Bingo, we have a winner!
-
Born overseas, raised in Eggertsville, Elma and then Penfield (suburb of Rochester). My mother and siblings were Buffalonians and I grew up going to Bison and Bills games. I was hooked when Jack Kemp took them to the championship. Our family was ecstatic and you couldn't help feel the love for the Bills. I left Penfield and NY state in 76 to find my fortune in the Air Force. I retired in 94 and have lived all over the upper midwest including the plain states of North and South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming and Minnesota. I did four years in central California and everytime I moved, I hoped the Bills would play a game near me (within 300 miles), but believe it or not, it never happened. My luck. I retired to Minneapolis in 1994 and thankfully got to see the Bills in town several years ago when they barely beat the Vikes with Bledsoe at the helm. Everywhere I go, everyone cracks jokes about the Bills, and I take it as I know they are just funning around and looking to bust my chops. When the Vikes win the town is happy (much like Buffalo), but it's a different story when they lose. You find the roads littered with those Viking car window flags. People tear down their banners and they just cry. I took my wife (who is Iowanian) to several Bills games, including when Thurman went up on the wall and she was amazed to see Bills banners and flyers all over the city. Something you don't find anywhere else, except perhaps Green Bay. People ask me why I bother with putting bumper stickers on my car, or the little helmet guy on the antenna and I just grin. It's because it's part of me. I no longer liver there, but I still believe. Although, if the Bills left, I would never watch NFL again. I live in Arizona, out in the sticks where there is no TV, very little radio and spotty internet, but I check in with TBD as frequently as I can and so does my wife. She is an avid Bills fan, and we have bred at least one daughter who likes them now too. The grandkids expect Bills coats, sweaters, tee-shirts and blankets and beg for them each Christmas. The dream goes on, and I hope they will keep dreaming about them. Hope is all we live with, whether we believe in a higher power or something tangible. Hope makes life worth living, and for Bills fans, it is what keeps us grinning.

Vikes reach staduim deal w/Ramsey County
Phil Hansen Forever replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I retired and lived in Minneapolis, my wife is still there while I'm doing missionary work. The Arden Hills site is a great location, right off I-35W with County Rd 10 and US 10 intersecting nearby. I-694 is 4 miles south. Easy on and off ramps and no Minneapolis parking fees. Most parking lots downtown charge in excess of $50 per car for the privilege of parking without any tailgating allowed. The Metropolitan Council is seething with anger about being outwitted on this site. They draw taxation rights from the Metrodome and are pushing hard to get it overturned and the Metrodome rebuilt. Parking hassles are nothing compared to driving downtown before, during or after a game. It's impossible. People complain about RWS, but you guys haven't seen anything. Driving in MPLS is nuts anyway. I have a friend who is part of the deal to move them to Arden Hills and they have been talking about having the site connected to the Hiawatha Light Rail. It has been proposed to build a line from downtown to Hinkley and perhaps Duluth, and this might be the impetus. I would love to see it and screw the MetCouncil. People could tailgate and have an interestate ramp right off site. No more parking vampires and pissy councilmen trying to stop tailgating. -
When employer's say a person has been "relieved of his/her duties", you can read that something else is going on. Normally, they just come out and say that person doesn't fit our organizational structure. Being relieved of duty is quite a different scenario...sounds like he screwed the pooch.

But you have to get her away from the pig trough. -

I'm with you there...I could use some Dareus about now! Very clever! -
Perhaps that is what caused the tsunami in Japan?

The question shouldn't be "how do we like our D now, but how will Tom Brady and his ilk like it"?

Best Draft In a Decade Plus

Hey, I resemble that remark! I love and miss Genny Cream Ale. You can't get that stuff west of the Ohio river and that is plain unfair! -
One more time around the dance floor and this time you dip me, not the other way around.

Drayton Florence Tweet
Phil Hansen Forever replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like Florence. I hope they dump Whitner and Youbouty. Both suck. Florence plays with heart, but does tend to get penalized often. -

I'm with you there. Hope Tom Brady gets to eat some RWS turf this year and find out we are no longer pee wee football. -

51 years and 49 more losses than wins
Phil Hansen Forever replied to BillsfaninFl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As I have always said, the Superbowl years were an aberation as this team has been a perennial loser. -
It looked like a whale to me...but what do I know?

Fairley was on ESPN sports science

Perhaps...but only if they were tied to a small pole and were dead and weren't able to twist their head to fool him. -
Is this the new uniform?
Phil Hansen Forever replied to Aloha22's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It looks worse that our current unie's and that is bad. Perhaps pee-wee football teams might find it attractive. Who comes up with this combo, Liberace? -
Does anyone have any updates on Levi Brown?

Now that one is funny! -
Travis has enough kids to qualify for an offensive team all alone. He never actually ran over a cop...he just ran again his car against them, into another car. But the mooning episode cost him his job, not the car job. And lets not forget Anthony Hargrove...
