  1. Ok I'll play along. The only one is Jabari Greer, because he would still be with the team and I think he is better than McKelvin. Levetrie would have cost too much. Peters injured too much. Poz not goog enough Winfield and Clemens would not have helped badly coached awful teams.
  2. His head was not in it last year, understandably so. He made a comment after a loss last year that it is just a game. I think he was being more philosophical than anyone thought. I hope he has delt with his grief. Not just for the sake of football.
  3. This from "Kolb set for different QB competition" by Chris Brown. Does that quote sound like he knows his role? "So what about the perception that EJ Manuel is the long term answer for the franchise at the quarterback position?" “I don’t buy what’s being sold I guess,” said Kolb. “I just listen to what they tell me to do and roll on with it. I have a lot of confidence in my abilities and this offense and hopefully what I can do in it.” Sorry paste didn't work Kolb quote " I guess I don't buy what is being sold"
  4. I can envision a scenario where the Bills have a rookie QB and two rookie WR.
  5. And don't forget, Spiller gets winded. WR and CB make me nervous. Graham and Rogers were awful last year.
  6. I can't really disagree. The fact that there was no back up plan if Fitz was not the answer is mind boggling. Your right about Kolb, the trouble with Kolb is he doesn't know what his role is. He thinks he has a shot at being the long term solution to the Bills QB problem. I don't think he will be either the long or short term solution. I am baffled as to why people think Kolb is anything more than a back up. Build an offense around EJ's skill set. They drafted him to play so play him. Give him as much help as possible.
  7. As of right now if Stevie plays in the slot, are Woods and Graham on the outside?
  8. His analysis begs the question why not just start EJ Manuel.
  9. I know, I think 13 is too high not too low. No one, 13 is too high.
  10. Kirwan lost me with the last section "Something to Prove". He thinks its a sep backward to lose an experienced GM, does he know that all of Buddy Nix GM experience came on his three years at Buffalo? Chan Is a loss? He was an OC not a head coach, by his own admission he didn't pay attention to the defense. Fitz forced the Bills hand so he could find a better situation. He knew his days as a starter with the Bills were numbered at best. He couldn't stay. I don't think Kolb will start but I think the Bills are better of with Kolb as a back up than Fitz. Fitz's presents could have created controversy.
  11. Except that Kolb said "I don't buy what's being sold I guess". This was his response to EJ being viewed as the long term answer..
  12. I obviously agree with you. The only scenario where I see them keeping Smith is if EJ wins, the rookie WRs aren't quite ready and they feel they need a veteran that can help a rookie QB.
  13. I hope you are right. Watching the Bills D has been painful for years. Nothing ever worked. I hated the Tampa two, was glad to see it go but the D actually got worse. Watching Kelsey play LB brought tears to my eyes. I have to admit to drinking the Wannstedt Kool Aid last year. The season openner cured that. All I know about Alonso is watching highlights and what I've read. Never heard of Lawson before the Bills signed him. Didn't know anything about Hughes either, other than he was considered a bust.I hope these guys can play and I hope Pettine can coach. I am sick of watching crappy defense.
  14. Really funny and sadly true. A good friend and college roommate was from Ballston Spa. I was in his wedding, reception was at The Knights of Columbus. His family owned a restaurant named Sam's. Funny, I was just thinking the same thing about him being under utilized on those bad teams as a blessing.
  15. I certainly do not hate Brad Smith. I don't know him. I think he works hard after all he has been in the league for seven years.. That being said I think the Bills over paid him. He is not an NFL QB. He is not even much of a threat as a wild cat QB, because he cannot throw. Yes he had success running for three yards for a first down but your RB should be able to do that. This coaching staff has no intention of running the wild cat, so his QB days are over. He is a good ST player and at WR he is at best a depth player. He turns thirty this year. Do you pay him $4M to be a ST player and a back up WR? You know what you have with Brad, do you want him taking up a roster spot at the expense of one of the young guys with potential?
  16. Could someone more talented the please doctor up their logo.
  17. Are there any pictures of Manuel? With his Bills helmet not FSU. The NFL is a completely different game.
  18. I don't think he is taking a professional stance. He intimates that at either Philly or Arizona he was not given a fair shot. What I think is absurd is the statement that the Bills don't view Manuel as the future. I think that Philly's signing of Vick was in and of itself an indication of the concern that staff had for Kolb. He was a second round pick, he had been there for a couple of years. So the coaches knew him. He had been named the heir apparent. Yet he loses his job because of injury and is subsequently traded. The strike would have given them more time to look at film. The coaches weren't on strike. Kolb lost his job in Philly, he was on the team for a few years. They drafted him to be the QB of the future not as trade bait. Yet he doesn't believe that the Bills drafted E.J. as the QB of the future? It's a dumb think to say.
