You missed a good game.
-
I had just graduated from college, was moving to NYC. My father gave me the tickets. I met a girl at Mulligans on Hertel thought I’d impress her by taking her to that game. We had a great time, but like I said I was moving, never saw her again That missed 47 yard field goal at the end happened after midnight, so it was 9/17, George Blanda’s 47th birthday.

I was at that game, sitting in that same end zone.

Now now, there is no reason to go there. There is another thread for bashing the Jets. -

I might be an outlier here...... Draft needs

So the OP states his opinion, then says “Okay…….. let me have it.” Then when people let him have it he bristles, “Guys…….Chill!”. He then goes on to accusing other posters of being “dense”and stupid “Would rather chat with fans with more than one brain cell….” . -
Would have been a good nickname. Dufek an UDF from Yale replaced Joe Ferguson in 1984.
-
And Joe Dufek Ralph took a chance on Buffalo only after a deal to have his franchise in Miami feel through.

Wasn’t Sammy Baugh their first coach? They were pretty instrumental in the survival of the AFL. First owner didn’t have any money, seems like the only guys in the “Foolish Club” that actually had money were Hunt, Adams and Wilson. Sonny Werblin saved the franchise. Drafting and signing Joe Namath was a big deal and a big f$$k you to the arrogant pricks of the NFL. And winning Super Bowl III was huge. They have had bad ownership ever since, remember what that’s like? As much as I respect Ralph Wilson and what he did for the AFL and the NFL, he was a meddling owner. We are lucky to have the Pegulas.

New Bills stadium deal is bad for taxpayers, according to Yahoo!

You’re right Erie County owns current stadium but is transferring ownership to the State. I will edit. -

New York State will be the landlord and receive rent. As a former restaurateur I believe I am qualified to explain the flaw in the argument. When opening a restaurant you can buy real estate or lease retail space. Most restaurants lease space. The build out can be done by the landlord, but that cost will be reflected in the rent. Or the restaurateur can pay for it out of pocket. In either case the capital improvements become the property of the landlord. In the case of the stadium the capital improvements paid for by the Pegulas becomes the property of the state. Businesses both large and small are regularly given government assistance. That assistance can be in the form of a loan or a tax abatement. The SBA exists to assist small businesses. Some municipalities have been known to provide zero interest loans to help small businesses that they feel will help gentrify a neighborhood. Large businesses get help all the time, for example when the Grand Hyatt at Grand Central Station was built, the developer received a 40 year $400 million tax abatement on the property. -

There is not another professional sports franchise that is as important to a community than the Buffalo Bills. This guy tries to make the point that threatening to move the Bills is an insult to the great fans that have braved the elements to support the team. The fact that the fans are as loyal as they are is exactly why the Bills must stay. Others have made the economic argument, I’m making an emotional one. Every purchase is an emotional decision justified by logic. Go Bills! -
Never been to either of those places, don’t golf, haven’t seen a Fire Ant in decades. In thirty years we have taken a direct hit from one hurricane, it caused some landscaping damage. There are a couple of days a year that I need a sweater. I walk the beach pretty much every morning. By all means stay where you are.

Naples is a Palm Beach wannabe, that being said they are both pretentious. Boca is a bit of a has been, but that said the downtown area has gotten better. The rest of southern Palm Beach County is great. Delray Beach has one of the nicest beaches in Florida, downtown is fun and full of great restaurants. At its heart it is still a surf town. Miami Beach has big beautiful beaches a lot of night life. I’ve sailed the length of Biscayne Bay it is spectacular. “Price is an issue only in the absence of value”. I run into Bills fans constantly, by the way the best owners in the NFL live in Boca Raton.

Except for a playoff game against another team with an “unstoppable” offense. -

I think they wait until after the draft to sign a vet CB. Why not see how the draft falls? I also think they go the route of Mercedes Benz Stadium, cheap beer, cheep food, get people in the building. I know most will still tailgate, but even if you get some people in the building it’s better than nothing. -
This pick is going to be interesting. I’m not even sure what it will tell us. They really could just go best player available. I voted for Williams because I think if he is there you can’t pass on him, but I have no idea. I’ve been right in the past, but that’s when we were perpetually drafting in top ten. I’m not so smart now. I’m going to definitively say no QB and no kicker at 25, there I said it.

I think you are right, but there could be more to it. They may not like any of the vet corners available, or they think the price is too high. Time is on the Bills side, the longer these guys are on the market the more the price drops. I doubt they sign a CB before the draft. That first round pick is going to be interesting.
