The two draft philosophies are need or best player available, both are valid. If an exceptional talent is available at a position not necessarily a need I think you have to take him, however all things being relatively equal you draft for need. The biggest mistakes are trading up either because of panic or falling in love with a player. Panic brought us J P Losman.
