LT, then QB in 2011 Draft?
EastRochBillsfan replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He never said anything about picking first, just who he'd pick in each round. With that said, with all do respect astrobot, but other than you, who the hell really cares about about next years draft right now? Bills season starts in under 2 weeks. I can't even fathom looking that far down the road with the season just getting under way. and besides, our needs right now might not even be our needs at the end of the season. So I don't even see the point. -
Levi Brown to the active roster?
EastRochBillsfan replied to DIE HARD 1967's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't always see eye to eye with you two, but I happen to agree with every word you guys said here -
you beat me to it. To you guys who continually bi-atch abut the line. Honestly, I really think its time you just get over it. They've done what they've done, or havent done, and this is what we're going into this season with. They could be good. No one really freakin knows. and if you say you do, you'd just be a complete liar. and this goes for qbs too. I know its your right to b-tch and moan, but its my right to b-tch and moan about your b-itching and moaning. but we are all here reading the same stuff every day over and over again and the seasons about to start and it would really be a nice change of pace if we all just got behind our team for once. Lets look forward not behind. For the sake of my sanity and probably a bunch of others on here as well, can we at least just give this coach a few games to see what product he puts on the field. Just give me a couple weeks free of the doom and gloom. It would be so nice. Please and thank you. ......I know, I know, its just a pipe dream but it doesn't hurt to ask.

What amazes me the most about Spiller.
EastRochBillsfan replied to DarthICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's great to see some of the people who were so pissed about this pic starting to come around. I expect to see a bunch more of you see the light before too long! GO BILLS! -
I call B S on this. By what brilliant deductions did you come to this conclusion? ..just curious. It is certainly your opinion that brohm isn't a good qb but you state it like fact, which in my opinion is WRONG. And with your last line, it seems here we have another kettle calling the pot black scenario. No, most of us ALREADY see.

Isn't this how mpl started out? Thank you dean.....for saving me the time to write all that. hey San Jose, you really should read the first 3 pages then. amusing...

Now we know why Brohm was #3
EastRochBillsfan replied to BillsFanInLV's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
well, they invested a second round pic for him. He didn't outplay Flynn and for whatever reason they wanted the roster spot normally set aside for a third qb to go for another position, thinking they could develop him on their practice squad. no one wants to waste a second round pic. So they took a calculated risk by waiving him. And then we became desperate for a qb and snatched him away from them. kinda like if we put brown on the practice squad and he gets plucked away. but he was a 7th round pic as opposed to a 2nd so not too many people would be upset about that, except maybe the bills who want to develop him. I was just sticking up for buffalo pride. he wasnt comparing warner to brohm, just the fact that gm's sometimes pass over people that turn out good. there's many qbs that are later round pics or undrafted that make it. brady, warner, romo, waren moon was undrafted. can't think of anymore of the top of my head. but its just not qbs but all sorts of positions. our own jackson was on the practice squad and look at him now. guys can develop. it happens all the time. some take more time than others and some become busts. And I'm pulling for Brohm also because that would be great for the team. If he ends up being good then next year hopefully our first round pic can go oline instead of qb. but to call him a bust at this point I don't think is fair. He hasn't lived up to his potential yet as a second round pic. when he gets his chance to play a few games this year, cuz we all know edwards will get hurt at some point, then maybe we'll get our answer. -
Will the Bills make the playoffs this season ?
EastRochBillsfan replied to Skoobydum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I say we have a decent chance if we don't have any major injuries. I believe there is more talent on this roster than a lot of people give us credit for. And I do believe Chan is a good coach. All his teams whether as an oc or hc, other than maybe kc, have scored points. and i feel this trend will continue. I mean, just look at Roscoe for example. None of our other coaches have utilized this guy like he should have been.I know its only pre-season but it certainly looks like he will be a big part of our offence this year. We are going to have one hell of a running game this year. and in turn i think this will help us have a good passing game too.(just look at that 70 yard td to evens last week as an example of what a good runnning game can do) If our defence can be better against the run, and the players don't make so many stupid mistakes as in the past that have hurt us so much, I do honestly believe we could finally end the draught this year. This is certainly my opinion. I would prefer to be positive. I feel, if you expect to lose. you will lose. If you expect to win, well, maybe you just might do that. -

and maybe for this same reason no one wanted to go after the guy. at the start of the season teams have their rosters set so isn't it possibly logical that they didn't want to take a project and try to have him learn a new system when they already had their own people that have been in their system, regardless that he was a second round pic.. we didnt even grab him till the injuries got real bad. Most people here agree that greenbay tried to stash him away and it backfired on them. You are one of only a handfull of people that think like this. I really don't see what difference this makes. gm's still passed over warner as they did brohm. as far as I am concerned it's too early to tell if he'll turn out like warner or not. you really didnt even listen to buffalo prides comment cuz your so caught up in your hate for brohm. Every gm passed on warner. read this s l o w l y albany, every gm passed on warner and he ended up as one of the best qbs ever. now i am not saying this will happen with brohm. but if every gm can pass on warner and he turn out the way he did, it IS PLAUSABLE that this could happen to Brohm. -
I don't respect the Broncos for that wheeling and dealing. I forget exactly what they gave up for him but I think it was a second, third and fourth. i'd have been extremely pissed if we did that. It's hard to draft in the NFL.

Is there ever anything positive to come out of your mouth? I can't recall one person claiming he's our savior. but there is always that possibility, which some of us just like to hope for. just because he hasn't developed at the same rate as someone else doesn't mean squat. Some people learn faster than others sometimes, that's just life. -
Colt McCoy may get cut...
EastRochBillsfan replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
oh frickin please with the couldn't make it as a third stringer crap. Do you really expect someone to be the same person in year 3 as in year one? is it not possible for that person to grow from year to year and learn more than when they started? If he's got the physical tools and the smarts, which i believe he has, why is it so unbelievable that he can become a good qb?(sorry, thought you were talking about brohm. its late) but either way, people develop. -
dawg, I'm with you in not trusting trent to do well consistently. Once bitten, twice shy. but as for the bolded stuff, I think this IS something we are going to see more of. That was all Chan. Lee was wide open by design. That broken coverage was because we made it broken. If we can get a good ground game going all we need is decent play out of edwards, or Brohm or whoever is throwing the ball this year. All they gotta do is hit one of those long plays a game and then the opponent has to repect the long ball. And then the ground game is even better.

Buffalo reaction to a superbowl
EastRochBillsfan replied to Fitzmagic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Way to ruin a perfectly happy, positive thread. That was awesome! Tears didn't well up in my eyes.I swear. OH, forgot to answer the questions. 1. If I could afford it, I'd be there to watch it live. saw us lose in Pasadena but it was an awesome experience none the less and one I wouldn't want to miss out on. 2. Nowhere in buffalo would be safe. 3. Buffalo would never be the same. I can't imagine how we all would feel with the weight of that monkey off our backs. Finally, a feeling of PRIDE. and then I could finally tell all my friends that are steelers or raiders fans who always throw it in my face how we've never won a superbowl to STFU! -

Buffalo News Poll:
EastRochBillsfan replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't even go there man..... LET'S GO BRO-OHM! LET'S GO BRO-OHM! -
So the Bills aren't committed to winning? They tried to get McNabb but he didnt want to come here. Washington had the 4th pic in the draft so they got a great prospect at LT. The Bills probably(hopefully) would have done the same if they picked in that spot. We changed our coach and gm(or got one for that matter). So I don't see how you can insinuate that we aren't committed. They addressed our horid run blocking which should help things. And no one knows what the pass rush is going to look like. and besides, no one knows if Washinton will be better than the Bills. Its STILL only August.

another doom and gloomer. yea. You didn't make me sad in the least bit. Perturbed maybe, but definitely not sad. I don't think you heard a thing i said. First of all, how many well respected anylsts are out there? Most of them are a joke, and if you read here regulary that is generally agreed upon. I really don't care what they think after one pre-season game. This thing isn't going to right itself overnight and shouldn't be evaluated on one preseason game that was missing a lot of starters. Say what you will about Gailey. I personally like him and see a change for the better with this team. From what I have seen, he will be a top flight coach. That's great you're going with the odds of history to prove he's not a top flight coach. The safe thing to do I guess. But just go ask belicheck and Levy what their first coaching jobs were like. And in fairness to gailey, he's done pretty well wherever he has been. so our assessment of the coach differ. Regardless, no one is going to be able know how good or bad he truly is untill the season starts to unfold. As for the qb, I agree a good one is needed. But I also believe Brohm possibly can be molded to be that person. Do I know this will happen? no. but there is a chance. Based on his college career and his physical tools I think there is a good chance. You can postulate all you want about how much football I watch. There's NOT much to see regarding Brohm. He simply hasn't been given much of a chance yet. Either way, we have who we have this year and it'll have to do. All the holes haven't been filled on this team and like it's been said a million times, they are going to build mainly through the draft. Bottom line is, neither of us really know what this team is going to be like. you have your reasons to think they will suck badly. and I have my reasons they will do better than expected by the "anylsts". But one thing I am pretty certain of is one pre-season game does not determine how the whole year is going to go. Get back to me mid season when we all have a real body of work to evaluate.

EastRochBillsfan replied to dwight in philly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And still some of you "fans" can't come up with ONE good thing to say about the Bills. It IS hard to believe some of you guys really do like the team. Very hard for me to fathom. Yea, they suck the fun right out of it. -
Gailey's thoughts on Brohm's strengths
EastRochBillsfan replied to bfw1234's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Man dawg, it doesn't get any clearer than what you just wrote. For some reason Albany's got his mind made up on Brohm and it does't appear any amount of common sense is going to change his thinking. So I guess all us "Brohm lovers" will have to endure more of these posts in the future. God help us all. -
Man, what a buzz kill you are. I'm glad you've got the whole season figured out. No sense in watching then I guess as the outcome has been pre-determined. And Washington, yea they put a whooping on us in the first pre-season game. Man did they turn it around. They got everything we (you) wanted; a highprofile/expensive coach, a great qb, even one of the best LT's in the draft. Superbowl bound I'm sure. Honestly, give me a break. We all know this team needs a lot of work. But there have been a ton of changes around here. It's going to take the whole pre-season for them to work out the kinks. But before you go writing off the whole freakin season, why don't you give these guys the benefit of the doubt and see what product they put on the field come Sept 12.
