  1. We agree sort of, but unless they purposely broke Payton's neck it was absolutely thrust upon them.
  2. I agree with you, but there are a lot of people on his site wishing for a total tank. I don't understand why, I can't think of any instances of that strategy working in the NFL. So I asked the question. As for McBeane I'm still on the fence, these guys aren't Belichick.
  3. I guess, but didn't the Jets under Rex with Sanchez go to two straight AFC championship games? Do you really want to use that as a gage of success? And with Manning hurt did the Colts have much of a choice? The tank was kind of forced on them. I still can't come up with one example of a team planning and executing a tank and having it result in any kind of long term success.
  4. I can't open the link, but what has having Andrew Luck done for them? They haven't won anything. And at times have been pretty bad.
  5. This is a serious question, I can't think of an example of an NFL franchise tanking where it worked?
  6. So then QB not really important? It's all about the coach. Or is it all about accumulating draft picks? I guess if Taylor isn't the guy no need to waste an early pick on a QB, just load up on WR and CB. Easy to find a QB in the late rounds.
  7. You seriously think that the Patriots success happens with or without Brady?
  8. Here is what I was responding to:"What if I told you there are talented players with high character? Not everyone is Sammy Watkins complaining to local media about his targets and claiming his draft class will change salaries around the league. Maybe McDermott doesn't like players that care more about their targets and their money than winning." His premise is don't bother with guys that have character issues. Randy Moss was pretty much a prima donna. So by Happy's logic he would pass on Moss. Not comparing football skills but personalities.
  9. For how many more years is this going to be thrown out here?
  10. Trade a second and third round pick for one.
  11. So by that logic no need for a franchise QB.
  12. No, they have Brady and they sign a couple of talented players away from the Bills. So they not only have their draft picks but also have the Bills.
  13. But Belichick saw the need for Moss are you saying McDermott is a smarter coach than Belichick?
  14. You're not paying attention football has nothing to do with talent.
  15. I wasn't making a comparison, you didn't read the post I was responding too.
  16. By that logic if Randy Moss were in his prime and available the right move would be to pass?
  17. Apparently a team devoid of talent is the plan. McDermott: "we're building a team not accumulating talent"
  18. With any luck they will use all those draft picks on a bunch of water bug backs.
  19. I'm going to repeat this, part of the Patriots model is signing players away from the Bills. Furthermore when you have the greatest player in he game, possibly of all time, you can get away with some mediocre players. Let me know when the Bills have a player that is in the same class as Brady, because it is unlikely that will ever happen if you trade or let good players walk.
  20. And they can use that pick on WR, that's genius.
  21. I don't know if you noticed but the Patriots keep singing players the Bills let walk. Bills let Gilmore walk, have to draft White as replacement, on and on and on, that's the plan.
  22. Let me translate. "If Sammy had a bad year we weren't going to sign him. If Sammy had a great year we weren't going to pay him. Rookies are cheaper so we are going to trade players or let them walk and just have constant turn over." "EJ Gaines is short, but if you kind of squint he looks taller."
