19,000 Titans vs Bills Tickets left
jester43 replied to Hammered a Lot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
count me in that category..sort of...except it is my FIRST xmas with the new in-laws. they and the new mrs. always do christmas EVE so i didn't even entertain the notion... -
ron/kenny if you are reading this, i want you to know you are my 7 year old stepdaughter's new hero... she laughed her head off at the sight of you with all that ketchup and mustard all over you, and now i think she's a bills fan for life! we were driving around running errands today and she wanted to know if we could listen to the bills on my sirius....it was my solemn duty to inform her she'd have to wait until sunday. which would make you my hero too!

The "Move the Bills to the AFC North" debate
jester43 replied to Ned Flanders's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i have already proposed a solution to this problem. COMBINE the divisions and have four eight-team divisions in the nfl. you play every team in the division ONCE a year, like in college. there could, however, be a single home and home series per year that rotates around your division, so that one year, for example, we'd play the fish twice, then the next year, the steelers, then the pats....etc. our divison would consist of the afc east and north. that would be a fun division. so that takes care of 8 games out of your schedule. the other 8 can be split: four in the other division (the afc "southwest," for lack of a better term). and the other four in the nfc. there are some huge advantages to this: 1. with only two division champs and four wild cards, you all but eliminate the chance of 8-8 or 9-7 getting in, as sometimes happens in the weak-ass 8 division set-up we have now. the current system sucks as 10-6 teams have been known to miss the playoffs while some crap team gets in by virtue of being 8-8 or 9-7 in a terrible four-team divison. i freeeeeking hate that the nfl allows this. 2. you WOULD cultivate some new rivalries, which i also think would be great for the bills and their fans. i'm pretty sure joey balls is a troll, but i also would love to have a steeler and browns game to look forward to each year. but this fish IS a reakl rivalry and i would hate to lose it. and besides, imagine the excitement surrounding the fish or jets game if you know you're only getting your mitts obn them once a year, and only get them in your house every two seasons (unless of course, it was your "home-and-home" year with them). i'm pretty sure if this system existed, we'd not be worrying about the blackout this weekend. -

cmon! he was AWFUL that season! the word was out...just keep #7 in the pocket and the bills offense is non-existent! i know he wasn't the son of satan as some have portrayed him, but god, please don't defend his play that season. he sucked! -

face it, we had two bad QBs fighting it out that season. RJ did what he had to do that day. the game was lost by one really bad special teams play, as any close game could be. it still hurts doesn't it? i remember watching the game in my girlfriends apartment that day...she had just acompanied me to the famous "rob johnson game" the week before. we had met john butler after the game, and suddenly, after one trip to orchard park, she was an addicted bills fan. when the kick went throught the uprights she was running around the house yelling..."WHO'S NEXT?!" i said witha smirk on my face, "now hoooooold on a minute lassie, we still gotta cover this kick!" -
now cmon...you're a smart guy...why are you trying to make an issue out of NOTHING?

that list is !@#$ed. everyone knows the best movie coach was craig t. nelson in ALL THE RIGHT MOVES. he was spectacular as the consummate self-important know-it-all DICKHEAD high school football coach. tom cruise's finest moment as an actor was when he was running down the street in that film yelling to craig t. nelson..."YOU'RE NOT GOD!....YOU'RE JUST A TYPING TEACHER!!" so perfect and so true. i love football, but some of these guys need to take a look in the mirror. craig t. nelson was every a-hole coach i've ever known in that movie.

personal bias because i was there that day, but the day we ended shula's career was a top-fiver for me. particularly since you can't call a 4 straight SBs a "moment," or probably not an "event" either. but whatever. -
so what you're saying is that we're !@#$ed either way...

i think you have a point there. although AJ Smith has a helluva track record too, if you look back.

YES. because if we use the cap space to improve the other positions, especially in the interior DL, then he's ok as a fly-all-over-hell tackle machine. but i see people here talking about him like he's dick butkus, which is a joke. i mean, HONESTLY, when have the bills had a really stout rush defense when he was here? the only time they LOOKED like they might be threatening to turn good, the steelers humiliated them with their scrubs 2 years ago. so yeah, let's re-sign london for what he's worth, but let's not do anything stupid. i have sen people calling for marv to franchise him, which is laughable.

wasn't that the pick they used on fred taylor?

AND IT IS A CRAPPY DEFENSE! honestly, this "man of the year" crap is really realy nice, but i am sick of seeing our mlb knocked 3 yards backward time and time again on dive plays. there was a play in the 2nd quarter of the jets game where helooked like a superball bouncing off the frikkin pile. good grief marv, i know london's a great guy and all, but let's not break the bank for him...HE'S NOT THAT GOOD!

last year when i live 300 miles away and tended to be off on weekends in december, i would not have missed this one. this year i am 900 miles away and just can't pull it off. it sucks, because i too have been captivated by the post-bye rally and would love nothing more than to be there this weekend. i will get to watch it no matter what. but it breaks my heart we can't sell out. the only thing i can figure is that, in a given year, 95% of all the seats that will be sold in a season will go before thanksgivning. and this year, the bills SUCKED before thanksgiving (let's be honest) so the damage was done long ago. so i gotta think that if there would have been some more HOPE before the season was essentially over, these games would already have sold out.

damn right...media attention is the kiss of death anyway....remember how just one week ago everyone annointed man-GINA the Next Great Coaching Genius. and then on sunday, jauron made him look stupid. at some point, the attention is inevitable if you're doing well, and then you just have to deal with it. but in the meantime, let's enjoy NOT being the subject of too much hype. at 6-7, and still hemorraging up the middle on defense, we don't deserve it anyway.
