Things looking better for signing Pisa
SouthGeorgiaBillsFan replied to The Tomcat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll be surprised if the Bills let him slip away. All things being equal I think he chooses the Bills just because the Bills are closer to being a contender than the Bears. Playing in the NFC north is a way different ball game than playing in the AFC east. The Bears have done little to make me think they are legit contenders. Adding Cutler certainly helps but I still don't see any potency in their offense because he doesn't have enough of an arsenal at the skill positions. The Bills on the other hand have what looks to be, minus the OLB position of course, a very solid and deep defense. Adding Pisa would make it top tier in terms of talent and depth imo. Also you have to think the Bills have the potential for one of those "blow up the scoreboard" type offenses, and I don't think those differences are lost on Pisa. You also have to consider that Pisa stand to make a greater impact for the Bills who are far more starved for talent at the position than the Bears. I have to believe that unless the Bears offer him a flat out better contract you are going to see him in a Bills uniform next year. Hopefully the Bills FO doesn't let this opportunity slip away. -
Way to perpetuate unsubstantiated claims that have no basis in reality and for which you can offer not a shred of supporting evidence.

D. Juaron a good thing?
SouthGeorgiaBillsFan replied to offde-fence's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Which team are you talking about looking alright on paper? Because I've felt comfortable with my perception of the Bills as vast overachievers these past 7-9 years. History does not paint much picture at all regarding DJ's ability to do so, as he has never once coached a talented team. Considering how awful the Bills roster has looked we should be praising this man for not allowing an 0-16 season. -
I started reading the post before I noticed the poster and actually thought it was Skooby. Also weather is the reason cold cities won't be considered but it isn't the weather during the game that is a factor. It is the weather conditions in regards to people traveling to the city that make it a no brainer. You just can't have a few million extra people (ok that probably *is* an exaggerated estimate) suddenly get snowed in at Buffalo. It would be a logistical nightmare and a potentially dangerous situation.

Is Vick really THAT bad?
SouthGeorgiaBillsFan replied to SouthGeorgiaBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nice that you can speak for all of society that way. Unfortunately, you can just make up your own reality and start telling everyone that it is the unequivocal truth. If I lost you there, let me summarize: stray dogs, despite the ever vigilant and valiant attempts of dog catchers and animal control officers throughout the nation, still run the streets in droves. -
Is Vick really THAT bad?

It got a new thread merely because I was tired of scrolling through page after page of previous posts looking for responses to my most recent comments. It got a new thread because I have the power to start new threads. It got a new thread because of how much joy I derive from how badly it irks you. It got a new thread because I honestly felt like the issue wasn't getting enough coverage. In fact, does it really matter why it got a new thread? Take your pick of reasons, I have more. -
One of you dog loving Vick-haters out there please explain to me why Mike Vick deserves your ire, considering the following truths: 1. Dogs are not people. Dogs do not have rights. Dogs are not citizens. They are in fact dogs. 2. Dogs fight all by themselves. They don't need Mike Vick for that. They will rip each other to shreds for no reason other than another dog was around. I think it is in bad taste that people would derive entertainment from that, but it is perfectly natural behavior for an animal. 3. Violence exists. To pretend otherwise is ignorant and irresponsible. 4. Dogs maim and kill my cats on a regular basis. They don't do it for food or for any other justifiable reason. They do it because they enjoy it. But nobody is suggesting locking up every stray dog that runs the street. 5. We are ready to crucify a thinking, feeling human being for inflicting suffering (albeit entirely indirectly) on an animal that will maim and kill other animals just for.....SPORT. HYPOCRISY!

The Cowboys Are Shopping Greg Ellis
SouthGeorgiaBillsFan replied to mousetrap08's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm sure it does. Not as fantastic for the Cowboys however. -
I would actually prefer if you just go ahead and start burning all of your belongings now.

This article is just rediculous
SouthGeorgiaBillsFan replied to basskik11's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just wanted to add that as awesome as James Lofton was, never in his career was he anything approaching the game breaking talent of TO. IMO only Jerry Rice is comparable to TO (TO hasn't eclipsed him yet) but even that could be in jeopardy depending on what happens over the next 2-3 seasons. For the sake of fairness, when all 3 are finally retired, I believe Randy Moss will be in company with those 2 guys as the 3 greatest WRs ever. -

It's like some people in Buffalo are trying to market the "blue collar" image as if it is desirable and will help bring much needed wealth back into the economy. lolz at that. You are better off dressing up like a bucket of popcorn really. How many did Drew win when he was actually playing though? Also from dictionary.com: -

' Actually he wasn't. The whole article is not only off the mark, its a disgrace to journalism. Observe: Incorrect, and clearly a biased statement. WTF is he talking about here? It is the very same Sportscenter faithful that lobbied so hard to have TO excommunicated from the league. Jesus Christ are we going to criticize a news network for showing TOs many unbelievable highlights, or shouldn't we rather criticize them for their smear campaign that they orchestrated in an effort to mitigate their embarrassment and incompetence in pretending Tony Romo was some super all world QB of the future...making TO into a perfect scapegoat. Ironic, don't you think, that one of the biggest jerks I've ever seen would make such a statement. Also, I'm not sure what he thinks the outside perception of the area is, but I personally moved away so that I wouldn't have to deal with the overabundance of jerk-type people. When I grew up in Western NY, what I saw was an awful lot of lazy, uneducated drug addicts taking advantage of the welfare system. Granted there are always hard workers in any region, but to pretend that "blue collar" Buffalo is somehow harder working or grittier than other areas in the country is a pipe dream. Run down, drug infested gang war zones do not qualify as blue collar in my book. Also, I specifically remember Budweiser still being by far the most popular brand of beer when I lived there. As I was reading the article I was sitting there thinking "WTF planet is this guy from?" and then I realized this article was posted in the Tonawanda News and it all made sense. You can just look at his picture and tell he is from upstate NY. lol. -

sorry double post. -
In our offense Vick would be uniquely imposing. He has a strong arm to take advantage of our weaponry and the speed to not only make him elusive against pressure (which would be a huge advantage considering our tackle situation) but making him another viable threat for teams to account for. I don't see how anyone could game plan against that. Also, Vick has that look like he wouldn't mind popping TO in his mouth if necessary =p. That being said, I'm more than happy with Trent manning the helm and wouldn't trade him for Vick if I could. In fact, right now I'd be hesitant to swap Trent with any other QB in the NFL for the simple reasons of his youth and what I believe to be unlimited potential.

We will go into the season with Fred Jackson as the #2 back on the depth chart and that is where he will remain until he outperforms Lynch. Since he won't have the opportunity to do that until after Lynch comes back, he will not be the starter when Lynch comes back. To even suggest the Bills would consider shelving Lynch for Jackson without having seen Jackson outperform Lynch consistently is absurd.

TO is on his way to Buffalo...
SouthGeorgiaBillsFan replied to Heitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not the best quote I ever heard there. See Belichik. It also could be said "Character without ability will lose every time." See previous Buffalo Bills teams. -
The Bills need to sign Pisa and Levi Jones. We don't have to worry about Jones being old and injury prone so much because if we add him it would be hard for anyone to say we don't have very good depth on the OL. If you are willing to run with our current line, why not get a major upgrade and still have this line as a backup in case the upgrade has issues? We have enough depth at DE. We could use another decent DT but that actually is unrealistic. Sign 2 players and have a decent amount of liquid cash to play with and the Bills are in solid shape.

Tennessee Boy I usually agree with your posts but I'm not really sure what you are talking about here. All offenses have to rely on receivers getting open in the passing game and the QB having time to get the ball in the air. But the Bills offense is much more dynamic than most in that we have a dominating running game with several tiers of talented backs to throw at people to offset a very dangerous looking passing game. Our O-line play is going to be critical, but at worst we should be able to rely on a ground-n-pound running game to carry us while our line builds chemistry and experience. At best, we could see the Bills explode into an offensive juggernaut pretty much overnight. It all depends on the tackle play I think.

You should stay off of message boards if you are illiterate or just struggle with general reading comprehension. That statement in no way whatsoever implies he believes they will finish 9-7, since we have no way to predict how many PPG the Bills will score this year. All he is saying is that with TO we can expect AT LEAST 2 more PPG, which should translate AT LEAST into a 9-7 record, which could make the playoffs (but I doubt it will in the AFC).

Dick Jauron's insistence on continuity
SouthGeorgiaBillsFan replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Here's a little news flash: it's not bad coaching that has caused the Bills to lose. It's bad playing. Period. The Bills aren't good. For posting 7-9 records with the personnel that was on the field during those seasons, DJ should be hailed as brilliant. That's all there is to it. You can't blame the Bills suck on anything except for the fact that they just suck. Hopefully they finally have enough talent to compete this year, so let's just see what happens. -
It certainly gives them a much better chance than a lot of teams in the NFL. I don't understand the point of this condescending post really. Jason Taylor is an elite player and a major acquisition for a team that is suddenly playing in one of the most talented division professional football has ever known. Dolphins fans have the right to be happy and excited about it, and it *does* make them a very strong looking contender, at least for now. Wait until they acquire Anquan Boldin and go check the threads. The Fins are going to be every bit as talented on paper as any other AFC east team and should not be underestimated.

Scouts Inc: Buffalo's Weakness
SouthGeorgiaBillsFan replied to In-A-Gadda-Levitre's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I frankly don't trust your judgment or opinion. No offensive coordinator could be expected to be successful with the Bills personnel from last year, or the previous several years really.
