, but what the heck. maybe i should mind my own business and let the perceptions carry this thread. jw
  6. Sen: the other Sen got his nickname in part, as someone noted, his NFLPA ties, though he had them before he formally became involved in the union. he was given that handle because he's quite the locker room orator. now, i've read your posts, so what the hell's your excuse, eh? jw
  7. including you. i've been joking all along. thus the OR reference. have you, Lothar, been "the OR" as crayonz puts it. wonderful area of the continent. jw
  8. maybe the bills have more skills than their competitors on fourth-down, thus their success. by your logic, the bills third-down offense is among the worst in the NFL, which means things will soon be looking up, because they're now bound to rise up to the average, right? jw PS: yes, portland's a nice town. i do enjoy the drive along the coast, though. very pretty.
  9. i get your point, but yet the numbers are somewhat skewed, i think. and wouldn't you have to take into account points allowed? for example, the Bills beat the Jets who have the 4th best defense in points allowed. and the Bills nearly beat the Pats, who currently rank 3rd. on the other hand, oakland ranks 31st in points scored and yet somehow beat Philly, while Minnesota (3rd) lost to Pittsburgh (13t). i think your formula's a little simplistic. jw
  10. well, by your logic, Tiger Woods' chances of winning another tournament are greatly diminished ... likely close to nil by now, eh? jw
  11. i have been to oregon, yes. but going back to your fourth-down logic, how do you explain the Patriots beating the flip-coin odds by going 16-0, or the Lions beating those same odds by going 0-16. the chances of that happening were out of this world, right? and yet it happened. there's proof of that happening. so who's to say the fourth-down trend doesn't continue? jw
  12. thus the surgery, of course.
  13. wrongo, he still would've missed time because of his sports hernia operation ... but thanks for playing. jw
  14. how did the Pats have the 4th ranked offense when they hadn't played a game at the time the Bills played them? and, seriously, i don't know where you're getting your numbers from, because they're different from what i have in front of me. Houston - 10th ranked offense. Titans - 22nd Jaguars - 11th Miami - 16th Jets - 17th Chiefs - 30th Patriots - 3rd Atlanta - 19th Colts - 4th heck, by your logic, in beating the Jets, the Bills actually beat what's currently the NFL's No. 1 rushing attack, which I'm guessing is No. 1 in part because it racked up 318 yards against Buffalo. this is a little head-scratching, don't you think? jw
  15. this from a person who questioned Byrd's commitment for refusing to break NFL rules and attend spring minicamps. what say you now after 5 interceptions in seven games oh sage one? jw
  16. wonderful, 2 trade threads started within 5 minutes of each other. welcome back, SKOOBY. jw
  17. well, duh. i wanna be the last post. No. 2 objective, is to bug you, of course. jw
  18. the apt reply is: why's that matter, when you're their biggest seller ... jw
  19. i hereby make an appeal for an exemption, in considering that i am a member of the national, not local media. jw
  20. dumbest move of all time? ... biggest exaggeration by a poster of this hour, perhaps. woah, i'd hate to see when you're real angry and not just blowing off steam, considering you actually credited the front office, to a certain degree, for trading Peters. except for the one exclamation mark, this just might be the most even-keeled blowing of steam post of all time ... and i don't think i'm exaggerating. jw
  21. 15 minutes is over, pally. jw
  22. provoding? that's almost as fonny (sic) as attempting to squeeze in the shoot the messenger analogy , which doesn't actually fit this case./ jw
