"Rondell Bothroyd wasn't among those selected in the 2024 NFL Draft, but the 6-foot-3, 273-pounder out of Manchester, Connecticut, will have an opportunity not too far from his hometown to begin his NFL journey. Bothroyd agreed to sign with the Buffalo Bills late Saturday night after the completion of the seventh round."

Xavier Worthy injured during 1st practice as a Chief

Worthy apparently lost a little speed over the night... https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/40158338/chiefs-receiver-xavier-worthy-car-stolen-source-says -
NFL Ref John Parry joins NFL team (Update: It’s the Bills!)
rsxfirefighter replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I do really like this idea… however on the flip side about zero negativity, if he ever screws up and we have to fire him. That will become a really long season due to potential retribution from the other refs… -
Heard a "rumor" that the best method is to access Reddit nflstreams on a mobile device. Find the game your interested in, and type that address into the FireStick Web Browser to run direct from the stick with no casting delay. But no one does this, we all pay for Sunday Ticket or frequent establishments that have the games playing.

A Little Help Please ? I Just Don't Understand !!
rsxfirefighter replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly like CBend stated. When a team cuts a player, they are no longer responsible for any more bonuses or salary. However, they are responsible for the "pro-rated" amount of their signing bonuses and any other bonus structures to span more than the year in which it was paid out for. This is where the "Dead Money" comes into play. It is not necessarily money that we owe to the player, it is money that has been previously paid to the player that must be accounted for towards the Salary cap. -
I have always thought it was best to have it on a Saturday. Especially how big/main stream the event has become. Between Kids having school and parents working, it limits the ability for some to attend social gatherings. I understand we don't need another "Holiday" as not all jobs give employees those days off, but for the majority not working retail, having it on a Saturday would be better all around. The only time I was comfortable with it being on a Sunday was the one year our Bills were screwed to play on 1 weeks rest. I believe that is the last time that has happened too..

Slide Rule Change..Bigger then the helmet rule?
rsxfirefighter replied to plenzmd1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Did you read the whole article? Even at the end it states: This will definitely be interesting to see how the league truly enforces this rule. Because the way the Article explains, the minute a player leaves his feet, his forward progress stops. However, I believe the interesting part of the online rule is : So what defines "giving oneself up"? I guess it is more directed at the awkward forward falls then the true head first dives -
Would like to see Bills on Hard Knocks
rsxfirefighter replied to SteveFreeman22's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wouldn't they have to volunteer since they made the playoffs...As I recall, the only mandatory teams are non-playoffs and non-first year head coaches. -

Zay Jones Trolled by His Mom on Twitter ?
rsxfirefighter replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I posted mine about the same time as 26Corner....my connection was just slower...LOL. Your not dumb, what I posted came off worse than what was in my head as I was typing it. Thought maybe you saw something different on her page. I was confused when we drafted him at first when I was looking at highlights and it said Isiah, and I had to go wait a minute...never heard it abbreviated like that before, but that's where a lot of names/nicknames are becoming more frequent nowadays. But figured everyone was on the same page by now. -

Very well written. I agree with a lot of your points. I understand freedom of the press, but somethings just should be censored.. -

Nitpicky topic: opening kickoff
rsxfirefighter replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Looked up the rule on NFL.Com and it draws "opinion" into the definition of "touched" when reading #6. Unfortunately, there is no dates on changes to the rules to tell if this is a new addition to the rule book. According to the Rulebook at NFL.com: Digest of Rules Main Kickoff In addition to a kickoff, the other free kick is a kick after a safety (safety kick). A punt may be used (a punt may not be used on a kickoff). On a safety kick, the team scored upon puts ball in play by a punt, dropkick, or placekick without tee. No score can be made on a free kick following a safety, even if a series of penalties places team in position. (A field goal can be scored only on a play from scrimmage or a free kick after a fair catch.) A kickoff may not score a field goal. A kickoff is illegal unless it travels 10 yards OR is touched by the receiving team. Once the ball is touched by the receiving team or has gone 10 yards, it is a free ball. Receivers may recover and advance. Kicking team may recover but NOT advance UNLESS receiver had possession and lost the ball. When a kickoff goes out of bounds between the goal lines without being touched by the receiving team, the ball belongs to the receivers 30 yards from the spot of the kick or at the out-of-bounds spot unless the ball went out-of-bounds the first time an onside kick was attempted. In this case, the kicking team is penalized five yards and the ball must be kicked again. When a kickoff goes out of bounds between the goal lines and is touched last by receiving team, it is receiver’s ball at out-of-bounds spot. If the kicking team either illegally kicks off out of bounds or is guilty of a short free kick on two or more consecutive onside kicks, receivers may take possession of the ball at the dead ball spot, out-of-bounds spot, or spot of illegal touch. -
Nitpicky topic: opening kickoff

I believe the team that pulled this stunt on us was the NY Jets. (Confirmed: Leon Washington Week 8, 2008) I was furious when they called it back then and was shocked to find it a legit call. Not sure if this video is correct, as it wont load here at work: http://www.newyorkjets.com/videos/videos/2008-Week-15-Jets-vs-Bills---Leon-Washington/276f4a91-79d0-11df-ba56-acc8e62813e9 I was thinking the same thing when I saw the kick on Sunday and was upset Tate didn't pull the same stunt. I haven't heard any reference to that rule being changed. The previous definition if a player is out of bounds and touches the ball it is ruled out of bounds at that point of contact. This rule was still valid last season: https://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/packers-take-advantage-of-ridiculous-nfl-rule-to-magically-make-kickoff-go-out-of-bounds-092516 -
you can run block down the field all day long, but you can not run block on a pass. And that was exactly what it was. he wasn't running a pattern, he was engaging in a run block. They ran the play action, and I wonder if the WR knew it was going to be a pass to begin with. I could see the WR screwing up the call thinking it was a run, cause he could have easily ran a pattern there and slowed up Hyde just as much.

Would have been a better throw if he stepped up...but he through while jumping back which caused it to come up way short....and if he ate it, it would have been a safety -

I just want a competitive game to start... I dont want to see a QB who repeates the same mistakes over and over again like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day.. -
What are you smoking, that article is all about Brady..not Peterman. Unless there is a hidden innuendo in that somewhere that I was oblivious to.
