Derek Anderson to sign with Bills per Mort
RussellDopeland replied to billieve420's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The term "mentor" quarterback to me is a misnomer. Call them a "confidant", or "sounding board" QB instead. Kelly always appreciated Reich for serving in that manner. Marino said the same thing about Don Strock- Farve praised Jim McMahon for this as well. I think a veteran who knows and understands his role (Anderson) is much more viable in this sense than the shell-shocked Peterman. -
Turnstile Signings & Releases: Why Bother?
RussellDopeland replied to OldTimeAFLGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With all of these "turnstile" signings/releases, it is strangely ironic that these transactions never relate to the actual turnstiles already on the roster, namely the two starting guards. Beane and McDermott's comittment to Ducasse alone reminds me of Al Michaels mocking of the Raiders' "commitment to excellence" slogan- refering to it as the "commitment to excrement". -
Where can I watch football in Paris?

Ne laissez pas les autorites vous surprendre en train de regarder le football americain! -
Composed Thoughts? I think Peterman compares favorably to Drew Brees. Peterman is a pox on humanity! Allen looks terrible; we should've drafted Rosen! Allen is gonna be a superstar! Allen is a fawn in headlights. Edmunds looks lost. Edmunds is the next Wilber Marshall. Benjamin is healthy and should have a breakout game this week. Benjamin is fat, lazy, and with hands of stone! Vonate Davis is an upgrade over EJ Gaines. Burn in hell, Vontae Davis!! McDermott is the coach who ended the drought- he's the perfect elixir for the franchise. FIRE MCDERMOTT!!! Mahomes...blah, blah, blah....Mahomes....blah, blah, blah.....

I have always detested the blue pants. It reminds me too much of my childhood, watching the likes of Ferragamo and Mathison quarterbacking this team.

Josh Allen: A fawn in headlights

"Toe-to-toe with the Patriots through the air". Okay....we know you're on a crusade here, but....REALLY?! By going "toe-to-toe" with the Pats, Chan's prolific offense managed to lose to NE by such margins as 34-3 (2010), 49-21 (2011), 52-28 (2012). Yes, there was that the win at home in 2011; but overall Gailey was 1-5 against NE, and the Bills never exceeded 372 points in any of his three years as coach, whereas the Patriots exceeded 500 points each of those three years. And for reference- the Bills scored overall 300 points in 2013-14 (post-Gailey), under arguably the worst offensive coordinator in franchise history (Nate Hackett). Oh...and Chan's "worse group" consisted of the likes of Stevie Johnson, David Nelson, Donald Jones, Naman Roosevelt, Scott Chandler and two great receiving backs (Fred Jackson, Spiller), with linemen such as Eric Wood, Andy Levitre, Kraig Urbik, Cordy Glenn, Eric Pears, Incognito, Chad Rhinehart. And you consider that group worse? Oh well......back to your crusade! -
Q: for the outraged:

So the second-year coach who guided this team to a playoff berth in his first season, its first such appearance since the Clinton Administration, is in your view NOT the correct coach to lead this team? -

Give it time- Fitzpatrick will turn back into that pumpkin, just like he always does. And I don't want any of Chan's regurgitated bile anywhere near this rookie QB. It's bad enough we have 'teats on a bull' Peterman around him.

Restaurants on Gamedays

MIGHTY TACO? He said that he will be driving back to Maryland after the game. A meal at Mighty Taco will result in having to stop at every Sheetz in PA to use the facilities, because he and his friends will be suffering from "the sheetz". -

Your phone rings, it's Terry Pegula....
RussellDopeland replied to pi2000's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cut Jason Croom. Have Terry give his daughter my cell number. Order the end zones painted red. Have the "Billy the Buffalo" mascot cut up, burned, the ashes buried, and the grave covered in salt so nothing can ever grow there again. Trade Peterman to the Rams for an autographed Ray Malavasi picture and two tickets to an upcoming Lakers game. Send the A-team to the psychiatric hospital to break Incognito out and have him returned to Orchard Park asap. -

Please tell me there's a John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt out there who plays guard. -
1. Edmunds 2. Allen made it through the game without injury. 3. No one died 4. The Bills made it out of Baltimore, the venereal disease capital of the US, without incident (we hope). 5. And with a franchise known for four straight Super Bowl defeats, and its greatest player being suspected of double homicide...Peterman isn't necessarily the worst thing in Bills history.
