I don't know if Freeman is good or bad. I haven't really paid enough attention to him. I do know that neither Freeman nor anybody else off the street was going to be much help in the short run. Zero knowledge of the playbook is a problem.
I kept wondering about Lewis. At this point he has to be a better option than someone with no knowledge of the offense or a rookie free agent., at least for the next couple of games.
This is pure conjecture, but if they didn't sign someone, EJ is going to be back sooner rather than later.
Phil Simms, first four years, separated shoulder, torn knee ligament and compound fracture of thumb on his throwing hand.
Phil Simms, two time Pro Bowl selection, two Super Bowl rings and Super Bowl MVP.
I think Moorman got cut because DeHaven wanted the punter to punt directionally. Moorman was struggling with that, as was Powell, but if you factor in Moorman's age and contract, he was gone.
Based on absolute nothing I am predicting Manuel's return for the KC game. They need to win one of the next three games. If they can do it and if EJ is back they could win eight or more.
Going into the season with an undrafted rookie backup was stupid and arrogant. The minute Kolb went on IR they needed to find a veteran. They made a lame attempt but they should have kept trying.
Yes they both put up big numbers, but for two different reasons. Smith did it because our defense was just awful. Flacco did because he had no running game and was playing catch up.
Would Byrd make the D better? Yes of course he would. If it weren't for his contract situation would he be playing with his alleged injury? Probably. Should the Bills pay him? I don't know. I understand teams not wanting to over pay and I understand players resenting being franchised. Difficult situation.
