THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Receivers are a Dime a Dozen
chris heff replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
Speaking of dime a dozen Quitez Cephus is gone already. -
Am I the only one that found this weird? Josh portraying a homeless guy to announce schedule? I’ve never watched Parks and Rec, maybe that’s why I don’t get it.

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Receivers are a Dime a Dozen
chris heff replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
You have to pick somebody, once a few QBs are taken what’s next? Depends on the talent that year. -
The thing that I don’t understand is, after Corey Stringer died of heat exhaustion the league put in all kinds of rules to protect players. Then they allow the Dolphins to broil their opponents. There should be shade and AC on both sides of that field. I’ve been to games there in November sitting in the sun and thought I was going to pass out and all I’m doing is sitting there.
-
It will still be disgustingly hot and humid down here, but it takes shady side vs sunny side out of the equation.

Just asked me to login for the first time in years, but I did get in.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling meeting with the Bills (UPDATE: Signed)
chris heff replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bills WRs were mediocre from about the middle of the 2022 season, including Diggs. I’ve said this before, there were games that I wondered out loud if we actually had any WRs. Watching on television makes it impossible to see what is going on down field, WRs seemed to disappear. That group needed to be blown up. Now there are some young guys, some vets, some guys that were in bad situations on bad teams. Who knows who might become available over the summer. Let’s relax and see what happens. -
His father is Tony Eason, no, not that one, the other Tony Eason.
-
And he is smart
-
Thanks for clarifying, never saw Ray Davis called “Ray Ray” anywhere.
-
“The thing that Diggs does best”, the verb is wrong, it should be did not does. Diggs route running starting in about he middle of 2022 seasons became very suspect.
-
I know this thread is not about this, but Diggs has now forced a trade by two teams. Why did he want out of both Minnesota and Buffalo? Whatever the answer to that question is, it does not make Diggs a good teammate.

It became evident towards the end of 2022 season that something was wrong with the offense. A lot of people blamed Dorsey, he deserves some blame, but not all. There were times, watching games that I thought we had no WRs. It’s why they felt he need to bring back Beasley and Brown. The defense under Frazier only played well with a lead, no lead, no defense. They looked bad against Bengals twice. This team needed change. Other than that stretch at the end they were not good last season. They lost to the Patriots, who were bad. I’m looking forward to this season, they needed retooling.

People keep discounting Samuel, here are the QBs he has played with, Cam Newton at the end of his career, Kyle Allen, Teddy Bridgewater, Taylor Heinicke and Sam Howell. Do you think he might be better playing with Josh Allen?

This Will Be The Make Or Break Year For This Regime
chris heff replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall
Relax -
For the last two seasons both Diggs and Davis were invisible for long stretches. Maybe you can blame some of that on Dorsey, but not all. By the second half of last season two top receivers were Shakir and Kincaid. Shakir had 39 receptions for 611 yards, Diggs had 107 receptions for 1,183 yards. Shakir caught 39 out of 45 targets, catch percentage was 86.7% highest in the league and yes I went to Wikipedia, that’s what it’s for. Throw the ball to Shakir over 100 times and see how he does.

What are your draft plans? (Menu, setting, etc)
chris heff replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
You forgot the side of angioplasty. I have dinner, I don’t care what, because I’m too nervous. I just want to watch in peace. I will not accept invitations to do anything, and I will not give an explanation for said declinations. I will be in constant communication with family (other devout Bills fans). -
Which is why you take two early, it increases the odds.
-
Or they take two for insurance, increase the odds of one being special.
-
I have no idea.
-
It does depend how the board looks, they could take Mitchell at 28 and if McConkey falls move up for him. Somebody always falls, it’s going to be interesting.
-
I do want to win now and if a trade happens for Jefferson I’ll be delighted. I’m just not sure that with a draft class as deep at WR that a trade is necessary. Manning with Harrison and Wayne only won one Superbowl, would I take one win? Sure. Young, Montana and Rice couldn’t happen in today’s NFL, salary cap didn’t start until 1994 and there was Plan B free agency. I think Brady made Edelman and Welker great. Joe Ferguson had OJ Simpson, JD Hill, Ahmad Rashad and Bob Chandler and never won anything. Josh Allen is elite, he needs solid skill players. That run at the end of last season was not because of a superstar WR. The production came from Shakir, Kincaid and Cook. Curtis Samuel is an interesting pick up, with an interesting skill set, he has played on bad teams with bad QBs. Get Josh another weapon or two, whether that be through trade or draft and they will win now.
-
Other than Randy Moss, did Brady ever have a superstar receiver? Mahomes won last two Superbowls with no superstar receiver. Draft is a crapshoot, which is why I’d take two WR. I’ve been a fan since 1963, not many have suffered longer. That’s another reason to double down on WRs in this draft.
-
And it’s not like they have nothing at skill positions, second half of last season production came from Shakir, Kincaid and Cook.
-
Kind of where I’m at.
