i was planning to do a piece on maybe it's time to write-in Byrd, but the NFL apparently elected to add him. i'm trying to pin down when Byrd was added to the list: anybody seem to know? jw

i don't know if Brohm is, in fact, the better qb. jw

and yet the Bills won. how is that any different from Brian Moorman throwing the Bills longest pass -- a 25 yarder -- in a game Trent threw for 156 yards and no scores in a 27-7 loss to Saints. Or, the 14-of-25 for 128 yards outing against Pats to close last season. or the 268 yards Trent combined for in back to back losses to New England and Cleveland last year. or the 152 yards he managed in a 6-3 loss to Cleveland this year. as for interceptions, what about the one Trent threw into the flats down near the goal line against Dallas two years ago. or the stretch of 6 interceptions in four games he endured this year. again, this is a game about winning, and the Bills have proven this season that they can win more with Fitzpatrick. that is not up for debate. no buts .... jw

dog: you're right. it's all pure speculation. hamdan was cut because the Bills went out and signed Brohm don't know if T.O. stabbed anyone in the back, there were some already questioning Edwards' play well before he was benched. Donte Whitner all but said it publicly when voicing his support for Vick. Fitz has worse numbers than Edwards, and yet has more wins than Edwards this year. he's doing far more with far less. and really, when you think about this all objectively, Fitzpatrick's ability to at least target T.O. and Lee is what this offense was supposed to be about, not checkdowns to RBs out of the backfield and 2-yard dumps to TEs. hey, i thought Edwards had potential a while ago, and decided to judge him on the basis of how he'd do with the Evans/T.O. combination this season. it didn't work. and if a QB can't do something with that combo, well, not likely that QB is starter-worthy. no buts ... jw

he is. jw

point taken, but that's a lot of what-ifs. and i'm not entirely sure how much support he has in the locker room, so they might have to change that, too. jw

if by speculation, you mean wildest dreams, then you're certainly on to something. jw

this will never, ever, ever happen for various reasons. jw

after a night of drinking, i got to go pee-nuts. jw

have you ever posted anything positive? and if so, please provide some proof. i got a real big chuckle out of this one, because it's become evident that you'd find something wrong with winning the lottery on a sunny day, right after you inherited a beer factory and married Ms. Scarlett Johansson before rushing off to Europe to accept a Nobel Peace Prize. it's football. Perry did an ok job for one game. why such negativity? jw -
Hope a speedy and full recovery to you Eric.....

it was a graphic and gruesome injury and it's been described as "compound fracture." he should be back in town today. and yes, he is a good kid. i've enjoyed dealing with him so far. jw Happy Thanksgiving to all. -
Shanahan Considered "Legitimate Candidate"

full version of story should be out there, and includes mention of Schottenheimer as a candidate. read into that what you might. jw -
hmm. that is what he said ... but ... jw

without going into detail, it's a back-and-forth. ie: -- when Mr. Wilson learned T.O. was cut by Dallas, he called Russ to sign him. -- there are other times when Mr. Wilson, as team president and owner, relies on suggestions from his front-office people before signing off on moves, signings. and it's because of this setup why it's difficult to judge the jobs Modrak and Guy are doing. jw

i won't deny having a healthy ego, and it's also become readily apparent that i'm able to string a post together without resorting to profanities. there's really no place for that. jw

the full evaluation will begin at the end of the season. in the meantime, does everyone expect the Bills to sit on their hands until then? just asking. jw -
JC: My strong belief is that Turk's firing was Jauron's doing. AVP and Jauron traveled to Mr. Wilson's home after Turk was fired. And if you need any more proof that Dick fired Turk, it was in Turk's candid response, referring to the coach (not the owner) for wanting some Pop Warner attack. I can't go into further detail into what I know. jw

hearing rumors and reporting facts are two different things in this business, Coach T. the difficulty in doing this job is getting the particulars to speak on or off the record. you'll note that no one -- from LaCanfora to Shefter and on down -- haven't been able to do that on regular, semi-regular or monthly basis. there's no compliciteness on the part of the media. the show is run by Ralph Wilson, who talks sparingly at best. and before that, the show was run by tom donahoe, who eventually alienated nearly everyone in town. jw

i doust, because i angst -- oops, amst. jw

and i never intimated i was insecure. jw ADD: i'm merely following up on several questions that have been raised in this thread. if you lack center because you've lived in several towns, then i can't help but wonder whether you, too, are being defensive -- vast or not -- by your own assertion. because, in all due respect, how does being in one place or in 12 help this discussion?
