  1. Which one? Right or left? Oh you were talking about the football not the wager, never mind.
  2. I just read elsewhere that cutting Ivory frees up $2m in cap space.
  3. I haven’t read every post so I apologize if this has already been written. One of the most important acquisitions the great Bills teams of the early 1990s made was James Lofton at age 33. If Jones can be acquired I’m in favor, he would be a great help to a young QB and young WRs.
  4. May be able to get a jump on rebuilding OL in free agency. That could change draft scenario.
  5. There are like ten guys I’ll be okay with. Hopefully next week will help narrow it down.
  6. Last summer we spent a few days at the Marriott Harbor Center, it was the first time I had spent any time downtown since the late 1970s. What has been done in that area is impressive and it was fun. Downtown is much better than it has been in decades, that being said it still has away to go. The Seneca Tower is still a monument to drab architecture. My wife is not from Buffalo, she thought Allentown was cool and vibrant. We took a drive north on Delaware Avenue and it’s surrouding streets, still really nice. Buffalo weather is what it is, but there are a number of NFL cities that aren’t much better.
  7. I lived in NYC in the 70s and 80s. I used to root for the Giants, but that ended with Super Bowl XXV. Unless of course they are playing the Patriots.
  8. Read an article yesterday, can’t remember where, but the gist of it was that the Cardinals should not be afraid to move on from Rosen. He apparently doesn’t fit new coach’s scheme.
  9. I’m about to state the obvious, what happens in free agency is the first thing that effects draft scenarios. The next is how the draft falls. Both of those things are huge unknowns. If they pick up a couple of offensive linemen in free agency and the best player available if an offense lineman do they take him? Do they trade out? Is there a willing trading partner? It is complicated, that’s why the prognosticators are so often wrong. It is also what makes it fun.
  10. Heffernan is my last name, when the King of Queens was still running, on more than one occasion I had people ask me if we were related. Coincidentally Kevin James used to live around the corner from me.
  11. Is Milano’s injury a concern? I know it is a broken leg, but it was ugly.
  12. I had a football signed by all the guys in your first paragraph. I played with until all the autographs were gone.
  13. If the Falcons run the ball three times and kick a field goal they win that SB. If the Seahawks run Lynch from the one yard line they win that SB.
  14. NY Yankees, in particular from the late 1940s to mid 1960s.
  15. “Why is the system so flawed? Some of it has to do with what former NY Giants General Manager George Young called the “guard your desk mentality.” Young believed that most NFL executives never want to hire the most qualified person, they want someone who’s easy to get along with and who has minimal coaching experience, which won’t allow them to threaten the General Manager’s authority.” The quote is from an article in the Athletic written by Mike Lombardi entitled “Stop trying to find the next Sean McVay: Why the NFL hiring system is so flawed”. I’ve always believed that was is described above is exactly what Tom Donahoe did with both his hires. The article talks a lot about Colts and Frank Reich hire, good read.
  16. What happened in AZ? I really thought when he retired he’d decided he was done, with coaching. I sort of got the Cleveland thing, but the Bucs?
  17. That game was painful Bortles killing them with his legs and Bills complete lack of offense, just brutal. It makes Allen’s season that much more encouraging, a rookie and with less of supporting consistently produced more offense.
