  1. Before you wright things use Google. EJ Manuel at FSU, "Manuel led the Seminoles to a 12-win season for just the third time in program history and the first time since their dominant stretch in the 1990s. During his senior season, he threw for the second most yards in team history with 3,392, trailing only Chris Weinke's Heisman Trophy winning season, in which Weinke threw for 4,167 yards. Manuel went 25-6 as a starter, won the first BCS bowl for Florida State since 2000, won five out of six games against intrastate rivals Miami and Florida, and he also led the offense to its most prolific season in team history, cleanly surpassing the 1999 National Championship squad with 6,591 yards." Four bowl game wins., 47 TDs, 29 INTs for a rating of 150.4. Boy he stunk!
  2. Then based on your assessment, being a fan of this team and or bothering to come to this web site would be the "anecdotal definition for insanity".
  3. Last year when the Bills were in the market for a new coach, I felt Marrone was the best option. Not another retread, the choice was very un-Bills like. I think he does have to be given time. At this point if I could fault him for something, it would be Hackett. This young team and QB would have been better served with a veteran NFL OC and a QB coach.
  4. I've been saying since preseason that he is aiming the ball. EJ's best drives have been in two minute drill. It is like when he stops thinking and just plays he is at his best.
  5. Marrone made a big mistake not bringing in an OC with NFL experience. Not only that but no QB coach is just dumb. The play calling was awful and predictable.
  6. I agree, the over reaction on this site was however predictable.
  7. I make this response with a great deal of trepidation, but from your statement it would appear that you have an issue with both Christians and African Americans. The suggestion that the measure of an individual is based on their religious beliefs or the color of their skin is alarming.
  8. Tuel is not an NFL QB, arm not strong enough and not accurate. I still expect him to get cut. Going into the season with Tuel as the backup was a mistake. They needed a veteran that knew his role. Mentor Manuel and be able to win a couple of games if needed. Thirty years? You don't remember Willie Totten or Billy Joe Holbert for starters.
  9. I believe if you watch the "implosion" what you would see is, if I remember correctly, an interception on a tipped ball, an int that Manuel threw right to the guy, an int that the receiver quit on the rout defender did not, a fumble on Manuel and a fumble that in the NFL would have been a penalty and probably a fine on the defender. The FSU defense stunk in that game.
  10. I get that you don't like Manuel. The difference between you and I are that I watched most of his games. As I stated I live in Florida, I know many FSU Alumni and run into a lot more. This was not a survey of one. If they are football fans I always ask about EJ, the worst I have ever heard is "inconsistent". I never asked about is draft position, because I don't care. I want to know do they think he can play. The fan I referred to in the previous post spent a good deal of time talking football with me. It is why I singled out his comments, he was knowledgeable, not just a casual fan. So which part of my post do you disagree with? That FSU was in a rebuilding faze after Bowden retired? That Manuel's supporting cast was not as good as Winston's? Be specific here, how do the o line, receivers and backs compare? Is it that the offense is complicated? Please feel free to expound. Or is that i just didn't take a large enough survey for you? If it is the latter then I propose that four and a half games is not enough to judge Manuel's competence in the NFL. As to Manuel's college career. His record was 25-6. He was only the second player in college history to win four consecutive bowl games. Led FSU to a 12 win season for the third time in team history. Completed 66.9% of his passes, 47 TDs, 28 INTs, rating of 150.4. Just what exactly about that is lacking? Was it the two losses in his senior year? If you had watched them you would know that he had a bad game against Florida but the NC State game was Fisher's fault. I firmly believe this, if Manuel was in the game yesterday, he hits A wide open Johnson for a TD and does not throe a pick six to Smith.
  11. Game was in Miami and it was Mularkey not Williams. One of the dumbest calls ever.
  12. Ok I'm going to do this again. I posted in another thread today. I live in Florida. Yesterday I was with a number of FSU Alumni, one of whom was a knowledgeable football fan. When I asked about Manuel vs Winston. He said EJ was in a program at FSU that was in a rebuilding faze, he never had the supporting cast that Winston has. Winston, according to him has a much better o line than EJ ever had, his receivers are much better and all three FSU running backs could play in the NFL. He agreed with the premiss that the FSU offense is more complicated than people think and that some of the things EJ was blamed for were because his receivers were young and inexperienced.
  13. I heard Dierdorf say the same thing. You're right he was probably talking to players and coaches.

  15. I respect your opinion. There are a number of posters whose opinions are worthless. You are not one of them. Four and a half games tells us nothing about EJ Manual other than he is a rookie, being coached by a rookie HC with a rookie OC with a two and four reviver that are rookies.
  16. If EJ and Thad are good to go next week Tuel is in the street.
  17. Thank you, I just don't understand labeling Manual in any way after four and a half games.
  18. Yesterday I had a conversation with a knowledgeable FSU fan and Alumnus. He said that at FSU Manuel was a QB for a rebuilding program. He never had the supporting cast that Winston has. O line wasn't as good backs and receivers that Manuel had weren't close to what FSU has now. He agreed with the premiss that the FSU offense is more complicated than people think. He also said that the one flaw in EJ's game is what got him injured, he'll try for that extra yard instead of getting out of bounds. He said he has become a Bills fan because of EJ. As far as Winston is concerned he said he thinks if he were eligible for this years draft, he would be the number one pick.
