  1. lol This is good news about stroud. I am glad he wants to be better and losing the weight should help him be quicker at end.
  2. What are you trying to say here? Are you inferring Ralph is cheap and that is why they picked who they picked?
  3. If there is no point in picking a rb that high unless we are one player away from superbowl contention, then our beloved Bills may never get to make that pick. How many times have we been ONE player away? as for picking 3 early rbs. The Mcgahee pick WAS stupid. I agree there. We had henry and willis was injured. Donahoe screwed up big on that one and you probably won't get many people who think otherwise. willis wanted out and was becoming a problem so we had to trade him. The Lynch pic was a need. He is a good back but with all his troubles might not last around here. Picking Spiller, though it wasn't a pressing need, it could be in a year, or maybe even this year depending on what Marshawn is thinking, or if he screws up again. Jackson doesnt have too much wear and tear yet but he is getting old for a running back. So it could be argued that this was a need pic. Running back is perhaps the least important position on the field? Are you insane? Running backs account for a good chunk of yardage and points in the league. and time of possesion. and they catch passes. I totally disagree with that statement. Next point, you don't know they could have traded back. and like john said, maybe they didn't get a realistic offer. and you still didn't answer his question. If you HAD to pic at 9, WHO WOULD YOU HAVE PICKED? you are correct in one thing, The Bills did want Spiller. And I can understand why. You say only pic a rb high if we are one player away from a superbowl contender. So if we picked a tackle at 9 thatwasn't that great, would it get us that much closer to the superbowl? No. We are a lot of players away from a contender. When a player of Spillers calber comes along, one who is a threat for points and yardage everytime he touches the ball, and it WILL BE more than once or twice a game by the way. He's a threat running, catching, and returning. We will get a lot more out of this guy than anyone else we could have gotten at that point. this ISN'T a one year project. We can still get all the pieces we need in the next year or two and we will still have Spiller. you are stuck on thinking YOUR Way is the ONLY way to build a team. and I just don't buy it.
  4. Nice post Gaither, who everyone and their brother wants the Bills to trade for, was a 5th round pic and started 6 games his first year and all 16 his second year. So it IS possible Wang could do the same thing. I'm not saying it will, but with a good work ethic maybe he can turn into a good left tackle for us.
  5. No, I would make it two I guess. And I also think brohm is going to win the job and play well and we won't need to pic a qb next year. At least that is how I would like it to pan out.
  6. How did you feel when willis McGahee crapped on Buffalo with his comments about the night life and women? 99% of bills fans, including me, wanted that scum bag off our team. I'd much rather have a player like JP on the team who "embraced" the city and the people. It's not just about winning to me. Class counts for something. Something this board seriously lacks at times. Like the guy who said eff losman and wished he would have a career ending injury. If you want to hate anybody, someone who wishes for a player to get seriously hurt should be the one. and our own player nonetheless. unfrickinbelievable.
  7. is your avatar also your mug shot? ps- screw the jets!
  8. I was going to defend Gailey but MarkAF43 did it for me......as to the high hopes for people-what is wrong with high hopes? If the guy sucks up the place, then you can say he sucks. I like the man and what he is doing so far and the things that he says, so I do have high hopes for the man. If we hired a big name guy like Shanahan ,then you'd have high hopes, right? But there is no guarantee he would turn it around. Until gailey proves he is bad, I for one am going to give him the benefit of doubt and give the man a chance to do his job. If after a year with this team it is obvious he sucks, then i will agree with you. Till then, I will keep my hopes high. totally agree with you. but it is like talking to a brick wall isn't it?! He says the numbers don't lie. You show him the numbers and he still doesn't agree with you. FACT-There is a new HC and GM. FACT-That's two pretty BIG changes to the regime if you ask me. I know you didn't but we are on a message board. And I am pretty sure Modrak doesn't make the pics so in my eyes there is plenty of reason to believe that the players picked could have a bigger impact than whitner/mccargo. They had a pretty good draft last year, other than Maybin which the jury is still out on. what does that say? and the FACE of the franchise is now C.J. Spiller!
  9. Is that YOU in the bunny suit??
  10. I wasn't disagreeing with what he said(though it was all pretty obvious). he got blasted the day before with "behoven" and this new post I figured he was going to get destroyed with the negative guys on here. I am one of the most positive guys on this board. I would much rather read what he wrote than what the regular bills bashing negative ones always have to say. I didn't mean to come off the way I may have sounded.
  11. my ONE word said all I wanted to say. I didn't have the time or energy to get sucked up in this stupid post this weekend. and I will leave it at that.
  12. Russell has had much more opportunity to prove himself and has failed miserably. Brian, on the other hand, has not had the work. IMO, he looked decent in his first start, and with some time, good coaching, and hard work, he might be able to reach his potential. But he certainly hasn't had the opportunity to prove he sucks yet.
  13. Did you not learn anything from your last post? you must have thick skin. keep tryin
  14. Welcome to the board, son. Word of advice, get out while you can! unless of course, you like to be abused.
  15. Marshawn is under contract for 3 more years. I don't think he wants to be here but it's fairly obvious, and refreshing, that our GM has some gonnads and has made it known that Lynch doesn't get to decide if he gets traded. If he wants to collect a paycheck then he plays. And if he eventually wants a BIG paycheck down the road, he trys to play to best of his ability. He is not in a position of power in this situation.
  16. It's about quality, not quantity. You had me till the "plays into Trent tendency" and beyond stuff. I have to believe Gailey when he said it wasn't lip service that the qb competition was open. Spiller will help ANY qb with his skills. To me , THAT's why it was a no brainer. Nice use of sarscasm!........I'm with ya bro! What do you mean SIT him on STeams? It sounds like you are saying don't use him for returns which would be defeating the purpose. he is a dangerous weapon that should be used in anyway that will help. I would like to think that this will be a big part of his game.
  17. I have to disagree with you. a very strong running attack WILL help the passing game. When oppossing teams try to keep 8 in the box to try to stop the run, eventually, thats going to open up some people down field. and, I really don't care if we are tops in the league in passing anyways. We are in a tough division in an area where the weather later in the season dictates having to run the ball.
  18. the funniest thing I have read here in a long time.
  19. First of all, drafting a qb in the first 2 rounds doesn't guarantee crap.We did that in Trent edwards. How'd that work out? And secondly, just cuz YOU think they are a pile of Sh*t, doesn't make it so. they haven't even played a game yet or put out a final roster. You don't sound like a diehard supporter at all to me. just a diehard whiner. And the way it looks to me, you didn't hate saying this at all. In fact, I am pretty sure you enjoyed your rant. Many of us here see the positive steps the new guys have made. There is more to come but we must be patient. It can't all be done in one off season. They have a plan and we have to give them a little time to put that plan in place. But you're a diehard. Surely you have some patience left for your favorite team right?
  20. Maybe he is assuming but it is a safe assumption. Do you truly not think we are going to be better off without the tiny linebackers? Granted, the players we drafted have to produce, as does everyone, but they added some bulk and it should help stop the run this year. And besides, the bills can never seem to play well against the 3-4 so it must be harder.........ah, ok, maybe thats not the best example. Seriously though, I hated that , whats that one guy call it?, tampon 2 defense. It may not be sooooooooo much better, but the 3-4 is better. and a bonus will be our offense will get to practice against it so that should help them when it comes time to play the teams in our division. Gailey did an interview stating all the reasons why he was switching. And I agree that this is the way to go. are you assuming it'll be worse?
  21. I used to live in Vegas and still have lots of relatives there so I usually make it out at least once a year. My nephew took me to a cool Bills bar. I can't recall the name but it was on Boulder Hwy past Sam's Town, same side, goin towards Henderson just past a strip joi....eh, mall. yea thats it. They put out free chili and wings. AND, they had labatts! Maybe you've been there, but if not I definitely recommend it. I'll never forget the game I watched there. It was the one a couple years ago against Denver when we lost as time expired with a field goal. grrrrr! I can get the name if you're interested. I think you have to look at more of what he has done in the NFL than college. For starters, you recruit players in college and there are soo many teams trying to get the same guys so if you don't have a great class you won't be working with the best players. In the NFL, the players are so much better as a whole and you get to draft guys and have free agency so I feel he has more of an opportunity to get better players to work with. He DID bring Dallas to the playoffs in his 2 years there and as Dolphins oc, they went 11-5 both years so I believe there is evidence to suggest he may be a decent coach.
  22. SO WHAT that he is 70 years old? The man has been around football all his life. As far as I am concerned, being 70 makes him MORE qualified because he has had more time to learn and gain experience in everything that is football. Almost every older person i have met is wiser than some young buck. getting older and gaining experience is a GOOD thing.
