  1. he likes to say that, but it's not quite true. the fact that they can't find antibodies in his blood does not mean that there's no virus left, nor does it mean the drugs will work forever. the treatment regiman he made famous is routinely and inexpensively administered now, but there have been other like him who have had their antibodies disappear, only to get sick and die later.
  2. anyone else wonder this after the avalanche of praise this guy has gotten since he's been activated? not to criticize, but why WAS he cut?!
  3. and congrats to everyone who has kicked the habit...i have a speaker visit my classes every year who has 1 lung thanks to tobacco...every time he tells his story to another group of kids i cringe.
  4. easy guys, it's just an awareness thing, they've been doing it for years...herpes isn't the scourge on global health that AIDS is...i'm sure you have read about the catastrophe of HIV infestion in underdeveloped countries... i'm sure many here will find a reason to criticize it, but a little education doesn't hurt.
  5. i couldn't open your link b/c of the firewall here at work, but it was interesting to hear you mention about the weird dreams. my mom just quit after 35 YEARS( 4 months and counting ) and she used the patches for awhile...she had the same compalints about the dreams....nightmares, she called them...so much so that she got off them early. i figured it must be something about having a stimulant drug coursing through your brain while you sleep that causes it, but does anyone know of any definitive explanation?
  6. i disagree greg...it wasn't very long ago when you could have said the same thing about lsu, usc, and oklahoma to name a few....it is all about finding the right coach to come in and catch lightning in a bottle...if they find a coach with the charisma and touch to make good players better, then the studs will FLOCK to notre dame once again. i have always rooted against ND so i hope it doesn't happen, but as a guy who has always rooted FOR both lsu and usc...and long since given them up for dead before saban and carrol came aboard, i am telling you that program is 1 good coach and about 3 seasons from a national championship. this is NOTRE DAME we're talking about. and ps...you can say the same thing about penn st....and i love to see them lose too.
  7. agree totally...she's cute, but WAY too butch.. she's definitely joe namath's type, though.
  8. i was heavily into beer-league ice hockey a few years ago. my team at the time was "the jesters," i wore #43. i was a "little-engine-that-could" type of winger. except, the truth was that i was too little, and really only barely could...and depending on who my center was, i flat out couldn't. so after scoring only about 20-25 goals in four years, i hung up my skates and started running again. but i had such a hard-on over my post count i didn't want to change my name. the end B).
  9. he wouldn't be the first rookie qb to cool down after the a little film has accumulated on him. all i know for sure is, the team i saw yesterday can definitely beat pittsburgh
  10. that's all i did this weekend...i think that's why the multitude of scenarios is making my head spin...
  11. wow...he did that to his friends? (hurl)
  12. damn...it's still too crazy to think about...i vote we just go beat on the fish next week, and bank on blind faith that 10-6 is good enough 90% of the time.
  13. did i mention that i thought the place looked cool?
  14. that place looks like a cathedral! between the way-cool architecture and the skyline views it looked really cool on tv. is that a retractable roof or is it just built that way to keep the fans dry? either way, it looked pretty cool. plus i liked the odd shape of the endzone section.
  15. i say no one offers more than a mid/low 3rd round pick for travis, and therefore we keep him on the roster next season...and let him walk afterward. with his contract situation he is CHEAP INSURANCE at the rb position...why WOULDN'T we keep him around? unless somebody sees something in burns and williams that i don't, i say it's a no brainer. now if TD somehow swindles a pick in the 40s or 50s out of somebody, then it's a different story, but i don't see it happening.
  16. tackler rolled on his leg as he was bringing him down and broke the fibula in the process...i bet it freakin hurt.
  17. i never thought they were THAT horrible to begin with. my friend who inexplicably likes the fish told me recently that 6 of their losses were by 7 points or less, and in all 6 of those games they threw a pick for a td. so they're in games, and capable of winning. and i don't think they're exactly afraid of the bills. bledsoe needs to play the same game vs. them that he did yesterday...minus the ugly picks. i'm not putting it in the win column just yet.
  18. holy cow...i just re-read the first post on this thread and i gotta say... HOO BOY I MUST HAVE BEEN RIPPED LAST NIGHT! peace and serenity? what the !@#$ was i thinking? i am very happy we won the game though. AND YEAH....GO OWLS! hell, even coach chaney says we have a shot at being good for a change. i've never heard him talk like that in november in 21 years!
  19. if he plays like he did today, he can have the job...i am not predicting that necessarily, but i sure do hope...
  20. maybe not, but if continues to operate the offense the way he did today(picks notwithstanding), i can certainly tolerate him under center. that's the most poise he's shown since the first half of of the 02 season. i don't think losman is capable of running an offense the way bledsoe did today (not yeat) and while there is ANY hope for this season...he'd better just watch and learn. the whole point is not benching one guy or the other, it is getting production out of whomever is out there. bledsoe was productive today so he can keephis job for now as far as i'm concerned. i give him credit, inever thought i'd see him play that well again.
  21. persnoally i would not take a 3rd for henry... i would rather have him next year- even though we'd likely get nothing for him following the 05 season. his contract in 05 is for peanuts, plus RUNNING BACKS GET HURT!
  22. seriously...a few more game like this and there won't be much left to B word about! people will stop calling each other !@#$s and !@#$heads and stevestojan-for brains...we might all go back to being friends...no more threats of beer showers or spearing contests at lot 1 pole 6...it would certainly be the most peaceful time i have known here, as i first logged on the day that wade announced flutie would be bneched for rj in the playoff game. i have never known true peace on tbd...could it finally be coming?!
  23. i seriously cannot ever remember a game in which the bills coaching staff so thoroughly OUTFOXED the opposing coaches...much less a head coach with a super bowl ring. and much credit to the players, INCLUDING THE WHIPPING BOY BLEDSOE for executing all the little gadget plays. that fake qb sneak TD pass to willis was a thing of beauty. if these guys can execute offensively with that kind of poise every week the bills will be VERY tough to beat.
  24. agree! i hav ethought all along that BOTH backs would be onthe roste next year because RUNNING BACKS GET HURT and the fact is you need two! today just proves it! travis's cheap contract makes it all the more certain...
  25. awesome...god i wish winter would get here! that is the kind of football i love!
