  1. I find it ironic that some people label EJ as an injury prone bust and the extol the virtues of Smith, Bradford and Stafford. Wasn't Smith considered a bust after four years? Isn't Bradford considered a bust by many? Wasn't Stafford injured a lot?
  2. I thought it was named by French fur trappers "Beau Fleuve" meaning beautiful river.
  3. You forgot how Buffalo got its name.
  4. The City of Buffalo NY is in Western NY, not upstate NY. The name Buffalo has nothing to do with the American Bison. William Cody is said to have killed approximately 5000 American Bison, while a staggering number, hardly enough to have almost caused extinction.
  5. Didn't they just sign Miles Austin and a couple of other guys?
  6. Sorry can't help myself, in 1967 Bills played Lions in Detroit. The Eagles came to the Old Rock Pile. Ditka played for the Eagles in 1967.
  7. Ditka never played for the Lions. Other than that I agree. Upstart league giving arrogant NFL a run for their money. A whole lot of great players.
  8. To screen or not to screen? That is the question. If a defense is giving you that you do it until they stop you. That's what happened in the Orange Bowl. Remember when Bledsoe couldn't complete the screen? He'd throw it at the receivers feet, just painful.
  9. During Jim Kelly's short career as a color man, an injured player was taken into the locker room, the play by play announced that he was going into be taped up. Kelly laughed and said "that's what you think they do?".
  10. As I said earlier, I've been watching complete games not highlights, it is a different perspective. If Ds were giving them that bubble screen they just keep doing it and not just to Watkins. I don't see why that is a bad thing. He catches everything with his hands away from his body. It is impressive how quickly he turns and gets up to speed after the catch. He has great vision. Couldn't really tell much about his blocking. Defenses had to account for him on every play, opened up things for other guys. With the running back position becoming less important, does anyone think that WRs with running back skills are becoming a trend?
  11. I felt the same way watching that game. I've been watching other complete games on YouTube. So far none have been as impressive as the Orange Bowl, but Watkins very quietly seems to gain over 100 yards consistently.
  12. Those who think this was a bad draft do so because they think the Bills should have used either this year or next years first round pick on a QB. Neither of those things were ever going to happen.
  13. And then Simms had three season ending injuries and regressed to the point that he was benched in favor of Scott Brunner.
  14. No, second, third and fourth. Your contention is that Manuel is injury prone, which by definition would mean more injuries in the future. Phil Simms had three major season ending injuries in four years. All three of those injuries were worse than the two, not three (first and third were the same injury) that Manuel suffered. I lived in NYC at that time, Simms was considered an injury prone bust.
  15. My original response was to Pearl and his position (along with many others) that Manuel is injury prone. Simms was considered injury prone, therefore he is a good example. I'm not extolling Simms virtues, however the fact remains he has two Rings. There are a lot of great QBs without Super Bowl rings. There are a lot of ok QBs with rings. Super Bowl Rings are relivent because that is why they play the games. If you could trade the Bills entire 1990 team and staff for the Giants, which resulted in a Super Bowl win, would you do it? Or would you rather four Super Bowl loses with a HOF QB?
  16. Yes that guy, the injury prone bust, that managed to get two Super Bowl rings and be named Super Bowl MVP.
  17. You conveniently left out the part about the knee injury, the separated shoulder, the compound fracture of thumb on throwing hand and being benched in favor of Scott Brunner.
  18. I've been watching Clemson's games on YouTube, so far I've seen Sammy attempt one pass. It wasn't pretty. Had a guy wide open in the end zone. Put so much air under the ball the DB had time to recover.
