At this time last year the plan was to hope they got their guy in the draft and then let him sit for a year behind Peterman and McCarron. What an awful plan.
Nice, the weirdest part is the Bills taking Ridley over Edmunds. Couldn’t they have done that had they wanted too? They obviously had Edmunds higher on their board.
This topic is really odd, upon reading the title I assumed there must be another Mike Quick. Surely this couldn’t be about a somewhat obscure Eagles WR, but I was wrong.
After enjoying a lovely dinner I settle into a comfortable chair with a glass of wine to watch the draft. With any luck I’ll stay awake for the whole thing.
I agree, last year’s FA was nothing, I’m not even sure anyone from last year’s FA class even makes the team. Who’s left? Going into the draft they have a great deal of flexibility.
I guess Lotulelei and Murphy will stay, maybe Bodine, but not a lock.
I think that is how it seems to be playing out this year, remember this is the first year that Beane and McDermott are not in salary cap hell. I believe the philosophy is if an opportunity to get better arises, they are going to pursue it. Remember, they took a pretty good run at Antonio Brown.
I agree with all that, but drafting 10 guys when most of those picks are late round picks is not prudent. Those six and seven rounders are not going to be significantly better than undrafted free agents. Those picks are more valuable used as capital to move back into rounds two and three.
DT, OT, TE, RB, LB, WR
I believe and I’ve said it before the road to anywhere goes through Tom Brady and I would personally like to see a big fast DT go through him.
I don’t think there is a chance in hell that they draft 10 guys. At some point they will package picks to move up for someone they like. All mocks are speculation, they rarely go as expected, and after the top ten it really becomes difficult to predict.
