I think their relationship will be fine as long as they are both getting into the game and Gailey finds a way to get them both touches and into the rythem. Not an easy task by a long shot.

Taking your kid to a Bills game
todzilla replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I went to my first game in 78 when I was 6. I can still remember the moment I walked out the tunnel and could see the field for the 1st time, I was in total awe. My folks had season tickets in the late 70's early 80's and I went to quite a few games. Never had a problem and surrounding fans were always extra nice to me. -
Oh crap, I looked back to page 6 and it didn't seem to reference the re-injury. Sorry, thats embarrassing

My linkJust saw news that Peters re-injured the same achillies. Not sure how this happens so quickly, but it was in a story on Yahoo. No other details from the Eagles yet.

Did Cris Carter just make it easier for Andre to get into HOF?
todzilla replied to bbb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Do you ever listen to the guy? He's not dumb, very interesting and honest on the radio. He was asked a question and gave an honest answer, I imagine his HOF chances were not part of his though process here, and why should they be. And like others have said, it was Romo, so that can only help. I think Carter and Reed should both be in the Hall. -
You're my density Wes...Take a hike McFly.

T.O. tells Dr. Phil he squandered $80 million
todzilla replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We seem to take such pleasure in the pain of these athletes that squander their money and I don't really understand why. Sure it's frustrating to see someone blow all that money and we all think that if we just had $1m we would be set for life. But I would bet a large percentage of the people on this board struggle with finances everyday. Even people who make a nice living. We say things like, as soon as I get that next promotion or raise, I'll be all set...then we buy a new car (sure, not a Maybach) and get right back to the struggle. The athletes are the same, just living on a much bigger scale, and then they stop earning in their late 20's or if they are lucky, their 30's. Saying all that, it would seem like $80m would be enough not to screw it up too much, but even if TO invested, he went through 9/11 and this recent recesstion during his earning days and could have lost millions during each of these. -
THE BAD NEWS about FRED from Bull and Schlep
todzilla replied to shoretalk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I totally agree with this. He has stated many times that it isn't football or the Bills he doesn't like, it's that the Bills have been so irrelevant for years that there is nothing interesting to talk about with them. I think this past offseason has changed all that. He is more of a hockey and baseball fan for sure (and maybe tennis too), but I believe he likes football and the Bills. He just wants to do interesting radio about an interesting team. -
THE BAD NEWS about FRED from Bull and Schlep
todzilla replied to shoretalk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The best part of the thread was the super clever names you came up with for Schopp and Bulldog....bravo, well played -
I go through this too. It gets a little harder to jump off the couch after a big hit when these stories become more prevalent. I also used to be a big pro wrestling fan as a kid and followed it some as an adult, but after all the deaths it just got too hard to support it. I don't want football to be that way.

It saddens me when anyone feels like the only way out is taking their own life, especially someone that got to that point through service to their country. I think the reason we all rally to this type of situation is that we all spent 15 or so years watching this guy play and admiring, cheering or booing him. We feel like we kind of know him.

Bounty Gate Players Suspended
todzilla replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So even if it's less than 1% of the players, does that make it okay? No worries, it's only .5% of our employees that have mush for brains and are dying young, carry on. I wrote my post then went to lunch to find out Seau killed himself. Obviously we don't know if there was any correlation to concussions, but it makes you wonder. -
Bounty Gate Players Suspended
todzilla replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not sure if this is sarcasm or a joke, but yikes. How much more research on concussions or retired players passing away in their 40's and 50's with the brains of a 90 year old do you need to see. I know they choose to play a dangerous sport for a living, but the game can be great without crippling everyone that plays it. -
looks like we have to cut kelsey
todzilla replied to superbills315's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As far as retired numbers goes it is my understanding that the only number retired is 12. And, it's not Jim Kelly's number. It was retired to honor the 12th man. (I could be wrong about this, not sure,) The 12th Man is on the wall of fame, but the jersey was retired for Kelly. They had a big ceremony at one of the games. I would think Bruce and Thurman should get the same treatment. Thanks for posting the story about numbers Chandamonium, it was a good read. And I agree that Kelsey should get to keep the number if he wants it...he's earned that. He's been a solid player for a while and is still contributing. If it was a 2nd year special teams player, then sure give it to Mario. -
Thats really interesting that you say that Malta...I had a very similar, there's something about him, feeling about Brooks. I hope, Williams, Brooks and Gilmore turn into one of the best CB groups in the league to go along with the awesome front 4 they've put together.

James Brown STILL on the board
todzilla replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Totally agree, he would add some nice depth to the o-line. -
No shame in Brooks not starting behind the 6th overall pick this year and a 1st round pick next year. The guy looks likea playmaker. Our special teams just got better too with Brooks and Nigel.

RD 4, Pick #105: LB Nigel Bradham - FSU
todzilla replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why did he get booted after that hit against the U? Led perfectly with the shoulder right as the ball was getting there! Looks like a big hitter around the ball a lot. Sam Cowart worked out pretty well from FSU, let's hope Nigel is similar. -
I don't hate this way of thinking at all. Especially a guy like Curry or David. I like Andre Branch too. If Mark Anderson is the guy from his middle seasons in the league and Merriman can't stay healthy, it would be great to have another pass rusher. Curry and Williams on the ends for the next 6 years would be tough. Yeah Pilsner, that pic makes it awful tough to focus on reading your posts

I agree NoSaint, I loved watching Upshaw in college. A very hard hitter that always seems to be around the ball. If we go defense in the 2nd round, I'd prefer Lavonte David or Vinny Curry. Curry would be great to add to the pass rush as we imitate the Giants model.
-
If the Bills can get Martin or Glenn, I'm all for it. I'd take a WR or Lavonte David over the other tackles in the 2nd.
-
Another person that seems to think you are supposed to fill all your holes in the first round. But really, with Gilmore, you get a player that fills a need and was pretty much a consensus to go between 7-12. Seems like a B at worst.
-
He seems like the type of player that will end up with Baltimore and then kick butt for them for the next 10 years. I don't think he fits our D per se, but he's the type that the type the analysts will gush over and say "he's a football player"

Very much enjoyed NFLN tonight. Mayock is great. I like Rich Eisen too.
-
Would love one of the WR's. Hill, Jeffrey, Randle, or Sanu. Fleener would work too. Throw in Glenn, Martin, Adams, and David, and at least one will be available.
