  1. If they're not meshing and working well together they did an academy award-winning job of faking it today. Still, Whaley can take it out of "victim" mode...I am not interested in hearing him intimate that Tim Graham is just making **** up because they're not winning enough. I agree what Sully and Bucky do borders on trolling sometimes. But I also think they come about their opinions honestly. I don't for a second believe Tim Graham invents sources. I DO, however, think it's a bad look when people at OBD start crying that unflattering reports are just "tabloid" writing. That sounds like the insane anti-media clown posse we have posting here every day. For once, I think Whaley did a great job in front of the microphones today. He shouldn't cheapen it by acting like a victim.
  2. i think their "model" is to draft a future HOF at QB and let the rest take care of itself.
  3. I don't think(?) I ever said he was wrong. I have enjoyed having McCoy around. The only place I might have disagreed is that I seem to think he's still a better player than badol. But this is the 2nd year in a row that injuries have taken a big bite out of his production. So it's hard to argue the notion we're living on very expensive borrowed time with this guy.
  4. oh brother. yes, i understand good teams spend to the cap...and that it goes up. but i also know if we're going got cut a bunch of guys to clear space we need to sign a bunch to replace them. especially since several of them are starters. i can't tell you exactly how much space we'll need, because I don't know who's available that might help us. but if we're cutting mario to (hopefully) re-sign glenn and incognito, that doesn't leave much to play with. and we'll still need a safety, DT, kicker, linebacker...not to mention another good WR. Muhammed Wilkerson would be a HUGE get for this defense, but we have no shot at him. whaley all but confirmed it today. I'm not saying we could have gotten him wioth mccoy's money...i know it wouldn't be enough. but it would have helped. it might have gotten us close enough to make it realistic and as badol mentioned, the problem only gets worse next year. i'd like to keep gilmore around after next season. and if, god forbid, we should win 10 or 11 games, how are we going to pay taylor? you can deny its a problem if you want, but that doesn't change the fact that it limits what we can do to make the team better. and that's disappointing because i don't think we're far off.
  5. i never said it couldn't be made better. making it "better" is not the same as making it good.
  6. lol....i especially love the threads simply titled "Jerry Sullivan." at least once a month a jerry bitchfest pops up with that same title and same-sounding complaint. "OOOOOHHHHH he's so MEAN!" i don't happen to agree with him, but we'll see. surely predicting doom and trouble for the bills has been a winning hand for a long time.
  7. I know we're all supposed to hate Mike Rodak, but I think this piece is helpful for Bills fans...it also indirectly brings the dubious nature of McCoy's contract back up for discussion I know that's been done to death, but the article shows why in better detail: http://espn.go.com/blog/buffalo-bills/post/_/id/23161/answering-key-bills-2016-free-agency-and-salary-cap-questions I agree with most here that on a player-for-player basis, the trade worked (unless someone can convince me that Kiko would have lit it up here this year- I haven't seen anyone make that point). But the generous extension was unnecessary and ties our hands going forward. they basically overpaid McCoy to get him to report. Now we have a problem. The left side of our OL is going to get a big raise one way or the other. If/when we cut Mario, we probably have enough money to keep them, but not much more. McCoy's big cap number is a problem. If everyone can put their torches and pitchforks down long enough to accept that the defense could improve with a few new pieces, you could have some hope for next year- only now our options are limited due to cap restraints. Whaley's getting a chance to sort this out, but he must use better judgment going forward. We also need a HELL of a draft to fill some of these holes. This past year looks like Whaley's best so far, he'll need to prove it wasn't a fluke. I still think we're positioned to be BETTER next year, but the biggest obstacle is not Rex, it's our tight cap situation.
  8. are you even done with middle school? no seriously.
  9. i don't pray about anything. i think the defense will be better and the offense will (hopefully) be close to what it was this year. if that happens,i see 10 wins next year ...a lot easier than i could this year. the obstacles are: 1. not losing the left side of our line to free agency. and improving the right side. 2. taylor not improving. a lot of people talk about him getting better as a foregone conclusion, but i think it's far from certain. i don't consider coaching a huge obstacle. we get the same level of coaching as at least 80% of the league.
  10. I called him average once and caught hell for it- even though I considered it a complement. So I reconsidered, and changed my mind. Now I'd say he's average at best. Best QB we've had in years and he was almost invisible...other than his falls and drops. 72nd in yardage. 1 TD every 4th game for his career...dispersed rather evenly, I might add. As bad as we need offensive help every year, his production has been very disappointing for a 2nd rounder. "BUT...B-BUT...NO WAY!...HE ALSO BLOCKS!!!!" they scream. He'd better, because he doesn't really do much else to help the team put points up. I don't understand why he escapes scrutiny.
  11. I thought this thread was going to be about the Bills.

  18. DAMN. these are my favorite games, hands down. I so wish i could be there. "When it's too tough for them, it's just right for us" pertains to Bills FANS too! Dressing up like a blue michelin man...tailgating in the snow with music and fires and great stuff cooking everywhere...CAN'T BEAT IT. Thank goodness Santa brought us a 50" tv to watch it on The kids will love it. What a great way to end New York's season! GO BILLS!!
