i remember when TD got here and someone posted his drafts from pgh. they were better than what he's done here, but still very underwhelming. i think his drafting prowess is overrated.

oh absolutely not! this roster is comprised of a bunch of aging and and over paid underachievers combined with a bunch of young guys who will never be stars in this league. some of them might become good players, but does anyone think we have a gang of budding pro-bowlers among the group you mentioned? i don't, if for no other reason than the fact that donohow has proven over five years that he cannot build a team through the draft. so until proven otherwise, there is no reason to expect any of the "2.0" guys to be superstars. now that spikes tore his achilles, it's official: NO ONE is untouchable on this roster. not saying you cut all 53 guys and start over, but there is not one position on the roster that the new regime should not be trying to upgrade. except punter. i like our punter.

i guess we'll find out next weekend....anyone know how many seats are left to be sold?

i'll be watching it on center ice. i hope the sabres win 5-3 with stu barnes getting a hat trick for dallas. i can't remember who we got for him (i know it wasn't briere) but that is my 2nd most hated trade in sabre history, behind the gare trade.

i think ottowa has at least 3 games in hand. they are in their own league right now but all the sabres can do is keep winning. i believe they have a game vs. my most hated opponent (philly) in a week or so. should be fun.

now that was a hockey announcer. man i miss that guy. i can still hear is voice coming out of my radio in the 70s <sniff>.

i was almost laughing at briere the first shift he looked so disoriented, but then he started getting into the flow of things and started looking pretty good. i still have to keep pinching myself that this cast of characters keeps winning!

and that is why emphasize that there are worse things that can happen to a person...that is obvious. but i don't hink this is a bad guy- just like i didn't think gregg williams was a bad guy. it's just a shame to see them go down in flames....especially when they run my favorite team!!

well, that too, but i'm just trying to put myself in their shoes for one second. it's gotta hurt- and i don't think these are bad guys either. i have worked with coaches who were disciplined and committed and passionate and professional in every sense of the word, but they were ineffective because they lacked the ability to relate to their athletes. and they suffered the consequesnces. they were deserved, but it is still a shame to see.

yes that was awesome! and the best part was, they credited the goal to GRIER on the deflection...the second time in the game he stole a goal from drury! (my fantasy hockey arch-nemesis has DRURY on his team) anyway, THANK YOU SABRES!

i just listened to it also, and all i can say is wow, that is one sad-sounding dude . i know at least one crazy poster here wants everyone involved with this mess assassinated or at least "punched in the nuts," but to me it's just a really sad day when you know these guys are about to be fired. not that i don't want them replaced, because i've seen enough too. but i have to feel for a guy (TD) who practically works 24/7/365 for 5 years on something, only to have it blow up in his face like this. that's kinda harsh if you think about it, you know? how many of us have ever taken on a task that required that kind of TOTAL commitment and have it fall to pieces like the bills have this season? i realize there are worse things that can happen to a person, but this has to be very tough to take. and that is why i believe him 100% when he says "it hurts us worse than it hurts the fans." hell, if it doesn't, there's something wrong with both us and them!

i don't think jimmy johnson is coming to buffalo.

i don't think his drafting decisions have been anything to write home about, either.
