  1. 40-45 rushes and 15-20 passes in this NFL day and age....I kinda doubt it, my friends! To have that kind of split you'd better have a once a decade type of running game and even with our maybe potential, we ain't got it. 60-40 is the most run to pass that I see.
  2. Only problem, my friend, is that it wouldn't take long for the rest of the league to catch on to that dubious tactic...like about first quarter of the first game, and then they'd be playing the run run run and then what?
  3. Umm...one step at a time please!
  4. 1. Buffalo Bills: No team had a greener offensive line last season than the Bills, which had rookies Demetrius Bell at left tackle and Jonathan Scott at left guard. All the Bills did to help the line was sign 33-year-old tackle Cornell Green. The Bills averaged a horrible 16.1 points a game on offense and did nothing to upgrade a quarterback corps filled by Trent Edwards and Ryan Fitzpatrick. The receiving corps lost 82 catches by not re-signing Terrell Owens and Josh Reed. The only replacement was fourth-round choice Marcus Easley, leaving Lee Evans with little around him. Owner Ralph Wilson was willing to pay a high salary for his new coach, and ended up with nice guy Chan Gailey, hardly a headliner. To make things even more challenging, the Bills switched to a 3-4 defense even though they didn't have a legitimate 3-4 outside linebacker or a nose tackle. They drafted nose tackle Torell Troup in the second round and hope that Broncos castoff Andra Davis and seldom-used Aaron Maybin can handle the tough outside linebacking jobs. Making matters worse, the Bills' three division rivals -- the Patriots, Jets and Dolphins -- had three of the best five offseasons. With those odds against them, the Bills won't need luck to be in position to draft either Jake Locker or Andrew Luck next year. Pretty easy to respond to those charges OMI... 1) Cornell green is a fine RT and Bell now is healthy and a year more experienced...and lots of potential! 2) Edwards has shown flairs of being pretty good and in a ground dominated theme, he just may be all right. Also, hey.. Brohm also may be the answer. 3) Owens is a has been and Reed is a 3rd receiver at best while we have several fine young ones to look at. 4) Chan Gailey has been successful wherever he's been. 5) Troup just might be a very fine NG. 6) No sweat with the LB's 7) Pats, Jets, Fish pfffft! We are definitely better than last year!
  5. You know maybe, if the OL jells, Spills gains like 1500 yds. Then how would you feel about the pick?
  6. Speaking of LT, maybe, just maybe, Bell being now in his 3rd yr, one that players sometimes "break out", he'll be a pleasant surprise. Gotta hope, huh?
  7. For all my years following the Bills, loving the Bills, I never had a 2nd favorite team until a couple years ago when I really started likin' those Colts. I followed them and hung on them and rooted for them and really loved them (not like the Bills, of course) until week 16 this year, that is. Talk about a turn off. To make a long story short, I still rooted for the Colts last night, but nothing like I would have if they wouldn't have laid down and quit last month at NY, and then of course against our Bills. IMO Polian and their HC are disgraces to the NFL, and even more so to FANS of the Colts. Not that it means anything now, but if they had won last night fans would look back on this 10 or 20 yrs from now and say, Indy won the Super Bowl in 2010...how nice. But if they had beaten the Jets and then the Bills in the process, which I have no doubt they were very capable of, and then gone on to win the Super Bowl, which maybe....just MAYBE destiny would have allowed given the very different set of circumstances which would have led up to the game, then they would have been history's ONLY ONLY 19-0 team, and then 10 or 20 yrs from now people would have been talking about the 2010 Colts in far more reverent tones as perhaps the greatest team of all times, not just another in a long list of Super Bowl winners. Sadly the disgraceful Colts hierarchy would not allow for the foregoing possibility to have a chance and to me that is a shameful dishonor to the team and it's representation.
  8. I disagree with your e v a l. I see our OL as being "decent" immediately as we have a bunch of fine young and now relatively experienced players, and with any luck and one more acquisition we're 1 yr away from a good one.
  9. I'm having a hard time understanding the Brohm negativity for a guy who really never had much of a chance AFTER and I say AFTER his rookie pre-season. Seems like he did pretty well after that. Want to factually argue about that? Or would you rather just keep spouting intelligent stuff about how "three scrubs flat suck"?
  10. On your analysis on Hardy; hey, the guy never had to learn much about routes in college. The pro system was a tremendous adjustment for which which he had major learning problems which reportedly and obviously negatively effected his abilities. HE SAYS (we'll see) that he's learned, and if he has indeed leaned route running, couple that with 6'5" and 4.49, 40 and we just might be on the something.
  11. I think we have to take into consideration the incredible mismanagement and mis-evaluation of talent in the Jauron regime. It just seemed that they often didn't recognize talent when they had it and then again played guys out of position; a la Maybin.
  12. Denny is a goner....Kelsey is a sub when everyone else is tired!
  13. Gimme a break .....that was 9 years ago, pal! Ever hear of professional growth and maturity?
  14. You got your head up your butt, pal. Do a little recalculating and come back
  15. Schobel? I don't think so. Something about can't teach old dogs new tricks!!
  16. Yeah, except IMO your timeline doesn't hold water with the Bills because I'm thinking that we're only 1 man and good health short of a fine OL. We have very fine Guards, C and RT; also we have experienced backups while the missing link is the LT. Get that guy in the fold and we're ready in 1 year (that is if the NFL has a playing season in 1 year).
  17. I guess they just want to announce them all at once???
  18. I'm thinking there's a good possibility that Schobel is a goner which IMO leaves Maybin as his sink or swim heir apparent and it may be a bad time to dump their next most productive defensive lineman, Kelsey. Not saying he's a thing of beauty, but......
  19. In my admittedly confused opinion, and that's because this year more than any other in recent memory I change my mind just about every day, I think we have the following HIGH priorities: LT LB NG (or just plain DT depending upon whether we go 3-4 or stick with 4-3) then QB - maybe....depending on Brohm WR - but how high depends on opinion of current young studs In conclusion......?????¿¿¿¿¿
  20. I strongly 2nd that motion! I certainly could be wrong, but it seems to me that's his logical, and maybe only, position!
  21. That's a stupid thing to say. You know that we had umpteen injuries along the line this year and precluding that next year we'll have a far superior line. think a little, pal, before you post nonsense.
  22. I remember that game like yesterday and Marky, the biggest problem is that we had a 275lb NG who was a decent pass rusher and was mobile, but a terrible run plugger. He was alright in some situations but NOT against strong run teams!
  23. Yeah, but you gotta think about it, Sig. Why would the conversation of the freedom to make his choices even come up if it wasn't relevant one way or another to the Bills plans. In other words, I'm thinking there's a good chance that Gailey will be cutting at least one of the 2 top guys.
  24. Of course then again Butler very well could pan out at RT and Meredith, who performed excellently at end of season could be the LT precluding the need to draft a LT. Just thinking out loud, kotic.
  25. Great analogy, bkc! Made me laugh, pal.
