what a disgrace! time to blow up this p.o.s. and start over. can we please just forfeit the new england gmae now?
-

I'm usually not one to love the flashy guy
jester43 replied to Corp000085's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
personally, i wish he'd just shut up and let his play do his talking for him. it's not like no one will notice if he keeps playing well. -
i get your point, but i think your sample is too small. elway and bradshaw were both horrible when they first started, but you know who looked really good in his first start? gary marangi. but meanwhile, we need to put the best players on the field and try to win some football games. personally, i don't think losman would have turned any corner by now because he looked like total sh--, and was obviously completely frustrated and in over his head. however, taking a step back and WATCHING, now that he has seen some real action, will probably do him a world of good. not many people seem to agree, but i think the benching was the best thing for both the team AND j.p. losman.

JEEZ TOM, YA THINK?! i guess i have to give him credit for having the balls to say it, but at the same time, that comment really pisses me off. i am NOT one of those people who wants TD run out of town on a rail, but on the other hand, considering that this is donohoe's FIFTH year in charge, the talent level across our o-line is absurd! every year it is obvious that our o-line sucks, but every year we do nothing but sign journeymen to start for us. i wish to god ol' whitey could be as creative in getting quality o-linemen on our roster as was in getting bledsoe and mcgahee. then we might win a few games OTHER than the ones in which we play lousy teams at home.

This is Week 7 - think each defensive player
jester43 replied to stevewin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
that is my main beef with this defense. sorry to be so cranky about our favorite team (my title used to be "unabashed homer," but 5 years w/ no playoffs has made me "ornery and pessimistic"), but one of the reasons all this talk of being such an "all-time great defense" has me laughing out loud is that our linebackers can barely get off their blocks! i saw it last year when we were feasting on bad teams and winning with gimmick defenses, and i see it this year. i have to cut crowell some slack because he's so inexperienced, but imo, fletcher is just as bad. he rarely makes tackles anywhere but 3-5 yards from the l.o.s. he never fills a hole and stuffs guys at the line like the linebackers on our 99-00 team did. now THAT was a great front 7, one you go to the superbowl with. these guys? yikes. i don't think we will never win a playoff game with london fletcher as our middle linebacker. -
Should a below .500 team be banned from the
jester43 replied to Tux of Borg's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i agree. sub-.500 teams in the playoffs are a disgrace in any sport, imo. and that is why i hate 4-team divisions. i'd rather see 8-team divisions where you play each team ONCE, and you'd just alternate homefield on a yearly basis. maybe you'd do a home-and-home with one or team in your division per season (different team every year, of course), but that's it. then you'd have four division champs and eight wildcard teams (four in each conference), who would have to play each other for the right to take on the division champs the following week. if they adopted this system, you'd still have an ample number of teams in the playoff chase, but you wouldn't have 8-8 or 7-9 teams making it. also, it would have the added benefit of having division titles actually MEAN something. furthermore, it would set up some nice annual rivalries- imagine if we had a game (some years two!) every season with pitt and cleveland to look forward to, in addition to the rivalries we've come to enjoy already. of course, it will never happen, because it makes too much sense. -
Bills use Sape's Samoan war chants
jester43 replied to granitestatebillsbackers's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i got addicted to all black rugby this past summer when i went to n.z. those guys get themselves so jacked doing that thing it is unbelievable. i watched enough games that i almost got it memorized, but then the final test match against south africa saw the ABs debut a NEW haka, that they wrote themselves. it caused a little controversey because it ended with a THROAT-SLASH gesture by the all blacks toward the south african team. i wish you could have seen it- tana umaga (team captain and full-blood maori) just about had an aneurism leading it. the haka is awesome stuff- so much fun and int'l rugby is such a great game! -

i think you forgot one...what number did that guy wear? was it 34?

how cool would it be if our stud running back would just flip the ball to the ref and jog back to the sideline after a TD like it was his JOB to do that? i know showboating expected in today's NFL, but that was embarrassing. of course, when one of your "team leaders" celebrates getting off the field on third down by doing the friggin lambeau leap vs. miami, you should pretty much expect what we got from mcgahee after that score. i honestly think these guys would do the team a favor by toning it down a little. personally, i think it's totally BADASS to just act like it's just another day at the office when you make big plays. it's like my 2nd favorite coach (after marv)says: winning is an attitude. when you go berserk just because you've done your job, that tells the world that it is UNUSUAL for you to do so...NOT how a would-be playoff team should behave, imo. maybe it is asking too much, but i want this team to carry itself like, "well, yeah, OF COURSE we scored on your asses!" then i'll know we have real leadership, and that these guys truly believe.

i'm really happy for this guy. i had a feeling things would be different for him this year when i went to training camp and he was just crushing the ball during special teams practice. good stuff.

Do you think they will ever catch
jester43 replied to Last Kid Picked's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i wonder if these are the same guys who profiled richard jewell? -
i learned everything i know about grace and humility from you, darin. meanwhile, i especially love how they had to clear all the notre dame fans off the field so that they could score the winning TD. SWEET!

HEEELLLLLL YEEEAAAHHHHH.....TOUCHDOWN USC!!! SUCK IT IRISH!!
-
maybe, but consider that "we want to be the greatest defense ever..." i'm not the one who set the bar up there. although a playoff appearance every 5 years or so would be nice, considering almost 40% of the league makes it every year.

Happy Birthday Jay 'Crash' Rosen!!!
jester43 replied to Dan Gross's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
hey man, happy birthday. hope to see you later this season. -
this team looks dreadful, therefore the discussions are warranted. i am still a huge fan who watches every game, and i realize "anything can happen," but i'm not kidding myself either. we are woefully weak across both lines which means that we're gonna suffer through another autumn full of frustration, and it is more than reasonable to look ahead.

Boomer Essiason thinks the Jets are a
jester43 replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
while i think he is justified in saying the jets are better, based on how schitty we've looked, the real advantage for the jets in that game was playing at home in normal temps. -
remember when mike sheppard was a scapegoat a couple years back? he kicked our asses pretty good as the saints o.c. ...i'm sure he enjoyed that.
