Bills Tender Keith Freaking Ellison
Delete This Account replied to Rzon604's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
for someone who called someone out for failing to spell nickel correctly (though in Canada, it is spelled "nickle"), you seem to have an odd way of proving yourself, Mr. Webster. though spell-checking and grammer, it appears, might be the least of your problems. the lack of coherence in the point you are trying to make -- and where did i ever refer to you as "an idiot" -- certainly goes a long way towards burying yourself. i would, humbly, suggest you stop digging any time soon. jw -

ok, mr. 18 posts. that's enough. this villifying other posters for providing their opinion is way over the line, buddy. keith ellison is a good backup player, who was never meant to be a starter, but always wound up filling in adequately when the need arose. you can write as much as you want in capital letters and make school-ground accusations in a bid to bully others, but it doesn't fly. i like Keith Ellison, and i think it's a smart move by the bills to tender him. as others here have posted, to lose him for nothing would be foolish. jw -

Had a nice relaxing weekend, thanks. But got thrust back in the baloney of the real world today when I spent the entire day dealing with and ridding my computer of yet another nasty virus. And apparently I wasn't far from the only one affected. WORD OF WARNING TO ALL: DO NOT OPEN AN E-MAIL PROPORTEDLY FROM UPS. IT'S A FAKE. (funny, I avoided the Hallmark and Google ones that came out last week, only to fall for this one ... damn). Good news is it's fixed. And of course I was merely sticking my big fat nose into a "Canada/USA" debate that seemed to be derailed. Me, I was a big fan of the Swiss women (now, now). Their celebration after clinching 5th, and the sheer joy they displayed, was one of my favorite Olympic moments. cheers jw

right, a time like, say, after you win a gold medal and a place like, say, on the surface you won that gold medal. this reeks a bit of sexism, if it were Brett Hull or Messier or whomever, no one would've blinked an eye. c'mon. jw -
Sitting at YVR, waiting for the 11:21 a.m. flight to Chicago and beyond to board. Got the ipod cranked with the Foo's "Everlong" just popping up and it's one of my favorite songs. And these past 21 days have been a blast. I can barely remember my life before the Olympics, and lord knows what lies ahead except for a few days off to decompress. I left a half-filled bottle of Jameson in my room, and also one bottle of beer in the fridge, the last man standing from a six-pack me and sports columnist John Leceister had on our late-night trip from Whistler. Too much has happened to put it into perspective just yet, because it feels like I've been here for a year. What's funny, is that they're boarding a flight to Honolulu next to my gate, and I have no desire to go. It's Buffalo or bust. See ya soon. jw

so, i'm out here in vancouver-town with a room overlooking the stanley park and the north shore mountains, and i check in on this thread and see that beerball has made it through his little drama and that mrs. beerball has joined the tbd club and, well, everyone's patting each other on the back and pretending that they liked beerball in the first place, and i start to wonder whether any of this really matters. and i realize that it does. jw (didn't see that one coming, did you ...)

dang, Lori, I was just going to post a link to the AP site. that said, for those not familiar with the culture of curling, and why it's so popular, here's a quick rundown on how it works, and this includes small bonspiels (tournaments) or major ones. -- you curl. -- then you go to the beer tent and drink. and i'm not making this up. i covered a national curling championship in B.C. some 15 years ago, and if ever i needed a quote from a participant, they were easily found in the beer tent. for me, i've never played the game, skipping (to pardon the pun for those who know curling) the playing part, and instead heading straight for the finish. jw ok, i'm done. packing up and heading out. see y'all later.

thanks for reminding me. ... i just signed up to follow AP twitter myself. right on it. i hope they don't parade out brian (i'm now living in england, but used to be from vancouver) adams. will keep an eye open for the dummies, though. hey, let's not get too far. i am a pro remember. yes, Bastard of Young! i did, thus the post. thanks but i know my way around. spent 12 years living out there. hoping to hit the No. 5 Orange for old times sake. jw by the way, has anyone seen the Hitler T.O. video? i know it came out back in March, but i've looked back several pages, and didn't see anything posted about it.

T.O. disses the B-Lo in Miami
Delete This Account replied to weehawk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
easy, come up with a motto of our own: "Hey, we got Apples, too!" "T.O. never dissed Henderson County like he has Buffalo!" "Buffalo: Now Greggo-free since 2003!" "Buffalo: If it's too cold, you're too thin-skinned!" "Welcome to Buffalo (except the guy from the Henderson paper who wrote a column about us that we didn't like very much)." "Welcome to Buffalo: Peace Bridge debate still raging." Or, as Jon Stewart told the crowd at UB a few years back: "Welcome to Buffalo, the Gateway to Fort Erie." sorry, little punchy today. enough procrastinating. jw -

hey, what the hell happened to my thread. it appears to have been hijacked. why you, crayonz! ;) xtc was ok. they weren't the next best thing to sliced bread. they were a pretentiously serious band that came out with a few good songs, but otherwise were lost in their own blather of sugar-coated riffs, and foolish digressions. in my opinion, the crash-test dummies' version of pumpkinhead was better, not that i was a fan of the dummies. sheesh jw proceed.
